  1. Welcome, If you love bass fishing as much as the rest of us you will fit right in. This is the best bass fishing site on the net. Falcon
  2. Congratulations, This is a very special day. If you are anything like me, you'll walk around with a smile on your face for a week. Good luck, Falcon
  3. I'd go with the front drag, they are much smoother. Falcon
  4. When I use live bait, I also use the split shot rig. I hook the shiner through the lips (bottom lip first) so it swims natural. Falcon
  5. I use Rapala Rattlin Raps the most. I have some Rat-L-Traps, but I have far more success with Rapala. Falcon
  6. My favorite tackle shop is BPS. They always have what I want/need. Gander Mountain is #2, because they don't have the selection that BPS has. I like Cabelas, but they are too far away. I'd like to buy more tackle from the local bait shop but they only sell very basic tackle (hooks, sinkers, crawler harnesses). Falcon
  7. Welcome, you've landed in the right place to learn how to catch bass. Falcon
  8. Hi!

Welcome Solo, If you love bass fishing like the rest of us, you've found a home. Falcon
  9. I haven't tried their baitcasters, but I have two of their Deadbolt spinning reels that I'm very pleased with. Falcon
  10. For me it's the Pointer 100SP in American Shad. Falcon
  11. Usually I catch mine on a Husky Jerk or X-Rap, but this spring I'm getting them on a Rattlin Rap. It's the first time I've had luck this early on a lipless crankbait. Falcon
  12. Robert, I'm sorry to hear you lost your friend. I feel your pain, three weeks ago I lost a friend I've known since high school. It's never easy to lose a friend, but when they are so young it's that much more difficult. Remember all the good times you had. God Bless, Falcon
  13. So sorry to hear of your loss. You and your wife are in my prayers. Have a safe trip. God bless, Falcon
  14. My canal has a mucky bottom also, the baits I normally have success with are t-rigged worms, senkos, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits. This spring all my bass have come on Rattlin Raps, Husky Jerks, and Shallow Shad Raps. The water was very clear until two days ago when we had four inches of rain. Now I'm trying to find something that works. We've also had a thirty degree drop in our temps. Falcon
  15. I would say a Zoom Trick Worm t-rigged in watermelon green. I might have to sneak an X-Rap or a Shad Rap in my pocket. It would be difficult to go without them. Falcon
  16. I got two of them this winter, one Bleeding Olive Flash, and one Perch. They are supposed to be a cross between the original floater and the Shad Rap. Since they are two of the most productive lures I've ever owned, I figured a hybrid should be pretty good. I'll keep you posted once my season starts. Falcon
  17. Hey Muddy, you won't be disappointed in the Abu. They make great reels. You couldn't beat the price either. Falcon
  18. I wasn't a believer until last year. I finally tried them, and on one trip every fish I caught was on the trailer. I'm now a believer. Falcon
  19. Most of my lipless crankbaits are Rapala Rattlin Raps, and they use the same size hooks, front & back. The Rat-L-Traps that I have, the front hook is bigger than the rear. Falcon
  20. I'm not familiar with Glamour Shad, but I have had good success with Terminator, Strike King, and Leverage. Falcon
  21. I just saw the Rat-L-Trap ad in the April/May In-Fisherman magazine, and it shows a Tail Chaser trap that has a dressed hook on the back and triple-grip hook on the front. Falcon
  22. When my buddies and I use the term "long lining"we mean trolling. I would think that's what he meant also. Falcon
  23. I marked boat, but this time of year before I get my boat in the water, I fish from my seawall. Falcon
  24. Welcome, you have found a home. We're glad to have you. How far are you from Trabuco Canyon? Falcon
  25. 6lb-15oz smallmouth on a Tennessee Shad Rapala Husky Jerk. Falcon
