I broke my GLX 842C 

 

So, Xpeditor to the rescue...I am considering the NRX+ or Conquest.

Your thoughts please.

I'd go with the NRX. I've never felt like the Conquest was worth the additional cost.

There will always be a market for a rod in that price range because many equate cost with sensitivity and it's certainly true is some cases. Between those two I don't see the return for your money.

I have broken a couple and they would not let me deviate from what I had.

You’ve posted many times over the years how much you love that rod. 
 

Why not just get it replaced?

At least you know you’ll love it just as much.

If Loomis will let you.... The last time I called they would only let me get the exact same rod. If upgrading is a possibility, I would go with the NRX.

If it was before NRX+, I would tell you go by conquest. But since the have X wrap in NRX+n already you can do with any of them, I personally will go by conquest.

I sold my Conquests and went all NRX.  Nothing wrong with the Conquest…I just prefer the NRX.  My first Conquest was an NRX upgrade through the Xpeditor program.  They told me I had to stay with the same model initially but finally agreed to let me pay the list price difference (not the Xpeditor difference).  I doubt they will let you upgrade at the Xpeditor price difference.

 

Edit:  Another option if they won’t let you upgrade.  I broke a Conquest and G Loomis deemed it a defect and replaced it under warranty.  I wanted to drop down to an NRX and while they agreed, I would get no credit for the price difference.  Instead I had the rod shipped to Am. Leg. and they gave me store credit which I used to buy the NRX.  If you go that route, you need to clear it with Am. Leg. first and make sure they do not charge you the $100 restocking fee.

I have many times.  Personally, If I were paying for a rod and not using a warranty I would choose the Z Bone over either. And save money in the process.

Keep the GLX! 

I'm in the NRX camp.  You are a Loomis die hard...stick with a Loomis blank.

I have both and was going to say conquest as you were coming from an MBR flex

If you coming from the Jig rod I would say NRX
