  1. Thanks for the chart Russ. It looks like we Oklahomans have little to fear from frost bite. I especially appreciate the mathematical formula. I'll plug it into a spreadsheet, rather than thrying to print out the chart.

I'm crying in my wine. :'(
  3. Muddy, it was great talking with you this evening. Glad to hear that both you and Elaine are doing well.
  4. AND NOW YOU CALL ME SIR????!!!! I AM OUTRAGED, TRULY OUTRAGED!
  5. You just HAD to throw in the word "OLD" didn't you. I would have been very happy with "Wise Mook." BUT NOOOO, I'm the OLD Wise Mook. I'm heart-broken :'( :'( :'( ;D
  6. OK, TX, LA, & AR, plus two OK Municipal Lake permits. The State that really rapes you is Texas. You can buy an out-of-state permit for one day of fishing for about $15. If you plan on fishing for more than one day, then you have to buy a one year license for $55.
  7. Went to the Gunterville State Park website. It really sucks. Their map of the resort really, really sucks. Other than room rates, I learned almost nothing. From what I can tell from the Google Earth images, there are no boat slips available, and it seems as if nothing is convenient to anything else. Could someone please prove me wrong?
  8. Burley, you have my deepest apologies. It never occured to me that you would be spotlighting varmints when you brought up the subject. I grew up in the country, but I guess I've been in the city too long,
  9. OK, Burley, you have confirmed that you are willing to shoot someone if they do not agree with you. I can only assume that in any pre-murder disagreement, you would have no problem with negative innuendo and outright insult.
  10. I would fish the Northwest side of the lake, the side that gets the most sun. Also, I would wear a warm jacket. ;D
  11. So, Burly how, in your opinion, does one "blow off steam?" I'm not talking about this site specifically, but any site where like-minded people tend to congregate and where differences of opinion are bound to happen?
  12. If I wanted to jump up and wave I would be a cheerleader. Besides, at my age, I would probably throw my back out. Here's the best I can do. ;D
  13. Muddy, I bought the pedestal, swivel and seat at Wal-Mart for lest than twenty bucks. Works great on my raft.
  14. : : : NaterD, here's your sign
  15. Frogtog, you've got a deal. If I see one more episode of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" I'm gonna puke.
  16. Ronnie, keep your cap on. With your mug, you'll be able to go around incognito for the rest of your days. ;D ;D ;D
  17. Lucky for me that my cable provider has a Western channel. Unfortunately, the Cable company seems to have a fixation on Clint Eastwood's "spaghetti westerns" and The Magnificent Seven genre. I haven't yet seen a John Wayne flick.

Muddy, what the hell are you talking about? Everybody knows that Columbus was from Ohio and that he led the Lewis and Clark expedition in search for the Fountain of Youth before dieing at the Alamo. Geez, you Italians think you discovered everything.
  19. Mork and Mindy. The funniest I've ever seen. Much funnier than the SNL shows of that genre, and they were a riot.
  20. My prediction is that the fight for the title will be between OU and LSU. I'm an avid fan of both teams.

Gawd, that was a good one.
  22. After hanging around here for the last year or so, I have learned so much from the members and the articles that there is simply no way to thank everyone who has been instrumental in my education process. Many thanks to BR and the gang for providing such a great website.

Catt, my apologies for underestimating the size of the lake. I only missed it by 75,000 acres or so. Regardless, it's a REALLY BIG lake, and it was smooth as a baby's butt. On the plus side, I caught three of my five keepers in areas you recommended. The other two were caught fishing the big grassy flats on Spooks. I didn't want to fish these areas because I don't believe they hold big bass, but the other three guys in my group fish for quantity only, and they wanted to fish the flats. I had only a half a day to fish the areas you recommended, and I caught the two largest bass. As for the guided tour, you name the place and date and I'll be there.
  24. As long as you use two of them, anything five pounds or better will hold you in place. I assume you are fishing small lakes or ponds.

I"M BACK! Got in about 10:00 last night. Counting last Sunday evening when I arrived, until about noon yesterday, I managed to get in four full days of fishing. I was armed with GPS Lake Maps, FHS paper maps and great advice from Catt. Uh, I had a boat and a coupla rods and reels too. Catt, have you ever seen a 110,000 acre lake as smooth as glass? It was a first time for me so I was able to get some great Sunset pics. The fishing was spotty at best. The minimum length for bass on the Bend is 14." The four of us boated fifteen keepers. My partner an I boated eleven of them. ;D Muddy, I received the T-Shirts. They are everything ugly that I hoped they would be. ;D ;D ;D
