Shimano spinning reels question
The F stands for front drag. Rear drag models have a R in front.

Poison Adrena 6'10" M
The 6'10 med PA is fairly stiff so I dont think you'll have any issues setting the hook on a 3/0 EWG. Its more stiff than the old model PA and more stiff than the current model Expride. It should make a decent all around rod for soft plastics.

Great!!
I had a big softshell turtle hit a spinnerbait one time. It was a decent fight. I thought i had a catfish at first until it got to the boat. Also catch lots of snappers and softshells when catfishing.

Myrtle Beach
Myrtle beach has bass but most people are saltwater fishing there. There's plenty of inshore and offshore guides but I've never really looked into bass guides there.

Zodias vs Poison Adrena
Like you , I hate shimano's EVA handles. It irritates my hands. I wrap my EVA handles with tennis handle wrap. Now they have Winn grip wrap that does the same thing. The PA 7'2 hvy is a decent rod. I've tried 1/2 oz spinnerbaits and chatterbaits on mine. I usually have a 1/2 oz jig on it though. I also have the 6'10 med, 6'11 med + and 7'3 med hvy. All are decent rods. The 6'10 med is probably my least favorite. To me, the tip is just a little too stiff for my liking. It's way more stiff than the expride 6'10 med. And more stiff than the old model PA in the same action.

Which Kastking braid is most like regular PowerPro
I agree, if you like power pro just use power pro. It's cheap and fairly reliable

Medium for wacky/T rig?
Also, what is his old rod? Would the procyon be an upgrade or about the same equivalent?

How often do you guys fish?
I usually go one to three times a week, depending on weather and work schedule. Would go more if the wife didn't complain about it too much. I don't usually fish on weekends due to family time and heavy lake traffic.

Medium for wacky/T rig?
Which daiwa rod?

What reel should I pair with my 7ft St. Croix Legend Elite panfish rod?
I would go with the Vanford 1000 or 2000. It would make a very nice ultralight combo. I have both these reels and they do go great with most ultralight rods. The stradic is alittle heavier and doesn't feel as finesse as the Vanford. Or go more high end and get the new Vanquish or Daiwa Airity. Both are nice options too.

GLX MBR843C vs Poison Adrena 611 Medium+ for T-rigs
I use to have the GLX 843C but got rid of it. From what I can remember it had decent sensitivity but wasn't outstanding. I like long handles too, but I felt it was alittle too long for my liking. I still have my Adrena 6'11 med plus. I throw 3/16 to 1/4 T-rigs on it. I feel it's as good in sensitivity as my Conquest rods - which I also sold off. I know sensitivity is subjective but you should be pleased with the Adrena.

2023 Shimano Vanquish Review and Initial Thoughts
Stella is more heavy duty. Better at straight retreive lures. Vanquish is made for more finesse applications. Better at stop and go retreive lures. Both are awesome reels.

2023 Shimano Vanquish Review and Initial Thoughts
I have two of the 19 Vanquish 2000s and they have been great reels. The stop and go retrieve is what makes these reels shine. I'm waiting for the new 23 Vanquish 2000s model to become available. If it's as good as you said, I may pick up an extra one also.

Do most trout/panfish rods not have a hook keep?
JDM styles dont come with hook keepers. The 13 fishing panfish rod is modeled after JDM rods. I have two of the panfish rods myself. Just get a cheap Fuji hook keeper or just use the frame on the guides. I usually just put my hook on the first stripper guide frame.

Why did they stop making 5:1 power gear ratio baitcasting reels?
I think most companies stopped making them because they didn't sell as well. The trend is towards faster and faster reels- at least here in the US. In Japan, some models are still offered in 5 gear ratios. I like 5 gear raio reels as well. Spinnerbaits, catterbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits- all on 5 gear ratio reels.

Monkey wants a new spinning reel
The new Essence XR looks promising but my vote is for the new Vanquish. They are suppose to be released in June. I'll definitely pick up one or two.

Need Advice For Spinning Reel
I own both Daiwa and shimano spinning reels. Cheap to expensive. You wont go wrong with either one. The Vanford is a good reel for the price. Shimano reels seem to remain tight and smooth with age. Daiwa's have a tendency to loosen up a little with age. Unless you are using a straight retrieve lure, you probably won't notice it. Since you like shimano's, stick with the Vanford or get a JDM equivalent like the Complex XR or Soare XR.

Zodias or Exbride?
If you want sensitivity for senkos, then go poison adrena. I didn't find any of the Zodias models to be all that sensitive- I no longer own any Zodias rods. The exprides are better. The expride B in the 6'10" med has a fast enough action and a stiff enough backbone that it would make a decent senko rod. The A model in the 6'10" was slightly more limber and I wouldn't recommend it for soft plastics. The poison adrena 6'10 med and 6'11" med + , both would probably work for you. Both are super lightweight and fairly sensitive.

anyone use their travel rods more as a "full time" rod?
I purchased a megabass triza hibali and have been using it as a regular rod in my boat. It's a nice light rod with decent sensitivity so why not. It bends like a one piece rod with no flat areas in the blank. I have it paired with a daiwa airity 2000S. It's a beautiful matching combo. I also have several two piece rods that I never take apart.

Crankbait, Jerk bait colors.
I throw shad raps alot in the winter. I generally stick to four colors: Shad for more clear water. Helsinki shad for slight stain. Hot steel for more stained Firetiger for most stained. As for jerkbaits, I stick to shad or minnow colors since i mainly use them in more clear waters. I dont feel i need a million different colors for each lure.

For fishing tiny creeks on a light setup/1000 sized reel do you prefer mono or fluro?
I use mono on my creek setups. Its easier to manage and cheaper. Plus, being such light line, it would be hard for the fish it see anyway. Also any kink in light fluro could lead to broken line. Mono is more forgiving.

How to get handle off 2006 Quantum Energy baitcaster?
Try looking behind the handle between the drag star. If there is no nut on the front, then sometimes there's two screws on the back of the handle that hold it on.

Is the Shimano Stradic 1000 much smaller in profile than the 2500?
The T knob is only on 3000 size and above. The USA 1000 size reels have the small paddle knobs. Some of the JDM 1000 size reels have the tiny thin finesse knobs.
