How do you fish live craws?
I have only fished live crayfish in a river for smallmouth and BIG trout. We simply fish them like any other live bait. Usually put a splitshot or two ahead of them about 18 inches, tie on a snap or barrel swivel and a size 4 snelled hook. Typically, we only fish with the live bait after a decent rain storm when the water is somewhat off color. By the way, MAKE SURE YOU HOLD ON TO THE ROD!!!!!!!

It's official
Very impressive. You will be rewarded in life for giving so much of yourself. I know muddy man has inquired about an event in PA and once again, if you need any assistance I would be more than happy to help out any way I can.

Do bass eat this?? Carassius cuvieri
You would be surprised at the size of baitfish a bass can eat. Maybe that is why you have only seen a few adult sized bluegills in your lake.

Major Stumpage
You may also want to experiment with a drift sock or using your anchor(s) to keep you in place while you work an area over. I know they are a pain in the butt, but they will cause you less headaches than attempting to control your boat, fight a fish and land it all while being blown into the trees on the bank.

Major Stumpage
Ok, a couple observations... First, could the fish be swimming toward you when you are setting the hook? This could cause you to not be getting as much pull as you think you are. Second, take a look at your trolling motor, under the head unit. There should be a machine screw and nut holding the top portion onto the shaft of the motor. You can unscrew that, turn the hand control around and then mount the motor to the front of the boat. This will give you the ability to control the boat a little more effectively.

Question-Bank Fishing
You really gotta figure...everyone else who doesnt have access to a boat is also fishing there. There are likely many more people with this same problem that continue to fish the same area of water. If your only real option is that stretch of bank, I would suggest getting there very early in the day, when you know no one else has fished the area and take your shots wherever you can. Otherwise, I agree with raul. Put a small pontoon or belly boat in the water and explore other areas. Wayne

LH or RH?
It was difficult at first, but this year I taught myself to reel with a right handed baitcaster. I use this for baits that dont require me to begin reeling as soon as the bait hits the water, i.e. jerks, cranks, soft plastics. My spinnerbaits and buzzers get thrown on the lefties.

How Much Farther?
Copy that ghostrider.... Yeah, I misunderstood. For the cost of Trilene, you could probably take an extra spool of each and try them out side by side. I honestly did not realize the line diameters were that close, yet the poundage was so far apart...good eye.

Bye bait monkey,hello boat monkey
The only problem is, that darn bait monkey is awfully competitive. He will pop his ugly little head up just when you least expect it. He will see you spending your money on the boat and next thing you know.....BAM!!!! (SING ALONG WITH ME!!!!!!!) You just bought 12 bags of senkos, 11 brass weights, 10 lb test line, 9 watermelon zoom lizards, 8 chatterbaits, 7 Terminators, 6 bags of gulp worms, 5 rapala dt's, 4 new sammies, 3 new bags, 2 Hudd swimbaits.....and a brand new shimano combo!!!!!!!!!!! You may applaud now....

Raising a Bass
Nittany, from one PSU fan to another...WELCOME ABOARD!!!!! I had this same exact question not too long ago. I decided for the time being that I could not afford a tank large enough to accomodate a bass. If you can get a big enough tank, I say go for it. If you caught the fish in PA, be aware that Johnny Law can site you for having an under sized fish in your possession (under 12"). Where are you fishing at?

A Basses memory
Go figure.... I go fishing in the same spots, throw the same lures the same way and those fish never come to the shallow spots to feed. I am jealous.

KANSAS BUCK- BMOC and my buddies recent harvest
If it is in his genes, he will likely grow a similar rack. Barring any complications with his anatomy, disruption in nutrition, etc. the rack will likely be bigger next year. Since the deer has a name, I would assume he has looked this way for a while. So, yes, he will.

Are Bass Characteristics Consistent?
Thanks for the info, sounds like it is worth looking into.
-
Do the fish know?
Haha, trust me. The bass know you are there. They spend the majority of their lives doing two things... 1. Eating things in the lake. 2. Trying to not let other things eat them. Put yourself in this situation and I guarantee you become very aware of your surroundings.

Tiny Bluegill and Bass
What you dont see is how many of those little bluegills he ate before you got there. Just like the fat kid (myself included) likes to sit next to the buffet, a bass will swim right along with the food so they dont have to use as much energy to get it. Ok, now I'm hungry....
