I am having a heck of a time catching a single fish on a jig. I force myself to fish one for at least 1 hour every time I go out. However, it is always an effort in futility. I am fishing usually very clear water, and putting the jigs in and around brush, stumps, downed trees etc.... I either am fishing it completely wrong, or I can not detect the strike. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ I am using 1/4 - 3/16 oz. jigs, with colored skirts to match the conditions, and usually a trailer. I am using braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Tried feeling the bite, watching the line, and still not a single fish on a jig...... I feel like I am worse off than the proverbial blind squirrel!!!! HELP!!!!!!! :-[ :-[ :-[

Goodyear Wranglers! Hands down one of the best tires I have ever put on a SUV or truck! I put 75,000 on the last set, and the only reason I replaced them is I put a hole in the sidewall of one,, decided to get 4 new ones all matched in tread.

Creeks usually have crawfish in them,,,,maybe a jig with a craw type trailer, fished in and around any and all rocks.

So if you wanted an all purpose spinning rod, for light jigs, shakey heads, split shots, and weightless, would a 703 MEF work out? New to looking at Powell rods, so would like to know.

I am just wondering if there was really much difference in similar priced rods. For example, there is a slew of rods in the 130-150.00 range. Everything from Allstar to St. Croix, etc..... Is there that much difference in them really? OTHER Than personal preference???? Is one more sensitive? Stronger? More brittle?

For me, it has to be the Ragetail lures from Strike King.

Of course it does, 6 inches in rod length is the difference between me being able to swing the rod to cast comfortably or snagging my lure on a friggin huizache brush > when I 'm on foot patrol or hooking my compadre with the lure when we are on the boat. ;D ;D wont be a compadre to long if you put a set of trebles in his ear!!!!

I simply like spinning gear for lighter stuff. I can use bc reels and do for spinnerbaits, cranks, topwaters, and even Trigs and Crigs. I just dont like spending my time picking professional type backlashes : out of them when I try to cast weightless or very light weight stuff.

Does 6 in. make that big of a difference in a rod? Why 6'6" or 7'???? I understand tight cover requires a shorter rod, but for just general fishing, why do you choose one length over the other. Or does it not matter???
