  1. ^ Or pronounced like a mobster's last name
  2. Save up and buy a Deps. There is a reason for the hype.
  3. I can't believe I'm saying this... ^ I agree with the Idiot.
  4. I wish it had some awesome secretive meaning Brian. It's simply an old iteration of the Terminator spinnerbait. It's the bait I caught my first REAL largemouth on and I've been using it so long, it's just kinda stuck.
  5. I still think the Terminator Oklahoma blade is the best thumping blade I've ever thrown. I do like the innovation of the Strikeback, even if the guy who owns the company is somewhat goofy.
  6. It's the next add coming up. I believe it starts on the 23rd. That's when the current gun ad ends.
  7. If she's really that bad, she's always been that bad. No offense, but HE married her.
  8. I've determined them to be a gilled chupacabra. Win.
  9. I've got the TCP (Taurus' LCP clone) and have had no issues with it. It stays in the truck just in case.
  10. That was my point Brian. I was typing as a response to the fella above you and you must have hit "send" before me.
  11. I don't think anyone here is referring to what amounts to a "stop and frisk" situation. What situations have you guys ever been in where you "weren't doing anything" but yet got asked for ID from a LEO? I've had to give ID to law enforcement on a couple occasions, limited to traffic stops (yeah, I speed LOL) and the one car accident I've been involved in. I just don't involve myself in stuff where this is an issue. Maybe I don't understand what you're saying. Both entirely possible.
  12. I have the unique perspective of working in the gun department of a large retailer, so I encounter more "gun guys" than most people. A couple things I have problems with: 1. OC your pistol and the person feeling the need to direct my attention towards it while we are talking. 2. Even worse, CC your pistol and feeling the need to let me know you are carrying it while we are talking. The point is having it for protection in the unfortunate event you need it. It's not a dickwagging contest where you win by letting me know you have a gun. My state allows OC by any person legally able to possess a handgun and CC by "shall issue" permit from the Sheriff's office in your county of residence. Personally, I feel that if you have a CC permit you should CC. Why go through the expense and paperwork just so you can do what comes as a naturally granted right in the state? I don't get it. "Because I can" is not a sufficient answer in this case, IMO. Funny story. A few of us from our store went on a fishing trip. My manager invited a couple of his buddies from his hometown. My friend and I (he is LEO) were fishing in my boat when my manager and his buddy came pulling up to say "hi." The first words out of this guy's mouth were, "I dont want either of you to be alarmed, but I have a gun on the boat," and he proceeds to point to his passenger compartment on the console. Without hesitation, my friend and I both raised our shirts slightly and proclaimed, "It's ok, we have them too." He didnt say a word....
  13. I'd say even "splashing" on a human will incapacitate them for, at a minimum, a follow up shot. Especially if you are talking rib/sternum shot. I'm pretty big but I have no delusions of grandeur that a coyote is MUCH tougher than I am.
  14. I got ya. Just relaying what I knew. No worries.
  15. FBI uses a bonded JHP. It was the Winchester PDX1 but I believe they recently switched to Federal, still in a bonded JHP. I'd guess the USCG carries FMJ as they are military. BOP - not sure.
  16. My head hurts. Fish are never as big as they appear without a scale. Except maybe when they never make it to the boat. Nice fish, bring a scale. Have fun.
  17. It looks cool. That's about it. I'll go in with 19 other guys to buy a box just to have one in the collection but I wouldn't chamber it. I'll take my PDX1's all day, every day.
  18. In that price range and for your equipment I'll suggest a 68 hudd and a 9" MS Slammer. I always throw this out there, I'm not a hudd guy. I fish them but I dont like them. They work for a TON of guys and because I'm pretty sure you like to drag a jig this bait would suit your style. An even lower priced option for dragging (depending on how snaggy your bottom comp is) would be the River2Sea Bottom Walker.
  19. What can your gear handle?
  20. I agree....and I'm crazy.
  21. It's not going to draw the strikes from the fish I KNOW you are targeting.
  22. Costas. You're not going wrong with taking your fishing glasses seriously.
  23. I think that might be the concrete ramp. Not sure though.
  24. I'm not rich. LOL My family is warm, happy and well fed. If I have a few bucks left over to buy something of value, so be it. As long as I'm not throwing the price in your face or saying you are less of a person because you choose not to purchase those things, then what does it really matter? I appreciate the time and effort that swimbait makers put into their product. In my eyes, they are dedicating their effort to help me catch bigger fish. Are they making a buck? Sure, you would want to make some money in that situation too. Don't get it twisted though. Break it down into hourly rate, taking into consideration all the R&D, carving, pouring, fine tuning and you'll see that it's probably comparable to what you make hourly or more likely less. The guys who REALLY know what they are doing (perfect example is the guy a couple posts above me) can honestly command a higher price than they are currently charging. Have you ever seen the second-hand swimbait market, affectionately known to most of us as the Black Market? I'll agree that it's ridiculous what some people will pay for a hard to get bait. If manufacturers based their pricing on what people would really pay for a bait, THEN you'd see some craziness. Fish what you want and what makes you happy.
