  1. I just know that for example the Veritas in a Heavy power somebody said you could use it to fish for Bull sharks...obviously that's exaggerated but you get my point, despite the rating it fished like one power up ( like an XH). I'm just wondering if this rod follows suit?
  2. Do these run higher than their lure rating like most Abu Garcia rods do? I see an 8ft. Heavy model for ridiculously cheap and wondered if it would be a good swimbait rod but looking it up the specs say the lure rating is only 1/2oz. - 2oz. I would only be interested in it if it would handle baits at least twice that weight.
  3. Looks like Dirty Jigs has something like this too! https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DIRTYJIGS.html?from=basres
  4. I have the exact same combo. Can't wait until the Fall jerkbait season starts up .
  5. If you can find one of the previous gen models (split cork grip) of the Berkley Lightning Rod Shock at Walmart for $40 or less it's an incredible bang for the buck. No it's not the most sensitive but for what you're using it for with small topwaters it's perfect and the 6'6" Medium has a lure rating of 1/4oz. - 3/4oz.
  6. While I don't have one myself I have heard from multiple people I know and respect that the Dobyn's Fury 705CB is an amazing crankbait rod.
  7. It depends on the size of topwater, for large topwaters I use my 7'5" iRod Fiber Heavy/Fast but for small topwaters like spooks, Sexy Dawgs, Arashi poppers etc. I am actually going to use a 6'6" Medium Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and I'm spooling my reel with 30lb. Hi-Vis braid and putting a 10lb. mono leader.
  8. It seems to me that there are a lot of Googan Squad haters out there and I just wondered where does all the hate come from? Did they do something underhanded? Seems like they're just a bunch of young guys who like to fish...sure, some of it seems put on and "made for YouTube" but they don't seem to be doing anything wrong. I really Like Justin (Lake Fork Guy), Jon B. seems okay and I can stomach Flair when he's not being over-the-top. Their baits seem to be of good quality too, haven't checked out their rods & reels though. Don't get me wrong, these guys aren't even close to the level of bassresource but it just seems lately I've read a lot of guys bashing them and I wondered if there's good reason not to like these guys or it's just hater's being hater's?
  9. Not to thread-jack but what about the Vision 110+1 and the Vision 110 Magnum...just as good?
  10. My vote goes to the Terminator Walking Frog. I have a hard time making walking baits do the "walk-the-dog" style retrive but even I can make the Terminator frog walk and they definitely catch bass, a nice big frog for easy walking and hard strikes!!!
  11. I know the young lady on YouTube (LadyBass...she's Canadian eh') uses a 50lb braid with a 40lb. mono leader and she's landed quite a few Canadian pike with that setup.

  13. Jackall Gavacho.
  14. I just tried it and it worked for me.
  15. Don't forget FREESHIP25 for free shipping over $25.
  16. Do they have the same action?
  17. I'm thinking this treble would only be good on a moving bait personally...something that keeps that spinner spinning on a constant retrieve like a crankbait.
  18. I'm looking at both of these topwaters but are they redundant as in the same functionality just a different shape? If you had to pick just one which would you pick?
  19. Check out some of the Dirty Jigs at Tacklewarehouse!
  20. This one looks good too, a little cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/Piscifun-Gripper-Waterproof-Electronic-Stainless/dp/B07F753ZYY/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=kastking%2Bscale&qid=1564574427&s=gateway&sr=8-4&th=1
  21. I was thinking a 30lb. braid to a 10lb. fluoro leader.
  22. I take it you're not a fan...lol. So these are the epitome of a streaky bait is what you're saying?
  23. How many of you have used these spy baits? Which one do you like best and why? I'm looking at some G-Fix 80's but could be swayed to the original 80 OR the 90 size if either one performs significantly better than a G-Fix.
  24. Would Power Pro Hi-Vis Yellow braid to a mono/fluoro leader be good for jerkbaits? I know some guys almost always use braid to leader, just wondering if the Hi-Vis Yellow would spook fish?
