Good idea on the bump Matt, thanks. Great info in that article. I know of at least one lake in PA that has an exploding gizzard shad population and others that have reproducing populations of gizzards. Not sure of the difference, but I know these shad dont die off each year.

Nice video, LBH. This is one time when a mistake doesnt apply to me, Yeah!!!! I have never been accused of not setting the hook. Trust me, the boat is making waves...however, definitely a good point to remember to always drive that hook home!

HAHA, things I learned this year.... 1. You can win a tournament throwing only topwaters!!! 2. Jigs really do catch fish. 3. A carolina rig and open water structure are really not as intimidating as originally thought. 4. The DCNR guys at Shawnee state park think their lake stinks, and they aren't afraid to tell you about it. 5. Fishing tournies w/ someone who has the same sense of humor you do is a pretty darn good time. 6. BassResource.com is a cool place to fill up time during my work day!!! I am sure there are other things I have learned, and even more I have already forgotten. Wayne

I would say it is the same general motion with a jerkbait, but you are going to want to keep a tighter line than if you were using a spook-type bait. There is really no magical motion recipe for working either of the baits. Jerks, pauses, twitches and the like can all be mixed in....the key thing to remember is to make the bait look ERRATIC, since you are imitating a wounded baitfish with these presentations.
