have you even had a package stolen from your front porch?

the Bait Monkey and it's evil cousins:  Reel Monkey, Rod Monkey, and (second cousin - twice removed) pocket knife monkey has a parade of boxes being placed on my front porch.  luckily, I live in a decent neighborhood virtually surrounded by retired elderly people with recliners next to their front windows.  you dont get much past them.    I have yet to have anything porch-pirated off my front deck.

despite that,  I track packages like NORAD Tracks incoming missile strikes.  I even stay and work from home on the very important days.  I have high-fived the delivery guy before on really cool packages.

as I drive around I see packages laid out with careless abandon.  just for all the world to see.  too much temptation I imagine.  I also have some tiny brick wall that blocks most of my boxes from prying eyes.

plus HANK is my dog.  he goes ballistic on anyone standing at the door.  good boy!!

you lose anything?

Never and even less likely now that I’m retired.

Pocket Knife monkey? After 30 or 40 fixes, I shot that S.O.B.. No new knives in years. Bought a $600 Curtis one time and luckily it was flawed so I sent it back. $50 re-stocking fee was worth it. Wanna buy a knife or 20? LOL!

I’ve quit knives as well.  It was getting ridiculous.  I do however want a leatherman Skeletool.

Never had anything stolen, but we have a hedge in front that hides most of the front porch.

We had one package stolen off our porch when we lived in Kentucky.  It was a Amazon package that had some cheesecake flavored pudding mix in it.  ?

Amazon replaced it quickly.

No ~ but it's not hard to imagine that somehow

there would be several dog bites involved.

Ripping flesh, crushing bone, torn ligaments & tendons.

Just doesn't seem worth it.

I think I read or seen somewhere that people are putting plastic type bins on their porches for deliveries to be put in. Good idea to keep a package out of plain view from the street but if dudes are just walking from porch to porch probable doesn’t amount to anything.

I have a doorbell camera. Best investment I ever made. I got it to stop a ding and dash kid. Scared the hell out of him popping out before he touched the bell.

It also helps keep track of packages being dropped off. When my son’s phone arrived and no one was home I asked the delivery guy though the bell camera to drop in in a planter by the door. That way it was not in sight of anyone walking in the road.

No, but had  a heavy concrete deer stolen from my front yard. Hope they had a hernia lifting it.

Knock on wood I've never had anything stolen. That said the house next door to me is a rental and I've heard the new renters like to help themselves to other peoples things. For my sake and his I hope that's not true.

No, but I rarely have items delivered. And I certainly would not even consider having anything of significant value left in a box on my door step. I’d rather just go buy it myself like @TnRiver46 does.

Just last night my neighbors must have accidentally left their garage door open all night long. Dudes got 2 Porsches and an Audi parked in there too.

He’d have sports cars with no wheels in my neighborhood. Or an empty garage one of the two

Growing up, the garage door at moms house had a mind of its own. You could close it when you left home and it would be up when you got back haha. Somebody finally figured it out, I think a bunch of folks on the same street programmed the same code for their openers

A few years back all the cars in my neighborhood got hit.My truck was locked up but my Wrangler is kept without doors or windows most of the time. They rummaged through it but I dont leave anything of value in it.

As soon as it happened I installed several Arlo cameras around my house including the doorbell. If anyone steps foot on my property the get recorded and my wife and I get notifications on our phones. It may not stop a thief but at least Ill have them on film.

That way you get to watch all your belongings walk away over and over on film and the thief still never gets caught haha

Pretty much anywhere in suburban northern Virginia, you can be assured that someone will go through your console if you don't lock your car doors at night.....during the day, too, in lots of neighborhoods

I had a Cologuard box stolen. Too bad it was empty. I'm sure the thief was still pretty disappointed. Would have loved to have seen the look on their face when they opened that box.

Check out Mark Rober on YouTube.

Think he's up to 4 versions of a Glitter Bomb vs Porch Pirates.

Seriously next level.
