  1. got out after work, was hoping for 70 sunny warm, got to the spot 48 cloudy and windy. caught 4 small bass up to 2lbs, fighting good, fishing from shore they were stacked up. 2nd time ive fished here in the cold and they were in the same spot both times.
  2. all great choices. i love fluke baits, catch alot of fish on them. ned rig is more of a deep clean bottom pond and cold water trick, its almost like a shakey head, i personally havent used them so they may work for you. i dont fish spinner baits or hardbaits much cuz of pickerel. pain in the butt. plus the weeds are glued to em.
  3. yep! ive heard of bigger bass from there but the smaller ones are always the ones you get to bite. that big place is tough, good luck, im still trying to figure that out, its not easy.
  4. i fish in SE MA and fish a lot of ponds like this. i love big topwaters, working visible structure, jigs, chatterbaits worked like a jig, weedless soft plastics , are my confidence baits if they are heavily fished go at night with topwaters
  5. yea looks like i have to. that place is a great numbers place. ive been searching for bigger bass, havent turned up anything other then a bunch of pickerel. only got out once to my coldwater spot usually catch a 3lb or so bass. a few of them to, now that its open ill be fishing there more. hedges is a great cold water spot, the smallies there always fight great. good numbers to. havent broken 3lbs there tho, lot of smaller fish
  6. i love fishing them like a jig, pitching it to cover and slow hop along bottom. i lift till it vibrates, let it fall, pause then lift again. works great in the summer time and at night. caught some large fish. havent fished it like a spinner bait
  7. great baits nice wide action, i throw them for pike and bass. match the herring and golden shiner i feel like the smaller one will get bit more in the colder water if your just looking blow the dust off your gear. i dont toss them a lot i have other confidence baits. i dont throw glides alot for bass. the 7inch golden shiner got chewed by pike.
  8. thats awesome! im jealous! dying to get on a decent bite, only 1 bass and a ton of pickerel. headed to the cape this weekend
  9. ice melts and the sun sets later in the day, i fish 6-7 days a week, after work during the week and full days on weekends
  10. no topo maps, most ponds i fish dont have them, i have a fishfinder i use.
  11. fished 2 ponds yesterday, shallow ponds. didnt feel like dealing with the wind at the bigger deep ponds. first pond was a bog pond i fished at before. didnt realize how deep that hole was. small tiny area drops to 15-20 feet deep very close to shore. i had a hit and missed a nice crappie. water temps 43-46 here. pond 2. fished shallow along the drop offs. finally caught my first bass of the year. chunky 1.5lber. caught a perch and a pickerel here. missed a few other fish. water temps 44-46.
  12. Tackle supply have great monthly sales right now! 20% river2sea bunch of other sales to
  13. Got out today! Missed one bass at spot 1! Spot 1 I’ve done well at befor in the cold! Missed one bass out deep! Could see down 15-20 feet! Pretty cool! Spot 2! Shallow pond to see if the shallow bite is good cuz deep bite sucked! Caught 1 big pickerel at 3.11! Going out tomorrow! Still need that first bass of the year
  14. think it went pretty good! thanks for asking ill be out in the yak all weekend! the snow is supposed to hold off until the night!
  15. i went out for a quick trip this morning after a job interview. wanted to see if ole faithful is open, 90% open some skim ice on a protected shore. only had one rod with the lure i had on, no gear. 2 pickerel. not bad for a 30 min trip
  16. i love the coffee tubes for smallies! they flat out get bit! i tried the coffee spray, hadnt had to much luck on it!
  17. the hudd has more tail action and is great slow retrieved. the savage works best with a faster retrieve, doesnt have alot of tail get but more of fluid swimming action. two different actions
  18. oh wow. this place is weedy tho, good lily pads and submerge weeds. i bet theres some bigger bass down there, try fishing bigger baits
  19. i gota get my fish finder out there! this place is deep woods, so im the only one out there on a boat. i love it! no pressure. people fish it here or there from shore but they dont catch much, small fish. i usually take my kayak out there. cant wait to fish it in april when the bass are in prespawn mode! that 7.8 i caught 2 years ago in june, she was a post spawn fish, she has put some poundage on. the growth plus the egg weight! LETS GET HER i think theres some very large fish that are deep and dont hit the topwater baits as much as the smaller 5 and 6lbs fish
  20. ive fished jigs here to an extent mostly flipping and pitchin, may have to try draggin jigs deep. not really much of off shore structure, pretty much just really steep drops. one area is like a step. shoreline is super shallow but drops quick into 7-12 feet of water, then drops quick into 20-30 feet. the south side. has shallow water flat the extends a good amount into the pond then drops quick to 20-30 feet
  21. i like chaterbaits more then spinnerbaits, i fish the chatterbaits like a jig tho instead of steady retrieve
  22. they LOVE topwaters here! big topwaters will get bit! spook baits, wakes baits, jitterbugs, frogs. so im sure they will hit a duck, bat and rat. i do have the savage duck and the fruck
  23. I hit Plymouth Sunday in the rain! No action but only had an few hours to fish didn’t fish the yak! But had the waders!
