  1. Scrutch, I did get a little action today. I went to the dentist and had a filling and a crown installed. When I got home, I had the opportunity of pouring coffee all over my shirt while trying to drink it with my face completely numb. My wife thought it was hilarious and gave me a kiss. It's been the most exciting day I've had in weeks.
  2. I, Long Mike, being of questionable mind and aging body, do hereby raise my right hand and solemnly declare myself an OLD FART, and am hereby officially permitted to: Scratch my butt in public. Drive forever with my left blinker on. Pass gas in a crowded elevator. Mumble incoherently to myself. Drive forty-five miles an hour in the passing lane. Forget the names of my family and friends. Snore like a chainsaw. Wear goofy hats. Call all teenagers "stupid little punks." Constantly complain about my aching body parts, and Fall asleep with absolutely no warning. Sworn on this 27th day of June, 2012. (Plagiarized from a Birthday Card.)
  3. While the gate is open, tomorrow I will send a post with title "66 today." Then you guys will be right on the money.
  4. Bassn, send me your address, My friend Bruno wants to tap on your knees with a baseball bat.

Geez, I can't believe the heat, and it's forecasted to reach 107 by Wednesday. My air conditioner is internally hemorrhaging. I expect my next electricity bill to approach the National debt. Anyone else feeling the heat?
  6. Impotent. At my age I prefer the Redneck definition.
  7. I had a slab poured alongside my house and have the boat parked there. It won't fit in my garage and it sure beats parking it in the driveway.
  8. Sorry, but to my knowledge, a portable fish finder with side-scan does not exist.
  9. I fish from my boat, so I practice in my back yard while standing on a metal patio end table. They neighbors on either side of me have given up on ribbing me. I would hate to practice while standing on the bank. That must be a real P.I.T.A.
  10. When you compile your spreadsheet, don't forget to include my favorite, a Zebco-38 on a heavy action Ugly Stick.
  11. Broke bass, it is fun! On this last trip, if memory serves, we had six members who had never attended the Road Trip before. I don't think you will hear any complaints from them, and certainty none from our regulars. I attended the Second Annual trip as a newbie to the forums and as a newbie bass fisherman. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and have never missed another one. The ONE great thing about the Road Trip is that it is not a tournament. It's just a bunch of guys and gals who want to go fishing and meet new friends - and maybe drink a few suds and tell a few lies.
  12. Dinky is an asset. That's all he does these days. Asset.
  13. KVD. It's the best stuff since the invention of sliced bread.
  14. Not that I've ever had one, but it also makes it easier to remove backlashes.
  15. Raider hates LSU and the Saints. How many votes do I get for deleting all of his future football threads?
  16. Thanks to the NFL witch hunters, the Saints will be the Aint's this season.
  17. At my ripe old age, Father's Days don't mean much to me, except this day was somehow a little special. I received a well wishing text from a daughter who was flying back from Hawaii, got to visit with another daughter and grand-daughter on Skype, got to visit with my brother and his wife who live in Chile' (again on Skype,) got to have lunch with another daughter and my bride of forty-two years, AND went to Bass Pro and bought a huge new tackle bag. All in all a great day - but the wife doesn't know about the tackle bag - yet.
  18. Screw the extended warranty. If your VW has to go into the shop every six to seven thousand miles, get rid of it. Your vehicle is obviously a lemon. So much for German engineering.
  19. How y'all are? Welcome!
  20. Check to make sure that the throttle cable is still firmly connected to both the Hot Foot and the motor throttle lever.
  21. I would highly recommend that you begin reading the Fishing Articles on this site. There is an enormous amount of information there that will help you. And, welcome to our forums.
  22. Wow! That speech should be required, repetitive viewing for all students who enter high school, until such time as they graduate.
  23. It would help if you would describe your boat, the speeds you will be running, and the location of your battery, i.e. fore or aft.
  24. "Haha that's a lot of people." I hate to be condescending, but it's obvious you don't know squat about how websites work. For example, I am one of the tens of thousands of members of e-bay. Do I visit their site often? No. When I do, do I spend the great majority of my time lurking? Yes. Do I buy something? Rarely. When I do decide to buy something then I become a participating member. Now, plug the same e-bay scenario into this bass fishing web site. At the bottom of the pyramid are the members who just sign in and are never heard from again. Then there are the members who ask one or two questions and are never heard from again. Then we reach the top of the pyramid where there are hundreds of people willing and able to help each other out. To the Staff of Bass Resource, 867 people on line at the same time, viewing this website, is a huge number, and it is very much appreciated.
  25. Them is some nice smallies Dinky.
