  1. Night is best. But I will fish early mornings too.The fish are usually more active after the cool of night than in the late afternoon after the heat of the day. Primarily, I start the day with a pad crasher. Two patterns I use though if I'm still out after 11 a.m : • I fish a big ribbon tail worm very slowly in deep holes. This is for quality fish. • I skip under boat docks, primarily with a 4 inch senko or a fluke. This is for numbers. I also find shade with some deep water nearby as a third pattern.
  2. My mom died at 96 years old and had dementia but it came on very slowly starting in her 80s. Dad was almost 90 when he passed due to a stroke. Before the stroke his mind was probably 95% intact. I am 57 now, and at times it seems I'm going to take after my mom. I can tell you some stories already ( if I could only remember them )? With my financial situation, I'll probably never retire, unless forced to. My dad retired, and lived 29 years after that. My biggest concern is ever being a burden to my family. Hopefully the Lord will come for me before that !☺
  3. I do better with gill colored baits and small live ones in my area .But their favorite is Golden shiners. A strange thing I've noticed is that when I try shiner colored baits the fish seem to ignore it. We have several varieties of bream here and I have fished with all of them.Their favorite is female gills. Least favorite is Redbreast.
  4. Nice ! @Beaufoshow got a 7.11 at Palestine last week. You ever fish any of those Osceola ponds?
  5. I have used mono mostly throughout my life. My experience with it has been that the lighter I go, the more bites I get. That was nearly always my experience in clear to moderately clear water. In the st Johns and other tannic stained waters it didn't seem to matter at all. I don't use floro because I like floating line for the techniques I use. Not sure about braid. I have it on a few combos. I'm currently leaning a little to it being more visible, even though friends tell me it isn't. I definitely dont catch the numbers that I do with 8-10 pound mono.I tend to lose more fish with braided line too for some reason. I really like the yo-zuri hybrid line, which acts like mono to me and floats. I can use 8, and it has like 11 pound tensile strength. Get plenty of bites, and rarely have one break off.
  6. 8 ^^^ ( helps if you like elvis)
  7. I finally did it thanks to@lo n slo Love this one too !
  8. That's what someone else said too. I can copy but I can't find paste . My grandson couldn't find it either, and he is my technology support.
  9. Sounds like you like guitar pickin. Look up Billy Strings on YouTube. He's my latest find on there on guitar. He sounds the most like Crary to me.But his newer stuff is a little too progressive for me.Jake Workman's good too. I would post some good songs but even though some have tried to help, I just cant figure it out. How do you do it @lo n slo ?
  10. I throw em out, let em sink to the bottom, wait 10-15 seconds, then if no fish I will either reel it steadily back to the boat , trying different speeds, or reel it a few feet, let it sink, and repeat. I catch probably 80% of the fish just dead sticking it, around 15% while retrieving steadily to the boat, and the other 5% with the stop and go retrieve.
  11. It helps me remember who I am and where I live !
  12. We currently have a favorite country artist thread going, so why not bluegrass too ? I know it's a smaller market ( Not sure why) but Ive loved it since I heard Rocky top as a kid . ( bless your heart Vols fans ) I really like traditional bluegrass like the Stanley bros, Flatt and Scruggs, Ricky Skaags, Alison Krause and a lot of lesser known artists that you tube has helped me find. ESPECIALLY instrumentals. Also a fan of an even less popular style, which is called "old time " , where much of bluegrass came from. ( Appalachia, and before that the British isles.) What about y'all ?
  13. A small chunk of cut bluegill works best for me. At night. The catfish may get there first though.?
  14. Haven't done it in years, but when I did, any kind of fly in white worked well...
  15. Where I live, when Azaleas bloom the bass will be on or near the beds. ESPECIALLY AROUND A FULL MOON.
  16. No thank you. It seems the fisherman would be caught more than the fish.
  17. I've watched bass spawn around the full moon in the spring for 40+ years. Scientific study or not, it happens.Got 5 beds around my property right now to prove it. It doesn't mean they don't bed at all unless there's a full moon because they do. It's just at PEAK during full moons.
  18. I caught an 8 1/2 last year on a 4 inch senko. Only bite I have gotten in 2 hours of fishing in that pond. I also caught a 8 1/2 to 9 pound fish on a 12 inch Mann's jelly worm with about 1 1/2 inch cut off it. I have probably caught more fish over 4 pounds with a zoom super fluke than any other bait. But if I wanted to catch a big fish real badly and real quickly, I would use a live shiners or live bluegill ( check local laws first )?

The way I do it is resize the pic with the photo resize app.. Then, I post it on Bass resource gallery. Then go to the thread you desire to post on then" insert other media." Then hit " insert existing attachment " then "attachment location " then " gallery images " and you can post it. Its the only way I can do it on my phone. I used to be able just to go to the thread, hit insert other media, documents, pictures, and post it. Not sure why it changed.
  20. Didn't think I was going to get out today but I was able to go late this pm. Got 8 total. 1 on an orange sparkle 4 inch senko, and several on a June bug trick worm, including 3 off the same blown down tree.Got the rest on the watermelon seed zoom super fluke, including this one.
  21. I was thinking the same thing !
