  1. Thanks for sharing this story. It's a good warning. Glad you are ok!
  2. Something really annoying is that most places won’t break a hundred anymore. Even McDonald’s refuses them nowadays. You would think they, of all places, have the cash to make change. I guess they would rather pay the 2% to 3% to the credit card processor then worry about counterfeits.
  3. I always carry a couple hundred but primarily use my cc. I try to tip in cash too. I've heard too many stories of restaurants not paying out the full cc tips to servers.
  4. I don't eat what I catch. I find that it's interesting that the gov advises you not eat fish out our local river, but is our water supply. How is that ok?
  5. I bought one of those Spyderco Sharpmakers, but it didn't seem to do much the few times I tried it. I love their knives and had high hopes for the Sharpmaker. Do you have any tips?
  6. I had a Cologuard box stolen. Too bad it was empty. I'm sure the thief was still pretty disappointed. Would have loved to have seen the look on their face when they opened that box.
  7. I want a Tacoma too!
  8. Chronic diseases are so tough. It's hard when you are used to being the rock in the family and you feel powerless to help. Sending good thoughts your way for you and your wife. Hang in there man.
  9. 2018 4Runner. I love this thing. Had a 2000. Like the size of that one better but the newer one is more comfortable and the suspension eats up everything. Love not have to dig out of snow. Just put it in 4wd and go. I never worry about getting stuck. The 4Runner will take me anywhere.
  10. Thank you so much for sharing all this detail! Must be a joy to fish from a kayak.
  11. Beautiful! Do you mind sharing where you bought this? I'm drooling on my keyboard!
  12. Thank you for the review and comparison!
  13. Is that Skeet Reese rod as good as everyone says? How does it compare to newer stuff like a St Croix Legend glass or your KVD composites? Interesting how the monkey makes me wonder about those kind of comparisons...
  14. I appreciate all the advice! Seems that lugging this giant case is probably more hassle then I need at this point in my life. I'll just stick with the 3 piece travel rod. Thanks!
  15. Thanks man! Dude your Spidey senses are strong! I was just typing a PM to you since I know you go to Mexico. I had a feeling it might be more trouble than it was worth. I appreciate the offer! I'll let you know if I want to take you up on that. Do you just use Loomis Escape travel rods instead?
  16. Anyone own this? Pro/cons or other recs? https://planomolding.com/products/guide-series-jumbo-rod-tube-650800?variant=40468034781344 I already have a 3 piece Daiwa Ardito travel rod, but want to take some nicer Loomis one piece rods.
  17. Spyderco Delica 4 After 10 years, the clip keeps coming loose, but I love the way you can easily flick it open one handed with your thumb. Super sharp. I keep a Leatherman in the truck. Both were gifts from my 2 brother in laws. Nice guys!
  18. I think it's part of the overall increase in rudeness in our society. I cringe when I see all the yahoos in the gallery at PGA tour events with their phones out yelling "Get in the hole!" My advice is go at the crack of dawn to hit balls if you can. Like most activities, it's usually the serious people at that time of day.
  19. x2. I have the same one and find it very comfortable. Pockets and d-rings are great.
  20. Awesome! 4'6" is a good length. What reel is that?
  21. Another vote for the Dock Demon! I buy those for all my friends kids. I also keep Zebco 202 reels for older kids. They are $5 at Walmart. I keep a couple extras in case one jams up. We use these with a Field and Stream 5'6" medium 2 piece casting rod. Zebco also makes a 202 combo with a 5'6" that is around $15. I also tried a Zebco Omega Z02Pro. This is their smaller 20 size and comes with 6lb test line. It was $85 and is overkill. I don't like the push button either. It has a rubber cover over the push button which is loosely attached to the internal thumb button and feels weird. We went back to the $5 Zebco 202 reels.
  22. Thank for the offer! That would be nice!
  23. I hear you guys. On local moves I have always moved my electronics and fishing gear. I wish I could move all my gear in my truck, but I am moving cross country to CA and will fly. I wish I had time for a cross country driving trip. Will sell my truck too. The frame has some rust and it will be hard to sell in CA later on, but no one will care about that here.
