What are your top three fluorocarbon lines and the worst?

Is it good for the rod to lift the fish?
Does it looks cool? Of course! But grab the rod too far up the blank or high stick it and you'll be buying a new rod. These guys are pros, have a locker full of rods, tens of thousands of hours on the water, sponsors for their gear, and a lot of money riding on their efficiency. They're eliminating the opportunity for the fish to cut the line, wrap you in a tree, throw slack in the line, jump, shake, etc. For the average angler I would say the risk outweighs the reward.

Soft plastics weight
You can make any bait black with a sharpie.

All around paddletail size?
3.75 (Rage Swimmer or Little EZ) or 3.8 (Keitech SIF or BPS Speed Shad) is a universal size for me. Works by itself or as a trailer. Buckeye Lures J-Will Swimbait Heads (also available in a weedless version) 1/8 or 1/4oz fits well and casts a mile. These baits have some weight to them by themselves. When I need to downsize I go to the 4" (yes, that's right) in the Keitech Easy Shiner and the 1/8oz head.

LEWS KVD Split Ring tool eval
Grip changed a bit but I have the same thing, branded as Mustad. The cutters worked reasoably well for braid for a few seasons and the split ring tool will work in a pinch, though I prefer Texas Tackle.

Brandon Lester Jig Article
Photos can be deceiving. Could be rage craw or rage chunk. Summer craw is a possibility. Did you take the photo? Did you put the plastic on the jig? Could also have been dipped/dyed but I don't see any signs of wear & tear like the jig has been used.

Issues changing out split rings (Owner Hyper Wire)
Best I've found. Open the ring just enough to get it started on the hook.

New to Stuart Fl area
Hey, @Joe Harter! I'm a little late to the party here... But welcome to BR! I'm planning to visit Florida in March and will be staying in Stuart. I'm sure I'll be looking for some local waters when I'm not on the big lake. Have you had any luck, or have any suggestions?

Rapala DT 6...
I'm getting a mixed message here? I agree, rapala/balsa isn't intended to smack off the water to clean your hooks, but if they catch fish... Idk what it is about hard baits but I'll burn through $10+ of plastics in a day and not think twice about it.

One 3600 sized tacklebox
I would fill it with my confidence baits and terminal tackle adjust seasonally.

Rapala DT 6...
@DitchPanda simple answer is yes, the DT-6 can get the job done in cold water. DT-6 in Demon is a staple for a lot of anglers. @MGF I agree with @Team9nine the DT-4 is the oddball Dives To series. It's not as subtle and doesn't run as tight as the 6 but its in my box year round. Ott's Garage Slim 06 looks like it's going to be a serious player in the cold water game. If you haven't made your purchase yet it may be worth a look.

I need some help with a flipping rod.
Lots of factors here. Are you flipping or pitching? These terms are often used interchangeably but the techniques are as different as the rods you would consider. How thick is the cover you're fishing? Your height is also a factor, and of course your budget. Just some things to consider as there isn't one difinitve answer to your question. What works for me, may not be the best fit for you.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
The monkey is hiding around every corner. Behind every door. I'm in quarantine and my only time out of the house was to get tested. Lots of time to browse and I have my first adventure on Okeechobee coming in March. I'm already stocked up on everything I need but my wish list continues to grow by the day. Help me quiet the monkey (without buying anything). He is relentless. That is all. Thanks for listening.

How much is too much?
Too much for me would be 1.) Causes marital issues 2.) Puts me into debt. Other than that, this is the healthiest addiction I've ever had. However, I feel like there's something to the 6 casting combos (and 2 spinning). I remember when I got my sixth I felt like I could go to most any water in my area and be prepared. After 6, things started to get more technique specific.

That weird color of soft plastic that surprised you?
This was just an inconsistent pour but I ordered a pack of SK Tequila Sunrise Orange Flk. Bugs come 7 to a pack and I got at least 4 different colors ?

What is up with the Menace clones
Has anyone tried the GOAT, yet? Wondering what it would look like on a buzzbait, and whether the Goat (3.75") or Billy Goat (4.25") would be a better fit?

senko hooks ???
So I've come across these, but never actually seen them in person. The "light" scares me. Thoughts on these bending out?
