Why pros don't use live bait?
I was wondering if it illegal for the pros' to use live bait? And if so why? or does live bait just not work as good? Thanksfor your time Gents.

Gerald Swindle's Day 2 catch disqualified
From what I've seen it seems more like the tournament guys have this attitude. These are public water ways these guys are fishing. Everyone else has just as much right to be there as the pros. IMO the pro's SHOULD be showing respect to the locals. And the locals SHOULD also be showing respect to the pros. Neither has more right to be there than the next. Same goes for the camera man. He has just as much right to be on the water as the next guy. What the G-man pulled was BS. I definately think the DQ was justified.

Networking
Is it an excepted practice among the bass pros? It seems to cause a lot of controversy on the walleye forums. What is your opinion on it? if you don't mind me asking

Networking
This is kind of a controversial issue in the pro walleye fishing world. Its called networking. Two or three pros will form a team a share info amongst each other. I have heard they will sometimes even split their winnings with other members of the team. I was wondering if this goes on in the pro bass fishing world as well?

Berkley Blade Dancers
I have honestly never heard a good thing about these baits. Its almost comical. Its also suprising that in-fisherman endorses these lures. But then again Al Lindner could catch bass on a bare hook if he wanted.

walleye colors
It all depends on how strong of current you're fishing when fishing rivers. I fish the Missouri River a lot and it has a pretty strong current in areas. Usually when fishing rivers for walleyes you try finding some slack water right off the main current. 1/4oz to 1/2oz is usaully what I use. Are you fishing in a boat? The main thing about slipping with the current in a boat is keeping your jig in contact with the bottom. That usually means keeping your line as vertical as possible. In lakes you can get by with lighter jigs in the spring, I'll use 1/8oz. When the water warms you can go as heavy as 1/2oz, reason being sometimes a faster fall rate will trigger some strikes and allows you to cover water faster. 1/2oz is getting a little on the heavy side though for lake fishing, I usaully fish a 1/4oz when the water warms. Are you fishing a river or lake? Boat or shore? It would be of big help to know this.

walleye colors
I have always stuck with charteuse whether the water is clear or stained. I am guessing you will be tipping the jig with a minnow, crawler or some sort of live bait. There really is nothing set in stone when it comes to jig color. The jigs purpose in walleye fishing in most cases is just a tool used to present the live bait. You want to use the smallest jig you can get away with while still being able to keep in contact with the bottom. I Use bright jigs just to catch the eye of the fish and bring attention to what ever live bait I am using. Its probably more of a confidence thing than anything. I have heard of people that just use plain lead colored jigs no matter the water color all year long and have excellent luck. I have also heard people say in early spring they use white or glow, late spring and all summer use chartuese, and then in the fall use orange. I pretty much use chartuese all year unless the other person in the boat is useing chartuese, than I'll try I different color. But it seems I always go back to that color. Chartuese is a good confidence color for me and you will catch fish using it, but even more so I'd say if you ain't confident in this color use one that you are confident in. But seriously. I can't stress enough how of little importance jig color is.

scented vs non-scented.
Have you guys noticed if you catch a lot more fish using scented/salted plastics vs. non-scented/salted plastics. :-?

berkly frenzy
If you go back a few pages there is a similar thread on these baits. I would recomend doing a search. It should pop up.

berkly frenzy
I use them a lot casting flooded timber for walleyes and have had awsome luck with them. Particularly the deepdiving firetiger colored one in the heat of the summer in very stained water. They are suprisingly snag resistent. They are an excellent lure for the price.

What was your best fishing deal?
I can't think of any off hand but I remember about 15years ago you could get a 10 pack of regular ole round ball jigs for a $1. Now they 3 for a $1. How times change. :'(

Fishin show or 30min infomercial?
IMO In-Fisherman and Lindners Angling Edge are the two best. I was a little shocked when I seen Roland Martin promoting the "Rocket Rod". Although I have to add that my 5 year old daughter wants one in the worst way. If thats what it takes to get her into fishing, I'll probably get one. I'll probably get two, one for myself also. I bet that would make for some good laughs at a local fishing tournament.
