Watched a bass eat a newborn turtle right at the boat before. That was pretty cool to see. Bet that turtle was only about the size of a half dollar or so. Gone in one gulp. Never seen a snake get eaten but I'm sure it happens frequently.

To the OP, I'm fishing PA and MD with these things. I've got three of them. The only limit to the size of bait you can catch a fish on is your willingness to throw them.

LOL, plenty of guys in Arizona throwing them right now. I'm not a fish so I can't really speak for what is so appealing. Bottom line is they work.

401 Cardiff throws 5-10oz baits just fine for me. I've owned C3s and they are a bulletproof reel. Between the two, I like the overall performance of the Cardiff.

Can someone draw a map? I'm a visual guy. I don't have any real "points" on the lakes I fish but I think it can be applied to other things in my water.

Totally up to you man. I've got a little bit of seat time throwing swimbaits. Just putting my 2c in. Honestly, 20lb is even a little overkill if that is the only bait you are going to throw. Save yourself some cash, throw some 15lb Big Game or CXX with those and be done with it. You'll notice a marked difference in action going with the lightest line you can comfortably get away with. Take it for what it's worth.

If you are going to throw 1-5, get the 7'6" H. The MH ratings (and okuma ratings in general) are over estimated.

Between those two, the Curado. It's probably the tops as far as low pro SB reels are concerned. The Lexa is also a quality reel in the 300 size.
