  1. I've had people stand in front of me while putting my hand around it, ducked down into my open jacket to shield the match, etc, etc...Sometimes you just HAVE to have a torch when you smoke outside.
  2. I thought it was cool but I didn't feel like there was any structure to it. I was sanding/painting stuff when I watched it but it seemed like it was just a bomb call after bomb call for the most part. I wanted some sort of plot or nemesis or something. Maybe I just need to watch it again.
  3. Ever try lighting a cigar with matches in the wind? Virtually impossible on a boat. Torch lighters are almost impossible to blow out so they are great when its windy. Were you using a single match? I've set a whole book of matches on fire and failed to light a cigar before...Some days you just need a torch.
  4. check out what I just won: http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=843641 12 Graycliffs for $19...

  6. That's a great deal on a great rod ghoti. My friend is obsessed with those rods. That's kind of an odd model for a baitcasting rod. I would probably use it for topwaters like someone else suggested but I imagine it would work for finesse stuff too.
  7. I have a Colibri Profusion but I'm not fond of it. I'm hoping to relpace it with a Bugatti or Xikar soon enough.
  8. just smoked a Gurkha Signature 101 Maduro
  9. the hints aren't totally random on jeopardy.
  10. I guess he's implying that Thai was smoking the whacky tabaccy?
  11. I just saw them on Cigarbid's home page.
  12. When I first started smoking cigars I got a 5er of 5 Vegas Golds, and didn't care for those at all. Then after a while I got some 5 Vegas Miami's and those are a real peppery cigar. Like heavy pepper. Still have some of those sitting in the bottom. Since then I just have been wanting to try other stuff and haven't bought anymore 5 Vegas. The A's are a good maduro, give them a shot. I forgot to mention when I said the Miamis were really peppery, that I don't like a cigar with that much pepper. I'm sure some do but just not my cup of tea. haha But I'll have to try those thanks! I knew what you meant. I wouldn't really call the Series A "peppery."
  13. I was not a fan of either of the Olivas that I've tried. Aaron, what about these?

  15. jealous/sad i don't have more fillets.
  16. nice Aaron! Have you smoked a Status yet?
  17. I actually want to try that. That and Padron. (whenever I get the money order one. ;D) I gotta tell you guys this story. When I was in Mexico, I wanted hook myself up with a Cuban cigar, and there was a street vendor selling tequila and cigars. I bargained with him for a while on the Cohiba. He was trying get me buy a whole box, and I told him "I cannot smoke all these before I get back into the United States." He replied "You can take three back into the State, if you have 4 U.S. Custom will confiscate them." The Cohiba I had, had "Cuba" written on the wrapper, the ones you can buy from Thompson Cigar company has a Dominican Republic wrapper. Which reminds me, I don't think there is a major different between cigars with Cuba written on them and Dominican Republic. simple solution: take the wrappers off. they can't prove where it came from without a wrapper.
  18. Robert, see if you can get your hands on some Graycliffs as well. Also, I highly recommend Alec Bradley Select Cabinet Reserve. Aaron, I've got a churchill for you to try.
  19. still waiting Aaron....and I wanna see ALL your boxes, not just one. ;D nice sticks, Nick. You have a few of the Gurkhas that I have yet to try (Triple Ligero, The Beast, Warlord) Anyone tried one of the new Gurkhas? I just found two new cigars and the guy at the store said they were new. One was called the "Assassin" and the other was called "Killer." I had a "Killer" and it was pretty awesome. I think next on my list are Man O' Wars, Gurkha Microbatches, and more CI Legends Series from Graycliff. I really liked the Legends Graycliff. Nick, it seems like you might like full flavored cigars. Try 5 Vegas' "A" series. Fairly cheap and pretty good.
  20. I just took the cellophane wrappers off of my sticks at soccerplayer's suggestion. I didn't know that was supposed to help. Hopefully that will help regulate my humidity too. My humidity levels have been low lately. I wanna see some more humi pics. Aaron, I know you've got a picture worthy stash... btw Aaron, I also got a 5 stick travel humidifier that is waterpoof and floats...
  21. Josh, that was a Graycliff G2. Soccerplayer introduced me to them and I immediately went out and bought more. and I completely agree, Robert is absolutely "the most interesting man in the world" from the Dos Equis commercials.
  22. Their is a difference between "aid" and "relief." Right now, I would imagine almost 100% of the money that has been donated is going to "relief"-- meaning food, water, shelter, and emergency services. If we were just talking about aid I might agree with this guy, but this money being used to save lives IMMEDIATELY.
