my complaint about the spro bronze eye frog
Both the rods I use are Gander Mtn. IM8 graphite rods. Very sturdy with fast action tip. I just got a St. croix for Christmas and I have not tried the frog in this rod yet. My reel is a Daiwa Procaster. The horny toad is okay in weight for me to throw on the BC, but the spro frog is just too light. I mean, I can throw it, but it won't go far. I have the brakes on 2 and the spool knob isn't that tight. At most, I'm only getting a 25 feet cast on the frog.

my complaint about the spro bronze eye frog
It is too, too light to throw in B.C. I'm using MH to H with 50 lb. braid and it feels like I'm casting a fly. I hate it because I can't get distance and I have to be extra soft with the cast or I'll get backlash. Anyone else feel this way or just me? Does anyone throw this on spinning gear with braid?

Zoom Salty Super Flukes
In running water, such as when fishing at a dam, I put them on a 1/4 oz. jig head and after the cast, I let the water carry my line out a little bit more. Since most dams are rocky, I twitch the rod tip occasionally to keep it from getting stuck in the rocks. The colors green and white have proved effective for me. Also, if you can get the jig heads with a fish head, instead of just the lead ball, I think you'll have better results. At least, for me, I do.

Kia and Hyundai cars
When these cars first started entering the American market, although I was not of driving age then, I was told to stay away from them. I was told they don't hold up real well and require a lot of maintanence. However, with the gas prices going up and all these new commercials featuring how far these cars have come, what do you guys think? I'm about to graduate and a brand new Hyundai starting at 13,550 or so doesn't sound too bad. I'm sure someone on here has owned one or is currently driving one of these two cars or is a mechanic who can share their experience. Thanks.

braid
Why black? Something magical with that color on braid?

eat carp
They are very popular in the Asian communities, especially amongst the Vietnamese and Laotion people. I don't like it though. Like what some of the others have said, way too many bones. I wouldn't feed it to kids. And the meat falls apart too easily. After you cook it, it's just a pile of broken up peices.

Croatian Northen pike
What really surprised me was how light the tackle looked. I have never been pike fishing but I am under the impression that you have to use heavy rods with heavy line. The rods and line looked like my bass gear. I'm curious to what the rod power is and what lb. test is being used. Maybe some of you pike fishers can clarify. Thanks.

Buying my first boat. Some advice please.
I'm planning to buy my first boat in a couple of months after graduation. I'm in need of some advice on what to get. I'm not looking for something extremely fast or to showcase. I just need something that will get on the water, won't rock back and forth too much and is quite. I've noticed the bottom of some boats have a "V" shape and some are just flat with the nose raised up a little higher. Can someone elaborate on this? What kind of motors are reliable? What kind of trolly motors are reliable? Any other words of advice you think will be helpful to a first time boat owner is appreciated. Thanks guys.

muskie/pike: northern species only?
Are these northern species only? Sucks if they are because I live in the south and I will not be fishing for them anytime soon. Thanks.

What is this on-off switch on the A.G. Amb.
My brother got this reel of ebay and it didn't come with a manual. There is a switch with an on/off option. What is that for? I've noticed when I have it on "on" the clutch comes back up automatically. Is this all it is for? Thanks.

St Croix triumph
Bow, I just got this rod for Christmas and yes it will hold stippers. I have one in heavy action, 7', paired with a Daiwa Procaster 100 and 50 lb. TUF line. My brother and I took it out to the dam hear and caught a stipper, about 13 lbs. I haven't fished with the more expensive St. Croix rods so I can't testify on the sensitivity. But, I'm with you, it sure is better than an Ugly Stick. Cheers.

your thoughts on Shimano Cardiff
I was thinking about getting this as my first round BC. For those of you who have used one, what are your thoughts about this reels performance and sturdiness? Thanks.

Must jigs be paired with trailers

Fly fishers: ever use saltwater flies for bass
Just curious because they look like something a bass might strike. I bought two, Bend Back in green and white size 2 and Deceiver in blue and white, also size 2. Just give me your thougts. If not productive, I'm gonna return them. Oh, I'll be throwing them on a 5 wt. Maybe a little too small a rod, I'm thinking. Your thoughts. Thanks guys.

Must jigs be paired with trailers
I was just curious about this, being new to jig fishing. Examples of trailers to use with jigs are the Zoom Salty Chunks, right? What is this pork skin trailer you guys are always talking about? Can't find them at Gander Mtn. Thanks.

Carp on a fly
Way to go. That big carp on a 4wt. and 4 lb. tippet. That is my trout gear. It must have been fun fighting him on light tackle.

Whats your favorite spinner bait set up???
Not to get off topic, but from the posts, you guys use fairly large lines for spinnerbaits. I've been using 6-8 lb. Is there a reason for the large lines?

rods for striper fishing
Guys, I'm thinking about retiring my first striper rod: the Daiwa Beefstick. It is way, way too heavy to be hauling around, especially if fishing for long hours. So, can you guys give me some suggestions for an angler on the budget? What if money wasn't an issue? I'm doing freshwater striper fishing and using spinning gear. If you have a reel suggestion as well, I'd be happy to hear it. Thanks.

I'm The Biggest Loser In The Entire World
Women are strange like that. Maybe if you go through this "getting to know you better" process, she might see that as you being persistant and interested and she might open-up to you. Unless, she was trying to break it to you softly. If that's the case, then OK, be a friend but don't go out of your way for her. If she is really, honestly trying to get to know you better and eventually wants to have something, do it. While she's getting to know you another year, you're getting the same benefit. Not to get off topic or anything, but I just got out of a long-term relationship and if I could do it over, I would have spent a year or so just getting to know her and building that foundation. You really do need that strong base to build a good relationship on. I once read somewhere at quote by either John Lennon or McCarthy: Love is like a flower. Take care of it and watch it grow. You're taking care of it buddy. Cheers!

Matzuo hooks
I have 10 of them in 4 EWG and 5 EWG. I would rate them just a tad bit below Gamakatsu hooks. I think they are good quality for an angler on the budget.

palomar knot wasting too much line for me
I was fishing with braid about two weeks ago and lost two very expensive lures due to tying a clinch knot. I ignored all the advice on here to avoid the clinch knot with braid. So, guys still tying clinch, that cherished lure will fly off sooner or later. I then started using the palomer knot but it waste way to much line. I only have one rod spolled with braid and everytime I change lures, I lose a lot of line. Suffix braid is pretty expensive stuff for me and I hate seeing all the line wasted as tag ends. Do you find this true too or am I just tying the palomar knot wrong? Thanks.

Yozuri Hybrid line
For 4.99, it is a good buy. I would definately buy a few spools in 6 lb. test for spinning gear. I use it for soft plastics, which for me are mainly senkos and senko knock-offs. The line is very strong and handles pretty good. I can get decent distance on my casts as well. I think you'll like it, if you haven't tried it.

Crankbaits..ask away!
If you had a choice of maybe 1 or two cranks in each range (shallow, mid, deep), which brands and models would you use. Thanks.

Leader larger than main line or vice versa?
Just wondering about this and I can't remember why but this issue hit me in class yesterday. I had a long complex question too but can't remember it know. Maybe it'll come as you guys clarify. Thanks guys.
