  1. Very interesting Catt. Thanks for posting. Falcon
  2. What terrible news. He and his family will be in my prayers. Falcon
  3. The first baits I throw after ice-out are: 1-Jerkbaits 2-Lipless Crankbaits 3-Spinnerbaits. Falcon
  4. If you want a good floating jerkbait, get some Bomber Long A's. 4 1/2" long, 1/2 oz. casts like a rocket. Dives 2'-3'. Falcon
  5. By all means, practicing now is time well spent. You'll become more proficient, and it will help with the cabin fever. Falcon
  6. Deep cranking for me is 12'-16' deep. When I'm using my DD-14's and similar diving crankbaits I use my Revo SX 6.4:1 with no problems. Falcon
  7. All my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are in a binder. They have never been so organized. Falcon
  8. I use Duo-Lock snaps, and I've never noticed any problems with lure action. Falcon
  9. Sometimes it's just easier to replace the blades. Falcon
  10. My buddies and I always laugh about the swimbait craze...........for years we just called them muskie baits. Falcon
  11. I have the Fast Sink version. With both balls in it, it weighs 1/2 oz. Hope this helps. Falcon
  12. Very good game. I thought it was much better than last years game. My grandkids and I watched the halftime commercials with our 3-D glasses. Very cool!! Falcon
  13. One of my neighbors, (a very cranky old lady) always acuses me of tying-up to her seawall. I've never been closer than casting distance from her property, but every time I'm out there fishing, she comes out screaming at me that I'm "disturbing her fish", or trespassing. I just smile at her and keep fishing. Falcon
  14. I use the Yum CrawBug. Falcon
  15. Leatherman Multi-Tool. I always have it on my belt. That way you have pliers and a multitude of other useful tools at your disposal. Falcon
  16. Chalk-up another one for the Storm soft swimbaits. I can't catch a cold with those things. Falcon
  17. In my opinion, if you are using War Eagle, Terminator, and Booya spinnerbaits, you're using three pretty good brands. There is one brand that is worth trying. Rattle Head Baits makes a spinnerbait that rattles. I used them last season, and had good results. They used to be sponsors here, but I don't see their name in the sponsor section any more. Falcon
  18. I agree with Jimzee. The lights with motion detectors work great. Falcon
  19. Last weekend I was talking to one of the sales associates at the Detroit BPS, and he told me that KVD was going to be at that store FINALLY. It never made any sense to me. He is a local hero, and they always have him at some store down south or out west. Falcon
  20. What horrible news. You, and his family will be in my prayers. Falcon
  21. I've had some success with a Fat Free Fry in Citrus Shad. I picked up some Fat Free Guppys, and Fat Free Fingerlings late in the season, so I didn't get a chance to really fish them. What gets me excited is, watching Timmy Horton fish the Fat Free Shads, and catching two bass at once. Falcon
  22. Here is a list of a few jerkbaits that work for me: 1- X-Rap size 08 or 10 in Glass Ghost, Clown, Hot Head, or Hot Pink. 2- Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow in Clown. Like the Daiwa DB Minnow, it swims widely. I killed the LMB in my canal last Spring with this bait. 3- Bomber Long A in Firetiger. Falcon
  23. I fish crankbaits the majority of the time. I fish ALOT of Rapala DT series baits and have NEVER had one break. In fact I've never had a Rapala lure of any kind break. Falcon
  24. We got 1" last night, and we're supposed to get 3"-5" tonight. That, on top of the 44" we already have. I don't have any place to put any more snow. My little tractor has gotten a real work-out this winter. Falcon
