  1. I agree Flechero. I'm interested to see what components will be used.
  2. Skeet was coy about what rods he used at the Guntersville tournament. He came out Monday and said that his contract with Lamiglas had ended and that he was working with a new company. Yesterday it was announced that Skeet Reese is working with Wright & McGill on creating a new lineup consisting of 9 technique specific rods. He says they'll will be aggressively designed and be made of the best materials available and expected to retail at around $90. W&M are the owners of Eagle Claw and also are a Fly Rod and Reel manufacture. http://www.another site/docktalk.asp?id=6396#6396
  3. Mike- I was not giving the marshals themselves a failing grade. I think what has been said in the last three or four posts is fairly correct. I in no way meant to bash them. It was more of a bash to BASS. They created this program to help prevent problems like this or to make a decision more efficient and non-biased. I don't think it worked and I think it's on BASS' fault. I agree with 5BL, Duckett has changed his story a little and went out of his way on his blog to further his point after he "allegedly" said he wanted it to all go away. Goldbeck's account is a little more interesting but I would really like to hear all reports from those involved, not what BASS said they saw.
  4. For those who adjust their cranks to suspend, do you use SuspenDots or do you wrap wire or solder around the shank of the belly hook?
  5. ditto 5BL. This was the marshal program's first REAL test and I think it's gotten a pretty low grade so far. An F in my mind. It seems that they have relied more upon the words of the elites than of the marshals.
  6. Why haven't we heard what Duckett's marshals are saying?
  7. My first impressions were that I'd like to hear a lot more from the marshals since that's what they're there for. However, after Langill's day 3 actions, he lost a lot of credibility in my eyes. Those aren't the actions of someone who didn't do anything. Grant Goldbeck has released a statement today. Apparently he was sharing that same spot with Duckett and backed off of it once Duckett started catching fish. He was the closest other competitor and he said that Duckett had every right to be upset and that Langill was in the wrong. He even goes on to say that he would have taken Langill to the bank for a fist fight haha.
  8. Not trying to bash UPS or cause problems. Just whining Mods feel free to delete if need be. Avoiding any problems so I'm done with this.
  9. They only say that because they don't get any of the money themselves. That isn't entirely true. I had a professor who hated the bookstore so much that he wrote his own textbook and published it on his website. He would just pull it up on the projector in class and go from there. Pretty cool.
  10. I think you guys are confused. It takes two days from California to Memphis, the distribution center. Then it takes two days from Memphis to my house. And Memphis is only an hour and a half away from my house. Therefore, it takes my package the same amount of time from California to Tennessee as it does to travel an hour and a half.
  11. Why must it take ALL of my tackle warehouse orders two (2) days to get from Memphis to my hometown. That is only a one and one-half hour drive It makes it from California to Tennessee in the same amount of time as it takes it to travel that hour and a half in state :-/
  12. Easy buddy. What school are you going to be fishing with next year? I fish with UT Martin and would love to meet you one day. The members here, old and young alike, are willing to learn from someone, young or old, as long as that person is respectful and easy to talk to. Lots of people ask questions every hour on here, cruise around and pass the time you're not out there on the water helping these folks with what you know and what you've learned. This is the best place for those who know everything and those who don't.
  13. Glad ya'll caught some fish and had a good time! Sure wish the lake would've cooperated with ya'll a little more though. You can get into some good 14" fish on Ky Lake. Makes you real mad when you can have 5 fish that weigh 12-13 lbs and all five of those fish are under 15" :-/ The weather certainly didn't make anything any easier either! We've been getting pounded with rain.
  14. Jeremiah Johnson Office Space and probably any earl Adam Sandler movie
  15. CJ and Frogtog, I'll have to look for ya'll at that tournament. Our club helps Triton with boat checks, and the weigh-ins. As for the rain, I think we have at least a thirty percent chance everyday leading into next weekend
  16. That's definitely one of the best patterns on a fish I have ever seen Bizz.
  17. How big of a difference in weight and sensitivity between the two blanks? I know everyone always says that the IMX is where G Loomis really starts to shine, but what about the Mossyback series :-/
  18. I appreciate it CJ. Most of my smallmouths have come from the pea gravel banks/flats outside of Byrd and Hughes. I've also had some luck around the 79 bridge and around Standing Rock but that's a little farther south of you. Where do you normally launch from?
  19. I fish Kentucky Lake and primarily have fished for largemouth. There have been a few occasions where I have caught several smallmouth. I have decided I'd like to try and target those a little bit more. I did a general google search but most of the information I'm finding is for river smallies. Anybody that fishes lakes for smallies, in particular in the south, what information helped you most? What's some good reading on seasonal patterns of lake bound smallies? Any help would greatly be appreciated
  20. Woodchuck's been available around here for a while. It's decent. Pretty sweet. It's a draft cider, made from apples not hopps.
  21. My two favorites come from Colorado Rare Occasions: Flying Dog Tire Bite Blue Moon Modello Especial Everyday: Coors heavy Bud Light
  22. We had a club tournament Sunday out of Paris Landing. Paris Landing cove has been giving up some pretty good weights from tournament release fish. However, you'll have a better day finding bushes on flats. Like Bud said, flipping bushes is hot. I've had luck using black neon and watermelon red tubes. I've also had luck swimming jigs in, through, and around buck brush. Better luck with this when there is some grass around. Shamrock/Swan Bay which is just a little farther north of Paris Landing is a good place to start. Also, Standing Rock, Granny's Branch, Lick Creek, and Leatherwood are also good places to check. The topwater bite is also starting to pick up a little bit. Walk the dog baits and poppers worked slow around the same cover. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  23. As I was unloading my Powell 684 CB out of the boat this afternoon, I noticed that the cork handle looked a lot different. This rod is almost two months old and the cork is starting to show some serious signs of pitting. The filler looks to be coming out and is very noticeable as it is now a different shade than the actual cork :-/ I love the rod but this is really bugging me. Any other Powell owners have any problems with their cork like this?

Most of the fish were actually swimming away from the cover with the bait :-/

In our club tournament Sunday, I was pitching 4" Yum tubes to bushes and brush in about 1-4' of water. For the life of me, I don't know what was wrong but I easily missed 10+ fish. It could have been other things but I want to know what size and type of hooks and how you rig them when flipping and pitching 4" tubes. I started with a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG and then moved to a 5/0 Owner EWG (actually hooked some fish with this one, but still missed more).
