  1. Thanks Tom. We have 82 and very windy. It’s Smokey from the fires south of us but not as bad as last year. There were over 150 trailers at the launch. All salmon anglers. Doug
  2. I think your level pros know how to maximize their tools and technology. But at the end of the day they go through the same process as most of use to find fish and then get bites. MLF has demonstrated this.
  3. I relate to Mobasser. Moved out of state when I was twenty and lost all connections. The people I care the most about are those I worked with. I lost my best friend of 37 years on July 21st and Rick was closer than a brother. I’m very fortunate that my four kids are also my friends. I truly believe you don’t measure friendship by what other folks will invest in your relationship but it’s what you choose to invest in that relationship.
  4. It’s a very good square bill and runs to about four feet. I would consider a hook change but fish that dude.
  5. Once again the road takes a detour. Thanks for the review.
  6. I’m more concerned that young people can read and write upon graduation.
  7. I read the rankings. There was one location and comments that was clearly accurate. The Columbia River. What was once one of the premier fisheries in the west has suffered in large part to the states of Oregon and Washington classing all warm water species as invasive and trash fish.
  8. My favorite pre spawn lure. Hope for chop on the surface and vary the speed from burn to slow roll. I run 1/2 and 3/4 double willow with various lighter translucent skirts.
  9. I have a 4000 and 2500. I love them. Both have been ultra reliable.
  10. I don’t know that’s fair Tom. VanDam has was put in a position because of his affiliation with Strike King. When the investment group with SK acquired LEWS, the guy wasn’t exactly looking to rock the business boat. Look at every SK Pro Staffer who now wears the Lews emblem. Quantum had a heck of a run in 80-90 period. I had a bunch.
  11. I can relate.
  12. At some point over time, after you purchase hard baits you “like better” your inventory will become redundant. Then comes the what do I tie on question. I have that very issue. Now to liquidate baits that sit and never see water.
  13. Once I adopted using a quality braid on my spinning reels, spinning has become so much more effective and efficient that I can’t conceive not using it.
  14. I’ll add one thing, don’t come in under powered. A 3/4 oz. bait has a beefy hook and barb. It’s not uncommon for fish to strike in such a manner, they set the hook themselves. What I use supports what I just shared.
  15. You read my mind MN
  16. I didn’t capitalize on the opportunity to fish for smallmouth when the fishery was more in reach than I realized. I was willing to travel three hours to fish largemouth but not smallmouth. It’s like never trying Switzerland chocolate when it’s been in front of me the whole time.
  17. A good name is to be valued more than fine gold. There was a time I admired many nationally known bass pros. However, I lost respect for many because of their lack of loyalty. I also lost respect for manufactures that failed to recognize and or maintain their pro staffs. One such company treated many anglers who were friends of mine so badly I do not purchase their products or subsidiary’s products. That’s just me. I don’t pet a cat that sh$@s in my shoes.
  18. Cover water. At the end of the day my back hurts from bending over to pick up a different combo and eliminate a lure, technique or spot/area/depth/cover type. I guess what I do best is fish a process.
  19. Clearly you don’t know my wife who needles me daily.
  20. Call Dobyns and ask to speak with Brice. Explain your concern and he’ll get you on track.
  21. Well, once again members here have provided a list of viable options that the OP can take into consideration. There is not a single model mentioned that is not a great product.
