RW and I will be hosting a burger cook-out on the huge pit at Moors on Monday night. The cost is five bucks a head. Any profit will be donated to a charity of our choosing, or we may just divide it up and pocket the cash. Is there anyone else out there who would be willing to concoct a meal for this group? Deb is checking on what other cooking/warming facilities are available at Moors.

I read somewhere once upon a time that if you coil your excess transducer cable into a figure 8 and then fold the figure 8 in half to make a 0, it will help to eliminate any noise. I've never had an interference problem, but I've always used the figure 8. It could be just luck on my part.

I had a Tracker about the same vintage as yours. You're right. There is zero room on the console to mount anything. I ended up mounting the head unit on the gunwale with a Ram mount. I installed the antenna on the deck behind the pilot's seat. Everything worked very well.

I have a 24v Terrova with the i-Pilot. As I've said a number of times on this board, it's the wave of the future. Cable-steering is on it's way out, much like the Buggy Whip.

I'm definitely trying to make it happen. KY Lake is full of bass and a great place to tune your skills. No shortage of bites down there. He can't make it there unless I tag along as navigator. I spoke with Jack's wife (I can't bring myself to say "widow") this evening and let her know how well respected he was among the members on this site. She wasn't aware of BassResource, but promised that she would log on to read this thread. I believe that she will be very pleasantly surprised to learn how good a man her husband really was. Oh, how I'm going to miss you, Jack.

I hadn't seen this thread until RW called me this morning and told me of Jack's death. I felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. Jack was a close friend and a mentor and I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace, my friend. :'(

Three very knowledgeable folks regarding KY lake: R520dvx (Greg) Deb CJ Greg and Deb live on the lake. CJ lives close. All three know the lake like the backs of their hands and all three have fished many tournaments there.

MNgeorge, I was responding to your specific question. Your best bet is to buy a KY license because you will be fishing KY water exclusively, unless you get a wild hair up your butt and want to fish fifty miles further south. As for which out of state license is cheaper, I have no idea. You can do the internet search as easily as I can.

MNgeorge, a Kentucky license allows you to fish from the dam on the north, south into Tennessee to the HWY 79 bridge. That's about 45 miles as the crow flies. The same applies for Lake Barkley to the east. I have no idea how many hundreds of miles of coastline are included, but let's just say you will never see it all. ;D

tjmaniac, everything possible will be done to ensure that no one is left to fish from the shore. That's one of the reasons why we ask everyone to submit a Sign-Up Form. It provides me with information on who's bringing a boat and whether there is room in the boat for any non-boaters. At this point it looks as if there is adequate seating for everyone.

Assuming that your motor has a port for water pressure it's a simple matter to hook it in to your HDS using Lowrance's pressure sensor and the NMEA network. Lowrance has all the information you need on their web site. For what it's worth, the "gauges" page on my HDS-8 displays fuel level, voltage, water pressure, fuel consumption in gallons per hour, time, speed, maximum speed per trip and obviously, depth. All it takes is a little time and money.
