  1. Defiantly use a fluid bed!!!! The finish is much more uniform and you won't be throwing away as many jigs after you inspect them for quality. Just using the jar allows he paint to clump, where the fluid bed keeps the paint moving and doesn't give it he chance to build up more than it is needed. I made my own fluid bed and there are tons of articles out there on making them, but i have always wondered if a store bought bed would be any better. Harshman
  2. Are you painting your own heads???? I use powder paint and will never go back to liquid paints if I don't have to. if you are buying your heads already painted then try and find on that matches the color you need. I agree that a brown head will look funny on that color skirt.....but who knows you might have the next big trend Harshman
  3. I'm heading down there tonight to spend the weekend. I'll give you a folow up on Monday if it will help any. Harshman
  4. My wife and I will be there....with the Basshound. Harshman
  5. The BassHound can't wait to get its revenge on that *^#@ lake. Hopefully this year will be better for all, well all with the exception of Mike, that is unless he is fishing with one of my jigs then he can take second behind me Harshman
  6. Thank You guys for your opinions. My boat is a 19' Charger with a 12 volt tm 42 lbs thrust. It seems that there are as many pros and cons to having two batteries Harshman
  7. A Ribbit Frog is my #1 topwater bait. Looks like a frog acts like a buzzbait it is awesome. Harshman
  8. Definatly black n blue and maybe a little purple added in for contrast. Make sure you get a jig with a decent weed guard and fan it out a little to keep from getting snagged as often. I agree with the flip and pitch and let it sink and then just raise it back out of the tree slowly banging it off of every limb you come in contact with. In this situation you can get away with a heavy braided line to get those fish out easier and faster once you hook up. Harshman
  9. Larry My dealer was trying to tell me that the amount of run time I would get out of the second battery would not be woth the extra weight and cost in the boat...... Logicly I would think it would be but I am not very knowledgable when it comes to batteries. Harshman
  10. I'm getting ready to replace my TM batteries in my boat and would like some input please. The original set up had 2 batteries for one 12 volt TM. Is there any advantage to having 2 batteries for this sort of setup? or should I just by 1? I would think that the 2 batteries would give me more time on the water, but my dealer is telling me otherwise. Please any advice would be helpful. I guess my main hang up is to buy 2 - $60 batteries or get the biggest and best single batteries I can find for $100. Harshman

  15. Looks like a great line up so far, Val how many boats did we end up with last year? This looks like we are gonna have alot more.
  16. One more thing was it decided on to make this a pay tourney or are we gonna do the same as last year with the big ole' bag o' baits???? Personally I like the bait idea more braggin rights that way and it doesn't seem to hurt as bad as just handing money to someone..... of keeping it Harshman
  17. I would be in favor of dropping the limit to a 3 fish limit ilo of 5 to make things a little more interesting....and since it was hard enough last time to catch one let alone five I have fished a few 3 bag tournaments and they keep the weights alot closer at the end and makes for a little more drama Harshman
  18. great looking baits. Harshman
  19. Most bass boats when they are on plane are riding on a "pad" under the hull. The problem with waxing sounds silly but it does not allow the boat to come out of the water and get on plane as easy causing it to ride lower in the water and thus dragging down performance. common sense tells you other wise but I've actually seen this happen on several ocasions both with myself and on friends boats to see a common problem Harshman
  20. Just make sure not to wax below the water line of the boat it will hurt your performance for a little while until the wax is rubbed off. I use Meguirs on my boat and it works great, all quality waxes have a Uv protectant in them, you might want to use a good cleaner/wax and maybe rubbing compound to get a good clean surface before waxing. 21. If your' gonna spend this kind of money look into a Bass Hound 10.2 I think cabela's even carries them now. I bought one use and will never go back to a jon boat these boats are awesome. Stable , durible, they handle really well in the wind and tons of built in features. then I found a cheap flat bed trailer ilo of a specific boat trailer that costs twice as much and I can use it for more than just the boat. Trailer launches like a normal boat trailer. Harshman
  22. you must show us how to do that that is so cool. I want all of my rods to look like that...did I mention that that is so cool. Harshman
  23. Screw loc is the way to go aand yes there are alot of quality hooks in a 60 degree and a lot wider selection in that bend then there are in the 28 degree bends hooks. I've never heard of a silicone mold for pouring lead...how do they last with the heat??? All of mine are either do-it molds or ones I have had cnc'd Harshman
  24. Suffix is the only braid I will ever use. I even have had it on a few reels two years now and it looks just as good as the day I put it on, and I fish somewhere 3-4 times a week. Harshman
  25. I have three Johnny Morris BC's all ranging 3yrs old and newer ( bought one each of the past three fishing seasons) and the are still working great no complaints. Wish I had five more. The Rick Clunn BC's are really good to. Harshman
