As I become better at my fishing, and look to upgrade my equipment, I think from now on, I will do my best to buy American Made First. I may not be able to do that will all my gear, but I can start with my fishing poles. I have heard nothing but good things about B&R Outlaw rods. I have spoken to the owner on several occasions. He is always available to answer questions. From everyone I have talked to that own these rods, they are equivalent to the loomis rods, at a better price. Plus, they have a great lifetime warranty.

I do not watch the news on TV. There is only bad news on there, nothing ever is good news. I get my news from the internet. That way I can pick and choose my news, not necessarily what a hotshot in an office wants me to see/read/hear.

Palomar or Improved Clinch are the ones that work best... Do a search for "knots" on the forum, and you will find a wealth of knowledge.

For Bass 3 baitcasters 1 spinning Was 5 & 5 until recently. For Trout, Panfish 2 spinning. For Salmon & Steelhead 1 baitcasting 1 Spinning

The first one, he set the hook on a big fish, Fish came straight up and jumped with a tight line. Top 4 in. of the rod snapped. Second one, had some defect in it. Second cast with a 3/8 oz. jig w/trailer. The rod snapped at the 3rd eye down from the tip. 3rd. one he was fishing a shakey head. Got a hit, set the hook, missed the fish, and I heard it crack, and the rod was in two pieces. This guy takes excellent care of his equipment, and I am not sure what was going on with the last one, but he is thru with All Star spinning rods.

I have no personal experience with these, but my buddy has broke 3 of the new All Star Pro Spinning rods. One right after the other. He quit getting em replaced and bought a B&R Outlaw rod for 129.00 on my recommendation. He loves that rod. Will not even let me try it!!!1 :'(

After that posting, thank my lucky stars I am broke, or the bait gorilla would be jumping up and down on my shoulders..

Heck, lets really make the ape happy. go for a Kistler Helium LTX or an Orvis rod.... : :-?

Check out that gas motor, and lower unit. Even with service records, you need to check it out or have it done. Maybe get the guy to take it out with you for a test run...... you may find it is exactly what you want, or maybe not.

I normally use a 4/0 EWG. However, I will also go bigger to a 5/0. I also will employ a trick showed to me by a buddy. I was getting short strikes, could not hook up one day. He showed me how to rig a trailer hook so you had two hooks rigged weedless on a 10 in. worm. No more short strikes!

There are clamps for rod holders specially made for rails. Check BPS or Cabelas.
