I firmly believe that the deer do hear the whistles but I dont feel that is a positive outcome. Here's the problem: If that whistle spooks the deer, IMO you now have an animal that is MORE likely to run into the roadway and cause an accident.

It's a good cranking rat. Brock is painting them. He got me in contact with the bait maker last year. I agree, $135 is a lot to spend on a lure but if it lasts and catches you bigger fish then I feel it's worth it. And yes, that is a mid-tier price on a rat.

I find it entertaining when guys ask for opinions on how big a fish is and then get defensive because it doesn't align with what they think it should weigh. Since you asked at the end of your question, save up and spend the money on the best glasses you can possibly afford and then....hold your breath.....TAKE CARE OF THEM. A great pair of glasses will last you a long time with the proper care. Your eyes will thank you over the long haul.

Fished a lake down south for 4 days and came away with this little pig. I have never had so many big fish follow my baits. I had one hit a Deps 250 that would have likely been in the 9-10lb class. Unfortunately, never got any hooks in her. I thought it was a pretty cool pic

Wrapping up spawning at 58-59 degrees? I'll have to disagree with you there. I do agree with the locations you mentioned. I'd be fishing the first drop off around any known spawning areas.
