Loomis crankbait rods
Unless your a pro or got a money tree out back a highly sensitive crankbait rod isn't a necessity. Get yourself a nice NRX bottom contact rod with your discount.

Loomis crankbait rods
As much as I like spending someone else's money I can't think of a good reason to tell you to get the GLX crankbait rod. Get the E6x and save your cash for a GLX bottom contact rod.

Swinging jighead
What type of retrieve do you use? Slow and steady?

Swinging jighead
What is the best situation to use the swinging jighead ie like the Gene Larew Biffle hardhead? I bought some last year but never had a chance to use them. I definitely want to give them a shot in 2017.

The perfect wacky spinning rod

KVD's hooks for senkos on Cuyuga Lk
I just watched the episode on YouTube the other day. He had a weight with the senko. I want to say it was a sliding weight and not a pegged weight.

KVD's hooks for senkos on Cuyuga Lk
Does anyone know offhand what type of hooks KVD was using on his senkos when he won the tournament on Cuyuga Lk in New York this summer? Otherwise I will have to re watch that episode. It had either a centering pin or corkscrew on the eyelet.

Rage Tail Swimmers
For a swim jig trailer do you rig it as its designed to swim? I saw something for chatterbait trailers that you should rig it upside down to reduce the amount of tail kick so it doesn't throw off the cadence of the chatterbait. (if that makes sense)

Best paddletail swimbaits
What's your favorite? I've only used Keitech and they work well just wondering if I'm missing out on some other brand.

Best bang for buck spinning reel
From all the reading I've done on this site it seems that the Pflueger President is the best reel at that price point. Personally I like to fish Shimano Stradic reels but you can add another $100 to get to that price point.

Best Line to Use for Finesse Fishing (spinning reel)
Use braid to a fluorocarbon leader. I used to fish straight fluorocarbon but switched to this the past fishing season and it works great.
- Underspins?

Crankbait Rod
Length is a personal preference but I'd pick either a M or MH moderate fast rod depending on your weed growth. If I was picking out this rod 7' to 7'3" would be my preference.

Loomis E6X thoughts
That's a good price. I picked one up and almost bought it for $180 even though I didn't need another rod. Yah I'd buy one if I were you. Maybe even both. I like to throw my Keitech swimbaits on a moderate fast action rod too. I just keep reeling as they eat it and the rod loads up.

Aetos rods $100 off
Just curious of anyone has the Aetos and G Loomis E6x and how those two rods would compare?

Ideas for more quality combos like the ones I own
I would add a quality bottom contact rod. With the Tacklewarehouse sale going on right now you could add a St Croix Avid X rod of your choice for $160. That or a Dobyns Champion for $199.

Line recommendations please
Hybrid lines like the Yozuri for crankbaits. Much cheaper than fluorocarbon.
-
Which st Croix??
Yah that's a great deal though. They are both excellent rods. I give a slight edge to G Loomis because they carry in between sizes. I've become a fan of the 7'3" to 7'5" size rods.

Still a little confused..
I think bass fishing has gotten confusing with this ideal that there is one best rod for a certain technique. When we were young we threw spinning gear for everything not only, senkos/worms, tubes, but crankbaits, spinnerbaits, top water. Maybe not ideal they still caught lots of fish in Michigan.
-
Which st Croix??
No G Loomis or Shimano discount though

Still a little confused..
Also, if you are truly a rookie you are getting in way over your head. Just pick up one or two new techniques each season and try to master them. For example if you want to increase your confidence in finesse fishing only bring two rods to the lake, a Ned rig and a drop shot. It seems more overwhelming trying to learn everything at once like you are.
-
Which st Croix??
Thanks for that. The ad said the were excluded but you're correct adding it to cart showed the discount. I don't understand!

Still a little confused..
And MDRookie realize there are no right or wrong answers to your questions it's all based on preference. What works for A-Jay may not work for Darren. For example, everyone and their mother seems to think you have to drop shot with a 6'10" ML rod. Personally I use a 7'3" M rod that works great for me. Others may like to use 6'6" casting rods. Personally I like 7'6" rod or longer. As others have mentioned just get out there and see what works for you.
