I finally did it!!
I'm sure I will but it won't be as easy to beat as my last 2.7 lb pb

I finally did it!!
Got a personal best that I won't beat easily. After throwing everything but the kitchen sink, I went to a Senko and got this hog. Healthy 6.9 bass. Still can't believe it.

Stupid fish?
I wouldn't bet the farm on the results but it's gonna be next to impossible to test it in the wild and have real evidence of it. As far as what they did with the fish during the time of this who knows how they where treated. I personally don't like seeing anyone hurt the fish unless they plan on killing them to eat.

Stupid fish?
I didn't conduct the experiment but I'd assume they where wild caught bass and brought in just for the test.

Stupid fish?
I'm just sayin once a fish has seen somthing and knows it not food and it doesn't make the bass react and strike they will let the bait go right by

Booyah Prank-hybrid lure
I'm not really feeling that bait. Seems like just somthing they'll try to sell us fisherman.

Stupid fish?
I had read an article a while back about bass memory. They'd put the bass in a tank and drop in a plastic bait and the bass would try to eat it. After they figured out it wasn't food they wouldn't attempt to strike and eat it anymore. They tested it up to like 8 months and the bass still didn't wanna try to eat the bait. Not sure how much of that is true but I don't think bass are as stupid as people think. They just have instincts like any other animal.

How to catch a PB?
Now, my personal best isn't very big. Around 3 lbs. But I can offer this advice... You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. If you're not out getting some lures wet you'll never catch a new pb. It's all about getting out there and not giving up.

worms and attractent spray?
What I like is a pen you get at bass pro. Comes with red and yellow. Smells like garlic. I color the tails yellow and the mid section of the worm red. Seems to be working pretty well for me

Top 5 summertime bass lures
Pad crasher is my favorite. I like the green with yellow belly and the all white frogs.

Top 5 summertime bass lures
Mornings and evenings I like top water frogs. Middle of the day I like worms. Havnt had much luck on anything else in the dog days of summer.

Unfortunate incident with fellow angler.
My buddy has a privet lake by his house (not his) that he's been fishing for 2+ years and never had a problem. We go there just for fun all catch and release. Last weekend a teenage kid was there with his gf and just so happened to be right where my buddy had caught a 7#er a few day prior. He had it dead set he was going back to that place to fish it again and basically fished right on top of the kid... Well the kid called his dad and his dad came and kicked us out. We went to the other side of the lake and got problems from one of the home owners actually on the lake. Seems the dad had called him and asked him to kick us out. Was pretty crappie move on my buddies part. I know that place is full of some nice sized bass and now we're kicked out for a while till things hopefully cool off.

Storing Fishing Gear in a Car?
If I know I'm going fishing, I'll leave my rod and reel in the back of my truck or maybe the cab if I don't trust people. I noticed last year that any soft plastic worms left in my cab where pretty much useless after 1 fish. So I've been taking those into work with me. Or even keeping them in my lunch box since I'll have ice in it to keep my food cool.

cheap vs expensive lures?
I personally keep a little of both in my boxes. I frequently fish places where I'm bound to lose a lure. In those cases I'll throw a 5$ lure over the 10$ counterpart. But if I'm somewhere that I know has very little to hang up on and I know it's holding some fatties I'll throw my better stuff.

Frog fishing
I love a good booyah pad crasher. Top water strikes are the most exciting thing in fishing. I usually like to go late evening just as the sun starts to set. Seems to be the time when I'll get more top water strikes. Just make sure to let the bass get 2 seconds to get ahold of the frog before you set the hook.

Making the switch to braided
OK I'll run the 20# test today and see how it runs,, I'll be picking up some 40# test this week
-
Making the switch to braided
Ah ok. I misunderstood that. Well I don't throw anything expensive really. But if I lose some of my cheap favorites I'm still gonna be mad. I have some 20# braid. About to replace the 8 I had on my reel.

Making the switch to braided
I'll have to try to up size the line than. I wasn't expecting it to snap on some random weeds growing on the side of the pond. I've had 1 backlash since putting braided on but really didn't seem like the line dug in like everyone says it will. Wasn't any more of a pain to untangle than when my mono back lashed.

Making the switch to braided
Just put some 10# test braided line on my bait caster and I love the feel of it coming off. Question being, I usually run 10-12# test mono. Should I up size my braided some? I ended up snagging on some weeds while casting and it snapped the line. Never had that happen before.

Making my own mold
I'll have to look into other ways to vent it

What's your plan of attack?
I usually spend about 5 min looking around for cover and points. Then tie on my z man chatter bait and start searching. Then I progress from there trying different things seeing what the bass want.

Live Target?
I have 2 that's look like schooling fish that I havnt thrown yet and a realistic looking bluegill that I picked up yesterday. I expect these are only gonna be good in clear water situations
