  1. Don't you guys know that we Mods get our kicks out of moving things around just for the hell of it? It keeps the members confused and makes Glenn think that we are really on top of things.
  2. After 42 years of marriage, my most feared words are "Cook your own dinner."
  3. Anything that hides that mugg of yours is an improvement.
  4. Slapshot, you and I have a lot in common. Butchering of the English language is one of them. I used to be the resident A-hole around here on that subject, until I was constricted as a Moderator. Now I have to be a nicer guy. Please sir, take up my fallen flag!
  5. This is probably the best critique' of a youngsters resume' I have read on this forum. Be sure to save it to file and then paste it into every response to kids who send in their resumes.'
  6. If this pond is on private property, or abuts to private property you are probably trespassing. As suggested above, it would be well worth your while to check out the local ordinances for that particular pond.
  7. At my age there are way too many songs and way too many memories to name just one. I reached young manhood in the sixties. My fondest memories were when the music of the genre allowed a couple to dance with each other, real close.
  8. The actual weight of the ring means nothing. The ring is a symbol that you have elected to love and provide for your wife and family and to raise your kids in the best manner you know how. It's a heavy burden, which makes it the heaviest ring you will ever wear.
  9. Nuts, bolts, screws, electrical wire. Ya never know when you might need it.
  10. With the exception of my trout rods, and my fishing-in-slop rod, all of my gear, both spinning and baitcasting, is equipped with 30# braid and a flouro leader.
  11. Like many others,I keep my battery charger plugged in to my Dual Pro 24/7/365. My hatches are closed and the boat cover is on. I've been doing this for at least five years and have blown my boat to pieces only five or six times. The battery manufacturers have to cover their butts with the hydrogen precaution, but I would speculate that the amount of hydrogen generated is minuscule. Incidentally, I installed the "Charger Inlet" recommend by stonezp. Works like a charm.
  12. Same as above, except I don't kick the dogs.
  13. I go home, kick the dogs, slap my wife around, and go on a three-day drinking binge. After all, it's their fault, not mine.
  14. Magnifying light. Steady hands.
  15. Vinny, I suggest you PM Ghoti with your question. He just completed an article, yet to be published here, that discusses his experiences with super-tuning, bearings and lubricants.
  16. My boat plug is clipped to the key ring that holds my boat's ignition key. It makes it very difficult to fire up the motor without realizing you forgot to install the plug.
  17. I have a 2004 Tracker TV-18. I have only one compartment that I can count on to stay dry in a heavy rain or high "seas." Trackers of that vintage and earlier do not have drain channels around the hatch covers. So, after a wet day, I open all of the hatches and let them thoroughly dry out before putting the boat cover on.
  18. I fish from a boat, so I generally wear neutral colors, such as beige or light blue to more closely mimic the background sky.. That said, I really don't think it makes much of a difference what you wear. After all, look at the pros. They have garish boats and garish outfits. It doesn't seem to affect their fishing success.
  19. The hole is for the drain plug. The drain plug is inserted from the inside of the boat.
  20. Welcome! There are a lot of nice folks around here.
  21. Welcome aboard! There are a lot of nice people around here who can answer almost any question you have. In addition, be sure to read the articles and view the videos that have been posted on this site. There is an encyclopedia of information to be found there.
  22. Believe it or not, I have several CCR 78 rpm albums in almost mint condition. At one time I was an audiophile, with a kick-ass stereo system, including the baddest turntable I could find. I still own about a hundred albums, none of which has so much as a finger-print on it. Oddly, my daughter was leafing through the albums several days ago and discovered an unopened Michael Jackson "Thriller" album that I didn't know I had. It must have been a gift, because I never would have bought it myself. I had many favorites back then, including CCR, ELO and the Eagles. I still have their albums.
  23. Young man, what you don't yet realize is that by the time your wife reaches the age of her mother, your testosterone will be shot, and you will not (overtly) care what she looks like. Likewise, your wife will overlook your pot-belly and your nasty farts. By that point in life you will have become close friends, instead of lovers. I love my best friend. We've been married for forty-two years,
  24. I suggest trying the Stren knot. It's what I use, exclusively. http://angling-adventures.net/knots/knots.htm
  25. What's your budget? Lots of options available.
