  1. Absolutely delicious.
  2. Back when I fished lead weights on my texas rigs, I always used part of a toothpick to peg my weights. Since I've been using tungsten for a while, I've noticed that the toothpicks don't work as well with it. Anybody have any other cheap, ingenious methods of pegging tungsten weights?
  3. I don't have any actual fishing experience with either rod but I have handled both at stores. The E21 is very light. Something that is very nice for a cranking rod since you will be making lots of casts throughout the day. However, a very balanced rod is just as nice and that would depend on the reel you wanted to place on it. When I first handled the KVD rods, my first impressions were that it had a large blank. Albeit, most glass blanks are. A little heavier than the E21 but still a light blank. I have yet to really find a stick that I really love so I won't recommend a certain brand but I will give you my thoughts on size, etc. For an all around cranking stick, I would go with: -7' in length. This will give you added distance in casting while not being so long to really cause problems in close range. Also, the extra length will help with leading fish away from cover. -I would go with a Medium power in a moderate or parabolic action. This will give you the widest range in lure weight abilities however, it will feel a little strained when retrieving the deeper baits. Those would be pretty much the basics for a general, all-purpose cranking stick.

  5. What's the difference in these two series of baits other than than the endorsement of the "G Man?" Anything significant?

6'6 and 7' ML Fast action spinning rod 1500 sized spinning reel and 10 lb braid or 8 lb fluoro. 3/32 and 1/8 oz Picasso Shakedown jig heads. Roboworms or Zoom finesse/ trick worms.
  8. I hope ya'll managed through the weather this morning. Got pretty rough for a while here.
  9. I like Zoom Ultra Vibe craws for the 5/16 oz. versions. It's a finesse jig so I like to tip it with a compact trailer but one that still has some movement. Another trailer that works amazingly on these jigs is the Yamamoto Fat Baby craw. The only downside with those trailers is that the claws are VERY delicate >

  11. Saw it in the Jackson Sun this past weekend buddy. Congrats and keep up the attitude and confidence and you'll do great at FL! And keep representing West TN 8-)
  12. Those are pretty common up ther Burley. Normally see at least 2-3 on any given day on KY lake. Real fun with a jetski
  13. the way you have that written, your bass weighs 35.42 pounds. you must have meant [(169+81)/10]/5 which would come out to a solid 5 pounds. three cheers for order of operations Nope. That's the new world record. Burley is actually BigFoot and that is why the fish only looks like a 5.
  14. Can't even give me a call... PS...Nice fish!

The SEC isn't really known for College Mens Basketball. Now on the Women's side it's a little different.
  16. For the past 2-3 years, I've just hooked them right under the dorsal fin. Here lately, after fishing with Paul, I've tried inserting the hook just in front of the tail. My thoughts on the two methods are that hooking them under the dorsal allows the gill to swim more naturally and stay alive a lot longer. I also think it's best to fish this method with a slip bobber. When you hook them right above the tail, it complicates their natural swimming ability. This causes the gill to swim more frantically and struggle more. My experience is that your gill tends to expire more quickly if you're waiting for a bite. I've fished these without weight and without a bobber and just keep a finger on the line, you'll fill the movement of the gill's tail kicking and you can often times tell when a predator is following it. It becomes more frantic. Either way you decide to rig them, I recommend using a circle hook. If you plan to hook them under the dorsal fin I suggest you use a 5/0 circle hook. If you are going to use the area in front of the tail then you can downsize and use something between a 1/0-3/0. Once you feel the strike, simply start reeling. DON'T set the hook, you'll pull the bait from the fish's mouth. Takes a little getting used to but the hook sets perfectly in the bass' mouth every time. Maybe Paul will post his incite. He's a lot better at fishing gills then I am.

  20. What are user's opinions on these rods? I've held some of the Crucial rods but never one of the crankbait models. How are they?
  21. I've easily swam that for before while pulling my jackass buddy's boat back after a day of crappie fishing in the wind and only one battery in the boat. 53* water. REALLY sucked

Nice baits as always Marty. Really liking that bone with orange back all of them look great though!
  23. Because that's all they can afford to have one for. They're almost out of all the money they got from crying about Napster and it's absolutely ridiculous to think they make anything off of record sales anymore. Only two people would listen to it anyway, Dave and Lars :

This is our 4th or 5th trip, I'm still waiting patiently for my big girl. He's promising me a big one, and I believe him, but like anybody else would say it's just not soon enough! Great guy to fish with though and great to be on the water just talking to.
  25. Man we got some of your luck on Sun. Backed the boat in the water and started it up and it was running fine and everything. Tried to crank it to leave for blast off and we had nothing. Starting battery was down. Not sure if it's just the battery or the alternator :-/ Glad ya'll got on um though bud. Congrats
