  1. We call them plop-plop baits, because of the sound they make when retrieved. Yes, we catch bass while muskie fishing, especially late evening. Chris, I would think your big Cali bass would crush these things. Let us know how they work for you. Falcon
  2. Here is another vote for bluegill. It happens to me all the time, and like has been mentioned, hooksets are free. Falcon
  3. Welcome to the best bass fishing site on the net. Falcon
  4. Boondocks hit the nail on the head. Anything flashy, be it spoons, spinnerbaits, or crankbaits. Firetiger or clown work well for me. Falcon

Avid, you have a beautiful family. You have every reason to be proud. Falcon
  6. That's hilarious!!! Falcon
  7. I think the fish are used to the noise. I live less than one mile from an Air Force base, with F-16's, A-10's, and KC-135's flying around all day. It hasn't bothered the fish so far. Falcon
  8. Happy Birthday Deb. The best years are still ahead, you are going to be a Grandma. Congrats, Falcon
  9. I'm still getting out 4-5 times per week. My 250 Merc. isn't too bad on gas, but it wouldn't matter because my season is too short. As long as my spine will allow, I'm going fishing. Falcon
  10. Thanks for the heads-up. I was going to get another SX in the Spring, but at that price I couldn't wait. What a deal!!! Hopefully I'll have it for the weekend. Falcon
  11. Not at all. Just look at the size their mouth. Falcon
  12. For the last four weeks I've been loading-up on largemouth in four to six feet of water. It's been a blast!! Normally I travel further in the lake for smallmouth, but I've been going through sooo much fuel that I decided to try a spot about 100 yards away from the mouth of my canal. What a good decision. I've been getting them on Senkos, shallow crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Water temp is 81 degrees. By all means, fish the shallow water. Falcon
  13. My biggest freshwater fish is a 49.75" Lake St. Clair Muskie (didn't have a scale). The fish I'm most proud of is my P.B. 6lb. 15oz Lake St. Clair Smallie. Falcon
  14. I wish you lots of luck. I lost both my parents to lung disease due to smoking. Do all you can to kick the habit. I'm in your corner. Good luck Falcon
  15. I have that same chart roadwarrior. The weights on that chart are pretty darn close for the bass around here. Falcon
  16. I never met a crankbait I didn't like. But like roadwarrior said, I don't hesitate to use live bait. A large shiner on a splitshot rig has been a skunk-buster many times. Falcon
  17. I agree with replacing the hooks. Once they have started to rust it will continue no matter what you do. Falcon
  18. I'm very fortunate to have a son-in-law that builds and maintains my computers. He knows my needs and builds accordingly. Falcon
  19. I remember about ten years ago, alot of the universities had to change their mascots. What I don't understand is, in our nations capital, where all this legislation is passed. What is the name of their professional football team????????????????????????? Falcon
  20. Way to go Muddy, what a great story. Falcon
  21. I've never fished Portage Lake, but here on Lake St. Clair we use crawler harnesses and crankbaits for walleye. Yesterday, while I was out fishing for bass I caught some walleye on a Norman "Mad N" In lavender shad. Very often you will catch walleye on most bass tackle. Hope this helps, Falcon P.S. Bomber Long A's have produced big-time for me for walleye.
  22. Another vote for shaky head. Falcon
  23. I've had one for two seasons and haven't caught one fish with it. I've tried all the presentations they advertise and nothing. Falcon
  24. I've had very good success with the Frenzy divers. As jdw 174 stated, they're a bargain at retail, and a steal at $1.00. Falcon
