  1. that 100k sounds nice but 50 years? No way, stocks, funds, bonds, etc are not for me I wont be living another 50 years and im 23.. id bet on it.
  2. Ill be doing that next spring ;D focusing on loading it up before this Michigan winter gets here.
  3. This pond is loaded with forage, bluegill and sunfish roam all along the shore line no matter where you look into the water from any point on land.
  4. Well I made a post about a week back or so saying about how a pond directly out my backdoor in my apartment was cleaned out. Since then you see no people fishing it at all. Youd only see about 3 people who fished it and me being the only one who did daily. Well.. since the story I shared with you guys I have been driving a minute away in each direction to two other honey holes near by that no one fishes in. With it being summer and all it isnt as easy to catch them lunkers and restore my honey hole back to its original state and/or beyond. Since the post I am happy to say 5 Largemouth Bass all weighing in over 4lbs with the biggest being a touch away from 6 and 1/2 lbs. I have also been catching the baby Largemouth as well to introduce them to their new home while young, I have caught 23 Largemouth Bass rangeing from 3-6 inches in length. All these fish have been released under the night sky where not a soul but mine was outside. My latest addition came tonight it was a 4lb (dead even) Largemouth Bass and I just released it before I sat down to type this. It was caught on a new bait for me, the YUM 5" Cotton Candy grub (worm) I used just a standard rig nothing special with a split shot. Here is a diagram for you guys to picture (if you want) this pond that I am restoring ._._._._._._._._. .l _____ l Legend .l l. .l l. . and = = Apartments .l l. .l l. *= My Apartment .l l. .l l. l's and _'s= Shorelines of Pond .l__ l. .l __l. ========*== Sorry about the diagram tried my best.
  5. I have a few honey holes inside my aparmtment complex.. they are loaded with largemouth bass (4+ lb ones) and no one even thinks of fishing when they look at it, very few know and take advantage of it, muahahaha.. best apartments ive ever leased!
  6. Berkley Powerbait worms work great for the price and are worth every penny, they last longer then all GYCB worms easyly but dont have as much finese to them. Its sort of like some of the dumb dumbs on here who think crankbaits from say Rapala arent good anymore because hey theres Lucky Craft. Too bad 90% of those same guys I wouldnt pick to catch more fish using there Lucky Craft then say me or anyone else who has been in this sport 10 or more years using a normal grub : The bait is only half the battle if that.. If it works use em, I know those Berkley Powerbaits work! Do I like em? Do I buy them? No, only because im extremely picky with what I use but just because I dont use them now or anyone for that matter doesnt mean their trash. If you have the money and are on a budget buy them.
  7. When you see Dragonflys your best bet is to throw a Torpedo out imo, it makes a buzzing noise that bass go crazy for, you can also catch and use them for live bait, they 100% without a doubt work.
  8. There really easy to find. You can also do a search online for Craws in Texas, im sure all craw colors would work as ive used them all and they have produced aside from the albino craw. Dont forget they change the way they look in simple things such as water depth, weather conditions, etc. They all produce. I have a couple different craws that all have worked.. usually in spring but ive gotten hits on mornings in the summer.
  9. He means Black Shiner, or Chrome Shad.. Torpedos are one of the very best topwaters I always have them with me.
  10. Better late then never, your not that old..
  11. Both are good and highly reputable, when dealing with those two go for the lower price because thats all it boils down to pretty much.
  12. Also someone could have cleaned out your area like they did mine, I released 16 2+ lb Largemouth and 24 under 2lb Largemouth to try and revive it. I did all this under the night sky. In your situation though it probably is the weather, fish get lazy and go deep in hot weather try droping a Senko or an Ika at the bottem, good luck.
  13. This time of year (August) all I use are plastics, GYCB 3" Senkos and Ikas.. I do however all of spring, summer, and fall use Heddon Torpedos on mornings and/or nights.
  14. After what he said about the minnows nothing comes to mind better than this, I second it.
  15. Interesting, but too bad it wasnt easyer.
  16. Every single day I fish. I fish the four 20+ year old man made ponds located directly in my apartment complex that have awesome (6lb) Michigan Largemouth Bass. Then when ever I get a chance I want to go to Lake Erie, Lake St.Clair, and the Detroit River, sadly I havent been there yet this summer but those three bodies of water all connect and were talking about some of the very BEST small/largemouth fishing in the country maybe even the world. Just go look at those bodies of water on a map. They're loaded with Bass! Although Lake St.Clair USE to have a 5lb avg smallmouth it now has 4lb but hey who wouldnt kill for a 4lb smallie AVG year round? The river and expeically Erie has some Bass that will blow your mind in size! Oh I wanna go so bad now..
  17. How do you tell the male bass from the females?
  18. UPDATE: Good news there might be hope found another pond LOADED with Largemouths I caught two Largemouths today in 30 minutes one was about 11 inches other was a 4-5 inch baby/adolescent both were safely and quietly released under the night sky in this pond. I shall take more but stop at about 10 ten+ inch largemouth and 15 three to 10 inch largemouth.. this pond is loaded!
  19. I cant believe someone could whipe out this pond with 1 fishing trip, I didnt see em just heard about the 12 of em who had a 50 lb cage set up in the water. Then to ice the cake im walkin around the pond as I usually do and what do I see.. I see a bass belly floating alongside shore with its head missing and tail missing. It had to be about a 6 lb largemouth judging by its huge belly and I know someone did it because it was clean cut perfectly even on each side. If I was out there and saw this this wouldnt of happend, I guarenttee it. These are Largemouth Michigan Bass btw, I seen some baby bass swimmin around here 'n' there so that was a good site I guess. I would bring bass back to stock but I dont think id want to do that if ******** like that are around here.
  20. WOW so your saying that they drained and ruined this pond? Thats great im so angry now.. I catch and release all the time to enjoy the catch again or let others sad they dont do the same low life pieces of stuff,
  21. Behind my place is a smaller sized U shaped pond packed with Largemouthbass. On average ive caught anywhere from 1-4 Largemouth every single day. As of late we've had some hot Michigan (Michigan meaning HUMID as hell) weather with a few days in the 100s. I have not caught one single bass in this body of water since this. I also heard from quite a few people there were a group of 12 people with a fish cage that caught and kept fish all day long that they caught. Someone said they had over 50 lbs of Largemouth. This really ticks me off because this is not a sanctioned body of water to fish in it is a private pond for residants to look at behind their apartment. Now I cant catch a single bass and im spending 9 hour days out there and I see others out here as well not catching diddly. Could these idiots of taken all the desireable size bass in here out of here? Is this weather just too much for them so they're staying extremely deep? Or both? I have no idea whats going on, the last two days we have only had low 80 temps and they have not taken anything. Worms, Crankbaits, Jigs, Torpedos at morning and night (what they usually slam for me). They are no where, everyone I asked thats fishing out says they have not caught a thing in awhile and no one knows whats going on, so what do you guys think? BTW this is an off topic question but if you can awnser it along with the above paragraph great, I was wondering how big a baby bass can grow in length in one years time? Thanks again guys I really dont know wth is going on :-/
  22. Always cast so your reeling in against the current with buzzbaits. Fish always have their bodies going into the current rather then away from it.
  23. Well I hope they dont, but it wouldnt change my fishing habbits if it did hurt them. Theres room for pain in any sport fishings no different. What I really hate though is idiots I see around here sometimes just rippin in little blue gills that bass could eat, throwing them up in the air, and blasting em with a bat into the water. What morons.
