  1. Do I sense bias against Mercury products? I have had the same Mercury fuel lines on my boat for sixty-eight years and have never experienced a problem. Would I lie?
  2. I don't care who you are. That thar was funny!
  3. RW and I have our cabin booked. I sure hated to drop over $200 for the non-refundable reservation so far in advance, because the doctors told me I have only three months to live. On the bright side, RW has promised that he will refund my money if I die. Now, that's a stand-up guy! Rhino, have I mentioned that I just installed a Lowrance HDS-8 with sidescan? I doubt that I will ever brag about my alarm system again (although it still works great.) However, be prepared to watch an incessant display of the images captured with the HDS. Uh, if I could catch a few bass. that would be even better.
  4. What Greg (R520dvx) Said! Please join us! I promise that you will not be disappointed!
  5. RW and I have booked a lovely chalet nestled on the waters. We are looking forward to sharing the jacuzzi after a hard day of fishing. Please don't tell our wives. ;D ;D ;D
  6. Well, if Kid Rock has to appear at the CMAs, then Springsteen should be next . Give me a break!
  7. Don't tell my wife, but I've lusted for Reba for years.
  8. I know the song Between Jennings and Jones. Didn't know who recorded it, but liked it. I'll have to go searching.
  9. She's pretty and has a beautiful voice, but why on God's Green Earth is Taylor Swift considered to be a Country singer?
  10. Man, your listening tastes are WAY out there. I've never heard of any of them. The closest I can come is Hank Jr.
  11. I'm watchin. Wouldn't miss it. Miranda Lambert has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. The rest of her ain't so bad either.
  12. The best guess of our scientists is that there are around 1024 stars in our universe. That's a LOT of stars. And a LOT of those stars will have planets. And LOT of those planets will have the conditions to support life. And a LOT of those planets capable of supporting life will develop intelligent life. How many intelligent life forms are out there? No one will ever know until Einstein's famous equation can be dis-proven, whether it be by the human race or other beings who may choose to visit our insignificant little world, nestled among billions and billions of others having a similar life supporting climate.
  13. Thanks for the input Tom. I replaced the complete pump, t-stats and poppet valve about six months ago. After the t-stats open I have a good water stream. You are right about the Owner's Manual not giving any information about what water pressures are to be expected. Neither does the Seloc Maintenance Manual. For some reason I've got it in my head that the water pressure should be around 20psi at WOT, but I could be way off base here.
  14. I have a 2004, 150hp XR6. What range of water pressure should I expect from idle to WOT? Currently, I'm getting around 5 at idle to around 15 at WOT. These pressures seem to be really low to me, so I need some input from you pros.
  15. ROFLMAO!!! I'm sorry for your misfortune but that is the funniest thing I've read on this site in months. When I was a newbie boater, I came very close to doing the same thing myself. I feel your pain.
  16. As has been said many times before, opinions are like buttholes; everyone has one. I have found a reel the really suits me and my style of fishing. I'm not going to mention the name of the reel. There are already enough opinions, and they are all the correct ones for the individual users.
  17. I'll second Rhino's evaluation. STOOPID! Sorry Jack, I couldn't resist the dig. ;D
  18. Tom, those fuses are the ones I use on all my equipment.
  19. The only reason that you've been able to stay married that long is that you go to bed at 8:00 PM and leave the house at 5:00 AM. Your beloved has to spend only about three waking hours a day with you. BS aside, congratulations!!! I'll be celebrating number 41 next month.
  20. The answer is obvious. Either move weight forward or live with what you have. When slowing down from being on plane, gunning the motor a bit, just before the backwash hits the stern, will keep most of the water out.
  21. Adding an additional 3 Amp fuse for the additional head unit is such a simple matter that the subject is not really worth discussing. Do it.
  22. If the length of the shaft is a problem, you can take the motor to a TM repair shop and have the length cut back.
  23. I took up bass fishing because I came to the realization that I was never going to be worth a crap at golf. Anyone want to buy a set of left-handed Pings?
  24. We didn't do so well last week-end. The four of us caught maybe forty in four days of fishing. Only twenty-two were keepers. It would have been half the amount if the other boater hadn't stumbled upon a large ball of shad at the mouth of Hurricane Creek. They were in twenty-five feet of water and the bass were tearing them up. They caught twenty fish in as many minutes and then the bite turned off. Nothing for the rest of the day. Another little tidbit. We hit a stump in the middle of the boat lane that runs through the Community Cove area. Ya'll be careful out there!
  25. Here's another bit of help for you. Lowrance offers a free tutorial on reading and interpreting sonar images. http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Tips-and-Tutorials/Sonar-Tutorial/
