Just because a reel comes out doesn't mean you have to buy it. I'm still using my core 100's and 50's. As well as several 50e variants. But on another note I do also have several aldebaran and two bantam mgls.

I'm surprised that more manufacturers don't offer a true silver blade. Silver blades do produce a more white flash. For some reason nickle blades are the norm. I believe the blades on a rooster tail is also a silver finish. It has a nice flash to it, like the Mepps.

Why sell the reel? Unless you hate that other reel, just keep it for a spare. It never hurts to have an extra reel.

Lower gear ratios provide more torque. You won't be wore out at the end of the day. That being said, all my cranking reels are in the 5 gear ratios.

I have two 1000 ci4+ on two 6'10" med light exprides. The combos weight a little over 9 oz. each. Super lightweight and sensitive. One for drop shots, one for ned rigs, shakey heads.

I have not heard of any new shimano reels being released in the $200 price range. It would be awesome to have a 70 series curado I though.

I still throw the jelly worm and the augertail. Two of my preferred smaller 6" worms. I rig the jelly worms weightless and on Carolina rigs. I'll texas rig the augertails. As far as floating- I'm not sure if they float. None of mine ever has.

I throw jerkbaits on both baitcasting and spinning reels. I usually throw the smaller jerkbaits on spinning tackle. My combo consists of a black 6'8" med cumara rod and stradic 1000FL with 10 lbs braid. I'll throw smaller x-raps and other light weight jerkbaits on it. I also use this combo for smaller 1/4 oz or less blade baits.

I find the SV spools kind of slow for my liking. I'm not a fan. Not sure why daiwa thinks people are too dumb to know how to adjust a cast control knob. So they have to set it "perfect" from the factory. It's just a marketing gimmick for those who are less experienced casters.

I had a steez sv and it was too tight for my liking. I loosened the cast control knob just a bit to free up the spool a little. I prefer a more free spool. It's kind of silly to me. The zero adjustment knob just seems like a marketing gimmick. At the end of the day it still just a cast control knob.

Both are great reels. Both cast great. I have one hypermag left and got rid of my chronarch. I didn't like the way the chronarch palms. It's just me but I didn't like the sharp lines on the left side plate. It dug into my fingers when retrieving. The hypermag palms great to me. Its light weight and smooth. Not a fan of the knobs but that's easy to change. I put a daiwa handle on it. In the end, it's up to personal preference.

I took my stradic 1000FL apart the other day to grease and oil. After I put it back together, it was making a rasping sound. I took it apart again to see what was wrong. Couldnt find anything. Putting it back together, I didn't tighten some of the screws as much as before. Problem solved- no more irritating rasping noise.

No. I have both the regular and mgl models I really can't tell much, if any difference. The spools are already small and lightweight in both reels already.

I haven't tried the bad shad, but usually do pretty good with a shad rap. I usually throw the #5 and sometimes the #7. I throw the #5 on spinning tackle and the #7 on light baitcast gear. I also like the regular flicker shad. I use the #4, #5 and #7. I like the fact that it has rattles and works better in stained waters. Plus the colors are unlimited. I also have good luck with the strike king lucky shad. My favorite color is the natural shad. The sexy shad color also seems to do pretty good. I will alternate between the different lures to see which one catches on a certain day.

I use a 7'2 shimano mh exage and a 7'2" mh expride. Both rods are light and sensitive enough to distinguish the bottom. I prefer a more stiffer fast action because I mainly fish woody areas.

The 3000 has the T knob while the 2000 has the smaller I knob. That's probably the main thing you will notice. But you can always change them out. I have the 2000 and wish it had the bigger T knob

I use mine for jerkbaits and topwaters. No issues here. I think a lot of other guys use it for jerkbaits too. It does a good job at it. Tip is fast enough to move the lures well and blank has enough flex to keep the fish hooked.

Is there going to be a new CI4+ coming out this year? So far there's no new info on one yet. Usually they start putting the old model on sell when the new model is about to come out. It may just be wishful thinking.

I have the 7'2" ml, 7'2" mh and 6'10" m. It's hard to choose just one because they all serve a different purpose. They are all good for what I use them for. 7'2" ml for small plastics. 7'2" mh for t-rigs, jigs, buzzbaits, etc. 6'10" m for jerkbaits, topwater. If I had to choose just one, it would be the 7'2" mh. Its probably the most versatile one. You can do alot with that one model.

I'm pretty sure "Big Fish" should take care of this for you. I have ordered from them several times and never had an issue. They should send you a return label since it's a manufacturer's defect.

Not a bad price for $315, give or take a little due to the exchange rate. Digitaka normally has great prices. Might have to pick up at least two when they become available.

If still loud put a drop of oil on the brake race. One of my 100 size started making a horrible noise when casting. On the retreive it was normal and quite. I put a drop of oil on the brake race and swabbed it around with a Q-tip and problem was solved. Cast as quite as before.

Maybe you should've been looking at a 21' nitro.

Honestly you cant go wrong with daiwa or shimano. They are both good. It's all about personal preference. I have reels from both and can say they both equally as smooth and nice. One thing to think about is that the Daiwa Lt frames that are made of the carbon light material is kind of flimsy. They reduced the material to save on weight. For normal bass fishing, it shouldn't be much of an issue. The revros LT does have a thicker frame but not as light as the other LT reels. It is more solid feeling though. The daiwa Zaion body reels are pretty solid and super light.
