  1. There is a snakehead thread on the first page of this very section of the forum. Lots of snakehead discussion there already. They are being hunted for the threats they "could" pose and as a response to the sensationalized stories the media has created about them. I have it on good authority that in the Potomac, no snakeheads have been found with bass in their stomachs. Bass on the other hand, love to eat baby snakeheads. I'm not going to go into the whole "snakeheads aren't actually that bad" argument because we've beaten it to death and I would simply be restating what's already been said in other threads. Calling them "dangerous" is a joke, at least in regards to humans. They are just as likely to hurt a human as a musky, pike, or gar. "Potentially disruptive to the ecosystem" would be more accurate, but again, in the Potomac this has not been the case.
  2. 1. this is very, very old 2. no, they aren't dangerous. 3. yes, they are illegal.
  3. It seems like every other time I sign onto xbox live it says you are on there watching a movie or looking through movies.
  4. we're meeting him at 8am. I'm looking forward to fishing but I'm not looking forward to how cold it's gonna be tomorrow...
  5. good question! I'm waiting for Aaron to figure it out and let me know.
  6. Oh yeah! The 'Watch Instantly' thing is nice, but not great. I can watch movies or tv shows instantly on my computer or through my XBOX360 BUT it is a fairly limited selection and new movies almost never appear in the Watch Instantly section. Where are you Fourbizz? I know you use the Watch Instantly feature on xbox a LOT.
  7. I really like Netflix for catching up on seasons of TV shows. I just finished cruising through the first five seasons of "24" It is way cheaper to do that with Netflix than renting each DVD one at a time from the movie store. This summer I've watched several seasons of several tv shows to get myself caught up. One thing that does suck about Netflix is that you normally have to wait a couple of days to get a new movie. If I really want to see a movie the day it comes out, I'll go to Redbox and rent it for $1.
  8. Dan: replied to skunked_again's topic in Everything Else
    exactly what I was thinking.
  9. what do they do? Just send them slower? I get three discs at a time and I send them back the day after I get them. I haven't had any problems (so far)
  10. Bulky? The Citica E is almost an ounce lighter than the revo. I haven't seen the new revos but compared to the revo s out now the Citica has just as small of a profile if not smaller. I'm not talking about weight. when compared side by side the revo has a smaller profile. I was just telling him in case that might play a role in his final selection I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that reaction. My Citica E is smaller than my Revo Premier and my Revo STX and the last time I checked, they were the same size as the S.
  11. This is not florida... unfortunately...
  12. That sounds like a sweet combo, John. I'd like to check that out, especially the new Revo.
  13. true, but there's always the fact that he played Div. 1AA. Not to take anything away from him, but who is to say it would have been the same had he played in Div. 1A?
  14. Jerry Rice must have been really good, he made that list twice!
  15. welcome to the site! Great pictures and awesome fish. I wasn't aware that Italy had largemouth bass.
  16. x2 on the waiting a week or two. There were a couple occasions where the teacher wanted us to buy a book that was over $50. I looked through the syllabus and found out that we were only going to read about 50 pages of the book and I decided that wasn't worth it. Sure, I didn't have the book to read, but honestly I probably wouldn't have read most of it anyway. (Don't worry, you can still get good grades with this method MOST of the time as long as you are a good note taker and go to class). Also, check out your school's library. There were a few books that I found at the library and checked out in the first week of the semester and renewed it multiple times so I had the book for the whole semester. Inter-Library Loan is another good option. If you see on your syllabus that the professor wants you to read an entire book in a week or so, just get it through ILL, read it, and return it when you are done. It's completely free and nowadays you can usually do it through the library's website without even leaving your dorm room or apartment. As long as you are willing to plan ahead, do some research, and maybe take some extraordinarily good notes, then you can save a TON of money on books and still be able to do well in the class.
  17. What kind of tip do you like for frog rods? I've always liked soft tips on the moderate side of fast so that the rod will load up with a lightweight frog and cast well. I also feel that it allows a little give to keep from ripping the bait out of the fish' mouth when setting the hook with heavy braid. I'm seeing a lot of rods that are marketed as flipping and pitching rods/heavy cover rods that can double as frog rods but they have Extra Fast tips. I'd always thought Extra Fast would be disadvantageous for frogs because the tip would be too stiff to cast and wouldn't give with braid.... What do you guys prefer?
  18. That makes no sense....unless by "golf" she means [insert inappropriate joke about playing 18 holes] Golf isn't the problem. His character is.
  19. You could be very right. Who cares, it's just Notre Dame!
  20. I wouldn't throw a jitterbug at this time of year. I'm assuming the water will be pretty cold and the bass will be deep. Look for the deepest dropoffs you can find and fish them slowly with a soft plastic or jig. Another option would be a blade bait, spoon, or dropshot in the deepest spots but that might be hard to do from the bank. It's easiest to fish them vertically. Throw a shaky head, and see what happens. As for the crappie, try to find some cover in deep water like a tree or something. They like to hangout in trees. When you catch one, you'll likely catch more in the same spot. Also, I'm assuming the water will be dingy from our recent rains. I like to use rattles on jigs in dark water. Also, I choose darker colors then when I'm fishing clear water ie: black and blue or just black. Something with vibration, sound, flash, etc...will most likely help you in dingy water. I use the same logic for fishing at night most of the time. If you have a big swimbait, it might be a time to fish it slow and low in the water column. It might still be warm enough for a biggun to want a large meal.
  21. fixed so the okies don't swarm on you. ;D
  22. right, but he helped them do more than they probably ever thought was possible when they first came to Cincinnati. A Stewart-like situation was the first thing I thought of as well.
  23. It's impossible to say. Who is to know how good Jim Brown, Red Grange, Doak Walker, etc... would be in today's game.
  24. I know you're right. I just feel bad for the seniors at Cinci who are going to play their final game without their coach.
  25. whoa, they just said on ESPN that he is not going to be coaching at the Sugar Bowl against Florida. They gave him the coach of the year award and asked him to comment on whether or not he was going to Notre Dame and he said he didn't want to say anything. Later in the award show they said that the AD from Cinci called and told ESPN it was true. I guess the AD didn't appreciate Kelly keeping the fact that he was leaving on the down-low. That sucks. They should have waited until after the bowl game to publicize the decision.
