  1. I really like the Perfexion but it's hard to find around me.
  2. a double horseshoe/pit dip. very impressive....but I almost threw up.
  3. Here's a 2009 Premier for $150 http://www.simmonssportinggoods.net/servlet/the-9570/ABU-GARCIA-REVO-PRM/Detail
  4. Well then I know what I'm bringing the next time I come out to the boonies. My grandparents live in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch-land so they've got a line on some prem-o stuff.
  5. wha-wha-what?!?! You're telling me they make canned ham salad? Is it as good as regular ham salad?
  6. I've heard stories like yours about their service but it sounds as if they will not offer the same service for the Z-Bone rods. It seems odd to me to offer LESS of a warranty on the flagship rod than on the lower tier rods.
  7. 3 month old ham salad. That must have smelled awesome... mmmm....ham salad. Now I'm hungry.
  8. yeah but having those patrols would keep me from worrying too much about my vehicle sitting at the ramp for hours while I'm fishing.
  9. Unless they are there 24/7, patrols don't help a lot. One of the ramps I spoke of earlier is about 5 miles from the VA/KY state line. Secluded to say the least. It is patrolled somewhat regularly. That still doesn't stop a lot of the problems that contribute to the location's reputation. I know of one TVA ramp that gets patrolled every 2-3 hours by the TVA. While I've never had any problems there, I've heard of people coming in after a night of fishing to find their truck missing. I know of one on a creek arm of the P'mac that is reportedly patrolled by the local sheriffs every 15-20 minutes, but of course I know most ramps are not. If I had a boat, I'd probably look at getting a piece too.
  10. some of the ramps that I know of have routine patrols by local law enforcement.
  11. Today we had what looked to be a peregrine falcon ****** another bird from the birdfeeder. He got one in my neighbors yard a couple hours earlier also. I tried to get some pics but he took off with his lunch when I opened the door. We also had a little bird fly into the sliding glass door. I heard a loud thump and went and found a bird who was "knocked the f*#& out!" laying on my deck. I went back to check on him later and I guess I spooked him because he took off when I got close to the door. I hope he wasn't the one that the falcon got...
  12. I barely ever bring food along. Sometimes I'll bring a Mt. Dew, Gatorade, or water.
  13. he comes around every once and a while. We also have a fox as well. Pretty strange for being inside the beltway...
  14. I wouldn't buy a rod for $200 unless it had a lifetime warranty...these cost a whole lot more than that.
  15. I'd also like to know about the warranty. From the website it sounds like it might be different than the other Kistler lines.

I just shoveled out my car. Looks like I'll have to do it again tomorrow. I hate you Jay
  17. But there are possible downsides to that as well. Nano-particles penetrate different barriers within the body. Some researchers are worried that nano-particles might get stuck in different areas where they aren't supposed to be and cause unsafe chemical reactions. Nano-particles do not act the same way that the bigger versions do. For instance, a nano-particle of silver or gold can create different chemical reactions than regular particles of the same substances. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1084931/Revealed-The-toxic-nanoparticles-asbestos-like-properties-everyday-goods.html
  18. Many of the drugs approved for the treatment of cancer are also toxic. They are poisons aimed at the cancer cells, but they also may have horrendous and painful side effects. Regarding the ozone, I doubt it is solely because it is putting a toxic substance in your body. Today is the first I've heard of the ozone treatment. Nearly two and a half years ago, our son-in-law died from toxicity to a medication he was prescribed. Cholesterol meds can damage the liver. On and on the list would go. Yeah, you're right. Obviously radiation and chemo are also toxic. I'm just saying that the fact that it is indeed toxic in addition to the lack of empirical evidence might explain why it has not been widely accepted. Snook, I know what you mean. There are lots of last resorts that people with no more options will always chase after and if it gives them hope, that's great. I'm just not going to lump those solutions in with the medically proven and scientifically verified approaches.
  19. Several of us told you to have the reel replaced. "Frustrated" or just stubborn? : After searching the web, I see people are repeatedly doing this time after time to the curado E. While I understand any reel will benifit from having a qualified person service it, apparently these have a reputation for needing it in many cases out of the box. (I'm aware many don't). I was told by Bass Pro a return would be tough without the receipt and the 60 mile drive hopeing "to speak to a manager" is not a sure thing. At any rate I think I'm okay and look forward to putting her to use this year People do it to get better performance, not to get the reel to perform at all. I get not wanting to go the whole way to BPS to take a chance but by doing it with Ardent's stuff by yourself you may have voided your warranty with Shimano. With a reel that new, the best bet is always to either exchange it at the store or send it to the manufacturer.
  20. mine does not have an action printed on it. Mine has a fairly soft tip on it which I prefer for frogs but also works well with my jigs.
  21. that's fine, i just meant to say which model I had and how much I liked it.
  22. I don't get it. Another value priced rod? Why? Make a cool looking rod with a really good blank and great components! Also, I don't think I like the white. Looks too much like a wal-mart catfish special
