Yes, they work good for chatters and spinnerbaits. That's what I use mine for.

The only spool i think better than the original is a ZPI NRC001.

I have 15lb Seaguar Smackdown braid on it. It has .006 diameter. I just use 6lb flouro leader on it.

Like everyone else said, circle hooks. I just use a 2' leader with a 1/2 or 3/4oz egg sinker/ slider.

Was you able to take this knob off? I have the same reel and wasn't able to unscrew the orange plate. I ended up cutting it off. I ordered the wooden knob off of the President Limited Edition, it fits perfect.
