senko hooks ???
Interesting... Have you used these? I assume you just pinch them similar to a split shot, therefore making them adjustable. Do they stay in place once you find the sweet spot?

Pre-Rigging
I will pre-rig with my best guess of what I'm going to need based on weather conditions, time of year, previous experience on the lake, etc. The problem I run into is often times that leads me to force feeding the fish what I want them to eat, and not listening to what they tell me they want to eat. Simply put, the pre-rig can save some time, if you get it right. But, my stubbornness can cost me more than the few minutes it takes to re-rig the pre-rig.

Go to balsa squarebills?
Not a true square bill but I really like the rapala dt-4 in olive green shad.

Co-Angler/ Back seat etiquette
If you're unsure about something, ask the boater and don't assume. Most guys will appreciate the ask, even if the answer is no. This is one time that "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission" doesn't apply for me. It can save you from a long, uncomfortable day.

13 Fishing brand of reels...good to go?
- senko hooks ???
Hopefully I'm in the right spot, and this will get some traffic... I'm looking for opinions on a keel weighted hook with a screw lock to fish senkos on casting gear. I'm confident in Gamakatsu, VMC, Mustad, Owner and Trokar. The priority for this hook is that a 5-6" senko falls horizontally. Thoughts?- Warm Weather Coming Soon!
"Soon" being a relative term...- Preparing frozen walleye
Thanks A-Jay. That's my anglers brain trying to overcomplicate everything yet again! Enjoy your weekend. RT- Preparing frozen walleye
Hi, all. I was gifted frozen walleye filets. I've always prepared/cooked mine within a day or two of catching. Any tips on thawing/cooking walleye that's been in an ice box?- Gary Yamamoto autographed hat
Unless you have certified proof that an autograph is authentic, it can actual decrease the value (condition) of memorabilia. For example, if you have a favorite baseball player and get the opportunity to meet them, have them sign the case the card is in and not the card itself. As far as your hat, it's not going to get a high appraisal, but an individual buyer may see some value in it. I'd wear it, but not as an everyday piece. Pretty cool item!- A popular bass rod power/type that you personally don't find a use for?
Glass. Just not for me. Should also note that the technology in graphite rods had already come a long way when I started getting into technique specific rods.- Berkley Cutter
I have tried a few. The Skinny Cutter 110+ Shallow best fits my needs. Out of the package mine have suspended slightly nose down and required minimal tweaking. The eye is cosmetic. I wouldn't base my opinion on a little bit of adhesive failing. I also wouldn't compare this lure to a Megabass, which IMO is the standard in the jerkbait category. But, it is a player at it's price point. Keep at it and good luck!- Things To Do During The Freeze
Trying to make this happen in Feb ??. Probably not realistic with a new baby, but something to keep in mind! The winter months offer an opportunity to practice. Learn backhand, skip, pitch, backhand and opposite handed cast etc. All are very useful with all the obstructions you will encounter bank fishing. You'll catch more fish being able to effectively place your lure in spots other anglers can't get to.- Returning Fisherman seeks advice on equipment.
There are many options for purchasing tackle online. Make sure the seller ships in a quality rod tube. Nothing worse than waiting for your rod to arrive and finding a missing guide, broken tip or shattered blank. Also want to be sure they have a reputable return policy in case the carrier is less than gentle with the item.- The latest sale thread
Unfortunately, they have had some issues. If you read all the regulations for ordering gift cards there is a disclaimer that they can call the phone number on the account for confirmation and have the right to cancel the order if it's suspicious. Hasn't happened to me but my track record with them shouldn't raise any red flags ?- The latest sale thread
Emailed gift cards are scheduled to be processed within 24 hours (during holidays it may take up to 72 hours for emailed gift cards to be processed).- Drop Shot weights
I've used a lead bullet weight, added a bead/clacker and tied on an old split ring to keep them from flying off. Wasn't plan A, but it worked.- New Here
- Curado k vs. tranx 200
This would be an easy decision if salt water was a factor. When it comes to the 200 size I buy Curado. My buddy buys Tranx. We both fish fresh water, and we both love our reels. His reason for choosing Tranx over Curado is he started with the 300 size for larger baits, and the Curado 300 didn't exist at the time. I realize that's not very helpful. My point/suggestion is to get them both in hand and mounted on a rod of possible, and see which you prefer. But, you would likely be satisfied with either.- Go-to saying before setting the hook
My gif file size is to large. User error.- Best knot for braid?
Another vote for palomar. Snell flipping hooks. Wild card - San Diego Jam for large lures. I.e. Alabama/Umbrella rig. Eliminates passing the lure through the loop.- Swivel for mono to braid leader?
Can you specify what lures/techniques you're planning to throw on this set up? A swivel can help to prevent line twist, but also makes casting more difficult depending on leader length.- The latest sale thread
They're good about it. I got a rod from them and the carrier managed to mangle the rod tube and break the blank. Impressive really. As soon as I sent them a photo they sent me a label and the replacement was in the mail.- WVU team finishes first
Let's Go...- Plano 3700 Thin boxes
This^^^ They for perfectly in my slimmer? backpack (old spider wire one from dicks) and takes some of the tension off the seems and zippers. - senko hooks ???
