jig and senko rod under 150 bucks
I'd be looking at a Powell at that price range.

inflatable PFD's - Mustang, Sospenders, etc.
I wear a Mustang Tournament 100% of the time when fishing alone...hot or cold, it just makes sense. Mine is not the hydrostatic type but I haven't had a problem as of yet after two years of use but I will rearm it soon here to be safe....goin to Cabelas today actually. Another thing to look at is how much buoyancy the vest has. It is said that 25lbs will right some people face up and 35lbs will right most people.

Chronarch MG or Curado E7
I bought a new 201E7....returned it in exchange for a 51MG

How about a comparison
I got a new 201E7 yesterday and out of the box...its not even close to the same quality as my 101D's. If I where to buy again, i'd opt for another 101D curado or ebay a 101B chronarch.

Left Hand E7?
Limited numbers of 201E curados available now from what I see here and on eBay....201E Citicas are due late nov/ early dec.

Anybody fishing Kansas or Missouri?
we fished this lake this week and only caught 3 dinks. we fished the whole lake tossing everything but the kitchen sink. are you fishing the docks? The bite did seem off some last weekend. I don't fish the docks much anymore but thats not to say there isn't any fish on them....they just get fished alot. I fish along the rocks including the dam face. The point just to the left of the east ramp holds fish here lately as does the west bank rocks on the main body of the lake. I catch fish going into the stick up cove as well on the left side. Been fishing big black and blue plastics t-rigged for the most part...paca craws and brushhogs. Now this info works for me but I fish super early mornings if not nights. I haven't been on the water past 8:30am in two months. Good luck.

Anybody fishing Kansas or Missouri?
Did some night fishing at Lonestar over the weekend. Friday AM I had 23 in hand and lost several including one in the 4 to 5 pound range...line snapped at boat. Went back out monday AM and had 21 in hand including my first elusive Lonestar small mouth which came in at 4lb,4oz ;D...caught another 4lb,2oz LM a few hours later but didn't seem to be big deal compared to the smallie I caught earlier that night.

using lights at night
I use a cheap 7 buck head lamp from wallyworld that has red and white LED's. I only use it to unhook a fish or to work my tackle and almost always with the red LED. White light jacks your night vision and depending on the season, it can give you a face of bugs. I try not to fish new moons.

Falcon Speed Bags ????????
I have both a V12 that I use in my boat and a V6 that I use on fishing trips on someone elses boat. Kinda pricey I think but it is the only bag out there sized to fit their boxes correctly. Their boxes work well but I do have more than one broken latch on them now. Alot of plastic going on with the divider system that makes them heavy. My V12 is full and is no carry bag for sure....35lbs.

BEST GRIPPER/SCALE?? What do you use?
I got a cheap Econoscale gripper from BPS. Functions great for its 15 dollar price tag. The Boca's sure look nice but a 120 bucks is alot for a scale with a 1/4lb resolution.

KC Area Fishers
No need to travel out to Lonestar....it took me nearly 3.5 hours yesterday to catch 15 fish

Leader To Braid Length
I use a fluorocarbon leader on my braid and I make it just short enough to keep the splicing knot from entering my reel, on baicasters that is. This will give me enough leader to do a few reties before coming to short. I've found that the knots don't like going though the level wind guide on my reels that well during casts. No such worrys on my spinning reels however.

Mustang survival tourney life vest
I have a Mustang and I wear it 100% while fishing alone or in cold water. I've been in the rain with it on more than a few times with no problems but I've only owned it for a year now. I find it comfortable in all but the hottest of weather...then its gets alittle uncomfortable around the neck but I would imagine they all do.

St Croix Avid or Carrot Stix LTX???
Have you looked at a Powell. Their at the same price range as the Avids and Carrots. Seen some last weekend at Cabelas...probably the nicest constructed production rod I've seen.

Digital fish scales
I watched Roland endrose a Boga Grip on one of his shows and he had a Berkley lip grip in his hand...LOL! I'd probably buy the X-Tool scale myself if I had the need for a new scale. The Boga grips sure are pretty but they only weigh in 1/4 pound increments. With that kind of resolution, my cheap 15 dollar lipper I bought at BPS does the same job.

Wide Gap vs regular worm hooks
Gammy EWG for the most part but I bought some Gammy G-Locks towards the end of last season and really liked them better yet.

Cabelas XML & Mag Touch MH for Jigs & Worms
My local Cabelas had Carrots in stock but I wasn't impressed at all. Big news is that Cabelas now carries Powell rods and man,are they super nice. Probably the nicest constructed production rod I've seen and they felt great IMO. I would of bought Powells instead of the GLoomis Mossybacks for my xmas if they would of had them in stock at the time. One thing I won't buy unseen or felt is rods.

Cabelas XML & Mag Touch MH for Jigs & Worms
I looked over the Mag Touch rods last night at Cabelas. I kinda like them, the build looked pretty good to me and the graphite grip had a nice texture to it so I don't think it would be as slipperly as one would expect. I don't think I seen a $100 rod with alconite guides before but some how Cabelas has made this happen. I liked them alot but I didn't buy one just yet....still recovering from the two Mossybacks and the Curado I bought myself for xmas.

Shimano Cumara
I had a Cabela sponsored pro tell me yesterday that Loomis made the blanks for the Cabela XML rods.. : Really nice guy but full of you know what. Speaking of Cumara's...I looked at them xmas time but bought two GLoomis Mossybacks instead. Something just didn't seem right in my hands. Could of been the EVA or whatever it is foam grips...?

On the PFD subject
Funny..I thought all inflatables were considered type V's. Wonder whats makes the cabelas model different from the others to be classified as a type III ?
