Double Keitech rig
I was still envisioning a slow and steady retrieve.

Double Keitech rig
Okay so I'm familiar with the effectiveness of the donkey rig or double fluke rig. I was curious if anyone has ever tried a double Keitech swimbait rig. If one Keitech is good it would make sense that two would be better . Any thoughts?

Anyone know whats going on with GLX rods
How do I know what a demo rod is? When I buy a NRX on sale from TW for $337 does that mean it's a demo rod? There was never an indication of that. It was sold as a new rod but for the price it makes me wonder.

GLX vs NRX
My GLX showed up today for less than $300 it's a very nice rod. However, one of my NRX'S I bought for $332 so probably not at that level. At this point when I see a deal like that I'm looking at this is likely a fishing rod I'll have for the next few decades.

need a quality medium cranking rod.
With the deals that Monster Fishing Tackle is running on the GLX rods you can pick up the 783C for $276. Sign up for the mailing list and it will bring the cost down another $25. That's a pretty sweet deal.

GLX vs NRX
What is the difference in sensitivity level of the GLX versus NRX? Also for the price how do they compare? I already own 2 NRX'S due to sales I was forced to buy. Now I was in the same dilemma with the GLX too. The force that the rod monkey possess was more than I could handle Anyway, will I be disappointed with the GLX since I already have the best? Thanks.

Finesse Spinning Outfit
What Keith said or a BPS combo like the Carbonlite or Johnny Morris. You really can't go wrong with any of those 3 choices. I'd stick in the 6'10" to 7'2" range. Either ML or M fast or Xtra fast tip.

Looking for replacement spinning rod!
The Avid X is a good choice or if you check out Monster Fishing Tackle you could get a GLX 802s (6'8") medium fast with a MSRP of $410 for $265 if you join the mailing list. Otherwise just use Promo code 25newC. I just ordered myself a GLX 902s jwr for $290 myself. For the record if your budget is $200 I'm that guy that will try to get another $65 out of you

- Is there a good reason to have a closed face reel in your arsenal?
No- Opinions on Dobyns 735c (new member)
- Anyone know whats going on with GLX rods
A few of the bigger distributers like American Legacy Fishing and Monster Fishing Tackle have been blowing out these rods at a pretty good discount. Anybody know if they are changing out the model? For the price I just picked up a 7'6" GLX spinning rod for under $300. Thats a pretty sweet deal for that long of a rod.- Thinking about trying a dobyns
Lol. We're pretty much giving the exact advice every Fury post. But seriously getting a Tatula for the same cost of the Fury is a no brainer.- Opinions on Dobyns 735c (new member)
- Best combo Rod for Frogging Carolina Rigging Etc.
Yep. The Daiwa Tatula 7'4" H/F frog rod can be had for $110 at Sportman's Outfitters. $90 gives you plenty of options for a decent reel.- My testimonial...
Is your preference to bury the hook parallel or perpendicular to the worm? Does it matter?- STATE OF CONFUSION
I don't know if it's coincidence or not but I upped my rods from $100 rods this offseason to my best 3 spinning rods are 2 NRX'S and an IMX. Last year I finished middle of the pack in my club standings 13/28. At the first event last Saturday I would have taken 1st place and big fish of the day but one of my fish died so the penalty dropped me to 3rd. Can I say immediately if having two $550 rods is what made a difference? No. We'll see what happens over the course of the tournament season.- STATE OF CONFUSION
If you think that you'll want to continue to get better stuff I'd save up for the best you can afford up front. It will save you from buying a $50 rod, then a $100 rod then a $150 rod. Just buy the best you can afford upfront. Oh by the way go to Sportman's Outfitters online and you can get a $150 Daiwa Tatula rod for $110 and I believe it's free shipping too.- Looking for Reel suggestions 8.0.1 or higher
Check out the Daiwa Tatula CT. They are starting to show up on Ebay for less than the $129.99 MSRP. In fact I see them for $110.- Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice
The best advice I can give you that I wish someone gave me is try not to pay retail. There are lots of deals out there, whether you buy gently used or new over the Internet. I do suggest you go to a store first and put your hands on the rod before you buy online.- Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice
Best of luck with your new purchases. You have to watch yourself as you get more advanced as an angler because pretty soon you will be fighting off urges to purchase high end rods and reels. Then after that will be your JDM purchases- G Loomis GLX
Actually if you guys are still interested they have an even better deal on Monster Fishing Tackle. You can get it for under $300 and sign up for the mailing list and you'll save another $25.- G Loomis GLX
Yep. Saved you money apparently sold out. A buddy of mine told me they were blowing out the Stradic FJ's for $99.99. I had one in my cart but was trying to find a promo code to save another $10 or more. And then they sold out.- G Loomis GLX
Maybe a new model is coming. I just saw the deal online not in store. Believe it or not but Dick's Sporting Goods also sells Megabass rods but I've never seen any in store. - Is there a good reason to have a closed face reel in your arsenal?
