  1. Had to come give a testimony from Fridays trip using seiberts dredge jig(deep throat hook) this hook is really the only reason I made my first order and yesterday it really proved itself. Pitched the jig next to an old tree stump and had a bass load up. I felt it pulling and then it stopped. Still pressure and I just knew the jig came out and hung in the root system of that tree. Well I troll over and I can see the bass upside down hugging the root still hooked. He had wrapped the line around it a few times and I couldn't reach with my hands. it took some doing and several minutes but I got it loose. The moral of the story is the bass NEVER came unbuttoned. Now I'm hooked on this hook!
  2. Here's a few Seibert outdoors jig(deep throat hook with rage craw or fat Albert twin tail Netbait t-mac on shaky head Strike king 1.5 square bill SK sexy dash Jr Booyah pad crasher Spro popping frog Hack attack swim jig with swim senko trailer or twin tail menace Strike zone ledgebuster Zoom ultravibe worm Brushhog Fluke Berkeley wild thang Pop-R
  3. Normally just trim skirt even with hook bend
  4. Try to get better at ruling out unproductive water Force myself to pay more attention and know why I caught each bass so that I can duplicate and find patterns faster Also have a goal of joining a small tourney club on the river and doing well
  5. Caught several. Biggest about 3.5#. Also got to see some turkeys and deer coming down to the river for a drink.
  6. I didn't expect that response from you, I always hear you talk about fishing blade baits deep and I guess I just assumed that included spinners. Well if you ever decide to try one deep check out strikezone ledgebuster. Not very popular but work well for me in summer when there too deep for cranks To get back on topic, I fish a chatterbait in muddy water anyplace I would fish a jig but want to call bass from further away. 7. Well can't get the PIC to upload right now but I just bought a 97 Procraft 180 in august for $5500. 150hp mariner and only thing it needed was a seat recovered. Ran it hard the last few months. Best and most expensive boat I've owned thus far. Now is a good time to buy one too.
  8. If its blocked on the forums it will be blocked in a pm as well.
  9. Is there black Friday sale more than the normal 15% like the other sales?
  10. I just use my jig rod which is a 7' MH fast. Works well but I really don't throw anything lighter than a 1/4 with it.
  11. I'll be fishing. Plan to take advantage of this drought, the water is clear and low so I'll be doing a lot of scouting for next year and fishing along the way
  12. 1. I don't know what bait you have but I'll give an example of shad. They are always in a school but when they are still it looks like a round ball on the graph. 2. I'm assuming you mean an area you marked from a past trip. If you can't see fish or bait on that spot you have to ask yourself if there is a reason for them to be in this area(I.e water temp, seasonal pattern, time of day) if you think it lines up with these then fish it. 3. If the bass are schooled up your job is to make them active even if they weren't before. Only way to know for sure they are active is to see them busting shad or to start catching. Suspended fish are normally inactive and harder to catch 4. Hard to answer as there will be different opinions and situations. 20 to 30 mins depending on the size of the area ( not 30 mins of repeating the same cast)
  13. Not in Florida but not too far from it. Plan on going Friday to an area I'm not too familiar with. Plan on taking advantage of the drought as the water is low and way clearer than normal so I will be able to see things that I normally couldn't. Guna be marking a bunch of stuff and fishing along the way. There's a warm trend coming back and I have hopes it will be a good day
  14. Following the patterns also add more "spots" and memories.
  15. I don't disagree with that but like scaleface said its when they go right to this stuff that makes me question. Trust me I'm not trying to take anything away from the pro's experience. They are at the top of the game for a reason We are getting off topic with this
  16. Agreed. I know some of it has to do with their experience and some to do with study and also the latest and greatest electronics don't hurt. But there are times when someone has an edge that to me can't be explained any other way than someone tipped them off.
  17. I still hope I can find some to hold since I don't believe I'm that picky. What is the difference between the regular CT and the CT type R? Is the type r worth it over the regular
  18. Sounds good on everything, but I do not wear a xxl glove. More like just large, they can't be that big tho. I'm guna try to find one this weekend to hold
  19. I see your in Montgomery, if you ever want to make the drive I'm about 2 hours south on the hooch. Fish Eufaula pretty regular as well
  20. I really need to hold one then because I do palm my reels. Anyone ever use the BPS pro qualifier and can give me an idea of the difference in size? That's what I currently have on all my rods
  21. I feel differently about the Abu rods. They all seem a little heavier than they're listed.
  22. Not taking anything away from this forum but you really should check out tinboats.net. it is a site full of aluminum boat builds and will give you a lot of good ideas.
  23. guess ill try to find them in town. does academy or gander mountain normally carry them?
  24. @new2BC4bass awesome answer. Thank you. Also I've seen alit of people say the originals tats can be had for $90. Where are they at this price?
  25. Hey guys I'm looking for some help with the different models of the daiwa tatula line. I've never owned one and decided after Some reading that I want to try one of these out. I've looked at several online. The original, type R, and CT. What are the main differences? Its going on my jig rod so I need a RH and would like a fast retrieve ratio. I also would like dual brakes but if not I prefer the magnetic sideplate adjustment. I don't want to go over $130. So what are the differences? And which do you suggest for this setup? Thanks Also if anyone has an opinion on the Lews tourney pro mg I'd be glad to hear it.
