I've got a 7' Fenwick HMG in medium heavy with a Lews LFS. Since you're already familiar with the HMG line it won't be a big switch, and I can cast a weightless senko with ease. The LFS has been a solid reel, it's not fancy, but it works every time I go out. Now you can spend the extra $100 on tackle!

Looks like I owe you about a half dozen floating minnows I started with more sidearm casting, it's always great to try to parallel the bank and end up on it!

Thank God I learned the reel down on a backlash trick before I seriously started using my baitcaster! I'm still getting them, not at the end of the cast but during, like in the middle of the flight time. Most of the time it just puffs up the line, once in a while it actually catches. Hopefully I can post a picture this weekend, or hopefully not

I've had a few drywall screws stuck in my hands, very painful to back out with a drywall gun, but I haven't nailgunned myself, at least not any that went in like that!

I use an ultra light ugly stik combo. Not the greatest setup, but it is fun catching a big feisty bluegill on a little tiny rod!

I have not used anything except the plain Jane power pro, but I've had zero issues with it except maybe a little color fade, but I normally use a leader so I'm not worried about that.

Caught my first longear sunfish today. Unfortunately he took all 3 barbs and there was no way to get them out without serious damage to him, and I didn't figure a jerkbait would rust away so I had to put him out of his misery, to bad, he was a feisty little guy

I'm pretty sure they are all the 1/15, but I doubt it would make any difference considering how light they are regardless. Might not hurt to get a couple different weights, I usually lose a few in the creeks.

I use the zman shroom head for mine. I fish a creek with decent current, I just cast upstream and let it drift down stream. Kind cheating but it works pretty good.

I like the bluegill, I don't know that it works any better than a frog, but they bite it and I get good hookups with it so I keep using it.

People that ask if you've caught any catfish while you're obviously targeting bass. It's normally a specific sub-group. I had one woman telling me how her old man (her words, not mine) was catching huge bass and cats at this pond I've fished my whole life, I don't think I've ever seen a bass over 1 pound come out of it.
