If your deep summer patterns consist of fish that are munching on bluegills, you should give these a try. Behind a carolina rig they are pretty deadly. Orange head and chartreuse tails courtesy of JJ's Magic.
  3. Somewhere around the beginning of September you should start looking. Heard Shimano won't get their stock until sometime around the end of this month and then they are out to retailers. I can't wait either
  4. Tubes with a piece of an ear plug inserted inside.
  5. Who do you play through matt? I'm pretty interested.
  6. I understand it may not be exciting to see limits of fish weighing just a few pounds compared to limits weighing 20+. But seeing a tournament where you have to capitalize on every bite, be extremely versatile and very efficient is exciting. Seeing weigh-ins where cuts are made and checks are decided by ounces is very exciting. Listening to these same guys who make 20+ bags look easy talk about how hard it is to scrape together a 5 or 6 lb bag and how it took every bit of experience, knowledge, and even luck to do it, pretty cool man.
  7. Three bearings, a six pin brake, and it retails for 120 bucks. I can pick up a new c3 for forty bucks less. ;D Smaller frame, lighter weight, ability to cast lighter baits better, sure the price is a little more but hey-by your earlier standards why would you spend less money for a quality reel when you can spend more for another quality reel :-?

That's good news about the 7' rods. Maybe they'll introduce some for 7+ rods.
  9. bmadd replied to Raul's topic in Fishing Tackle
It says they protect rods up to 78" (6'6"). J Francho, how do they fit on 7' + rods?
  10. Not intended to you at all. I'm sure the Curado is a great real. I'm simply stating that the Citica is a lot more than an entry-level reel.
  11. I think I'll be able to make this one for sure. It won't be in the middle of classes.
  12. x2. If you can afford it, go for the Avid. You won't regret it. And btw, the Citica E is a very fine reel. The citica e is a great entry level reel. Don't see many pro's using it. You don't see very many pros using any shimano reels actually. They don't seem to need the advertisement. The Citica E is a great reel with great features at a great price. What's your logic behind needing a reel that costs the same or more as the rod it's to be mounted on? Hopefully it's something other than just matching price tags :-?
  13. Chigger Craws, Paca Craws, Kalins Double Tail Grubs
  14. I know it's not your Texas sized fish, but pulling up to ledges, humps, and drops in the summer and catching schooling fish off of big texas rigged worms makes me think of you all the time
  15. Catt, I'm interested in your omission of Kentucky Lake. Have you fished it before? If not, the summer time bite here would be right up your ally.
  16. Rumor is Mr. Depp will be the riddler in the sequel to the Dark Knight
  17. I think I would compare it more to the premier than the stx

Most people would recommend a slower action. I think the XF isn't allowing the fish to get all of the bait in its mouth. As far as hooks, I've heard some good things about the triple grips but haven't personally used them. I can highly recommend Owner ST-36 and Diacchi Death Traps though.
  19. hotter than two rats f%*k!n$ in a wool sock
  20. I'll be gone this time too. Hopefully fishing for redfish in the gulf
  21. My point. Thanks Burley.
  22. Word on the street is the next MGS will also be available on 360. Says a lot right there if you ask me :-X
  23. On the difference between the RT and the Paca, no they do not look the same side by side but I think the actions are pretty similar. And as for the Paca's not being durable, I find them to be as durable or more so than the RT while being at a lower price. Again, I'm not trying to bash the product or Big O. Just throwing out the fact that they are not holier than thou. Big O is a stand up guy and I commend him highly for taking a lot of his time to come here and answer questions about his products as well as a lot of other topics.
  24. #2 is exactly the point I was trying to make. And I'm sure Biffle is mad about his penalty and I don't know his character but I hope he realizes what could have happened to that marshal.
  25. I don't really know what to think about this one. After reading about what happened when the marshal Derek Remitiz's boat and then from Marty Stone's boat it seems as if there was a huge difference in opinion on what to do. I don't think they should have been penalized but I can't imagine just passing the scene of an accident where you don't know if someone is alright or not to go on and fish for $100,000. Just mpo. I know they say that it was congested but they could have just as easily moved over to see how he was. They said 50 something boats stopped on day 1 :-/
