  1. Thanks bud, I use glides to match the bait fish. I heard glides work at night. But I love fishing wake baits at night. Jigs, t rigs, chatters, spinner baits, topwaters, and big slow soft swimbaits work at night to!
  2. 8-2 was caught on an 8 inch DS custom glide, April 3rd 2022 7 am, wind blowing 10-15 from the south partly cloudy skies. Along a drop off to a shallow flat. 7-10 was caught on a brutally slow day on a head hunter minnow jerkbait, March 9th 2023 5 pm, couldn’t get bit all afternoon. She was the only fish I got. It was 10 ish mph, forgot the winds, partly cloudy, away from shore in the middle of the pond. 7-8, Ms 9 inch x2 deep crank slammer, caught June 14th 2016, along a steep drop off to a shallow Lilly pad flat. It was hot and calm 7-5, caught on the same lure as my 8. March 17 2022, in a very shallow pond, this was close to an island with a slight drop off. 4 feet of water. It was rainy and windy. Caught a 5lber that same day on the same spot! 7-1 , on the same bait as my 8 and 7-5, April 19th 2022, 4pm, she was caught on a wind blown tree, it was sunny 6-13. May 17th at midnight. On an 9 inch x3 MS slammer, slow crawled near a blow down tree. Same pond as my 8 6-13 caught on real prey swimbait, April 22,2022 same exact spot as my 7-1
  3. Ive been loving the head hunter minnows. They run only 8 bucks but suspend great in cold water!
  4. I can’t tell you how many PBs and other giant fish. I’ve lost like really giant fish. Horsed them pulled the hook, thrashing their head at the surface cuz they can’t fully jump, digging in the weeds, dull hooks, drag to tight, drag to loose. It hurts every single time but it helps you learn of what not to do. So when you do hook that giant fish you have a better chance to land them. My 8lbs 2 ounce I caught in April of 2022, she nipped an 8 inch glide bait. She had one hook point in her mouth. Shouldn’t have landed that one, but I did! I can remember most of my giant fish fishes I’ve lost and the ones I’ve landed
  5. I’ve been dying since iced in. Im not liking these normal typical New England winters. We’ve been spoiled the past few years. I could open water fish all winter!

I buy my jigs from lead free bass jigs these are damiki and free style ball head. I have bare minimum for electronics. I cast out let it hit bottom, then slow real and twitch it back. Sometimes I’ll pause it to get back to the bottom. I fish it a few different ways. Rip it through the bottom grass. Slow crawl, or fish it like a regular jig. It’s crushes fish though. I have a video of a bass coming up and eating one of my jigs.

I love fishing and tying on 1/4 ounce heads. Slow retrieve basically bottom strolling.
  8. Absolutely. They eat big gills shiners and perch, match the hatch! You’d be surprised what you’ll catch. Also smallies love swimbaits too. I’ve caught a lot of big crappies on big 7 inch wake baits at night. Big walleyes, pike, musky, salmon, brown trout and lake trout will eat swimbaits too.
  9. I think strike king coffee tubes have a white tube. I know lake trout guys love fishing white tubes!
  10. I’m dying! I’m over winter. I miss winters when we can kayak fish! I’m over this snow and ice crap! If I was in NH or CO and I can actually enjoy the snow awesome. But down here it sucks.
  11. There’s a lot of other baitfish out there than just Shad. Out here in Ma. We have perch, sunfish, golden shiners and banded killifish. Some lakes do have alewifes, blue back herring and smelt. You’d be surprised what you will have in your lakes. Look up a fishery survey they should tell you what you have. Northern lakes will Have emerald shiners too.
  12. Try a fly, or tie one up. The hair will slowly move. A marabou will be deadly. Basically a hair jig just hovering in front of their faces. Hair jigs are cold water killers
  13. I love big jitter bugs, not the abrogast plastics. The 8 inch Livingston walkin boss, makes a ton of noise! Also love the 3 ounce 5 inch and 1.5 ounce 3.75 inch lemires sea fly, it was designed for saltwater. Through wired and wooden. This bait is silent. I love solid colors for topwater. Black and white are my top producers
  14. It was a great show, I bought a lot of apparel , saw some people I haven’t seen in a while. Bought some soft plastics and a swimbait. The theme of the show with lures was trying different stuff! Also bought some jerky and hot peppers
  15. I love head hunter minnows, 8 bucks they suspend great. Caught some big fish up here in New England. My 2nd biggest 7lbs 10 ounce on the pro blue.
  16. I love tying my own jigs. I buy jig heads from different companies. My favorite light jig heads for trout salmon and panfish are from Dinger jigs. My favorite bass jig heads are from Leas Free Bass jigs So my question is what are your favorite jig head companies, I’m not talking about VMC and Eagle claw companies but smaller companies. Maybe I can find something different to tie up.
  17. Yes sir!!! Don’t need to see 5 or 10 boats at your spot! It’s one thing to have big lakes, but those smaller ponds don’t need that pressure.
  18. Do you mean white perch or actual whitefish. white fish are a deep cold water fish found in big lakes. White perch are very common around here, part of the striper family. They can live in salt and freshwater and live in Indian pond. There’s big white perch there
  19. Where do you catch white fish in MA? I’ve been around the state fishing. Born and raised here
  20. I order online, I like to support the smaller companies. More variety, better quality. I love Lead Free Bass jigs. He’s my go to.
  21. For the record, I’m not sponsored by him, I just love his baits.
  22. A Dobyns 806 and a Daiwa Luna 253 on 20lbs Big Game. Yea it’s a big bait, I love it cuz it shines where other glides struggle. I fish it in super shallow water, where jerkbaits, cranks, other glides get hung up. It calls out fish and is super natural! You can crawl the bait like a big jerkbait in cold water or burn it! Rig it anyway you want by changing the hooks out. Donald Sanders, owner, posts a lot of IG and Facebook. Great guy too!
  23. I fish both but I prefer the 8 inch glide
  24. I may actually have to blow off the dust on my ice gear!
  25. DS customs! It’s not cheap, but it’s a niche bait. It will float or rig it to make it suspend in super shallow water or sink ultra slow. It shines where other glide baits will get hung up because they sink. You can fish it like a big jerkbait, just slowly twitch and pause. I love slow reel bumps. I’ve caught some really big New England bass on this bait in pre spawn. 8lbs 2 ounce, 7lbs 5 ounce and 7lbs 1 ounce in my first month of fishing this bait between March and April. Also had a lot of smaller fish sub 7lbs fish on it too.
