  1. RIGHT, I'll definitely fish that away from cover. I just havnt ever seen a spinner with a treble. There has to be a reason why.
  2. My 30$ haul this weekend. Pretty happy with em all. We will see what produces and what doesn't. But for my reason for the posting.. What's up with the trebble hook on the spinner bait? Does this produce better hook ups or is it gonna hurt my chances of hook ups? Here's a better shot of just the spinner bait.
  3. I ways try to help the kids out when I see them fishing. In the past year I've given out probably around 2 packs of senkos and hooks to the kids, teaching them how to tie the knot and Texas rig them and a quick 5 min showing them how I fish em. Usually don't get to see the results but I can only hope those few worms I've given out have produced for em and convinced them to buy a pack or 2. IT was a challenge to teach my 6 year old how to fish with a Senko but he's slowly getting it down and actually got his first bass last year.
  4. Went fishing for a few hours the past 2 days and couldn't get the bass to hit on anything yet. But that won't stop me from going out anyways.
  5. Had this view one day while fishing late summer.
  6. It's been pretty warm here in Missouri as well, had days above 50 all week and hit 70 today through this weekend. I plan on hitting the water.
  7. I took an old microwave from work and did my melting outside
  8. I really like the first and last one. Look very nice
  9. OK so I poured just 1 and it turned out pretty well. Went to do 4 on my next pour and it didn't go very well, do I need some sort of vent hole on my mold? I've tapered the opening to allow for the air to come out? I pretty much got a half worm till it started to look full so I stopped and the end product wasn't as desired. Maybe I'm just pouring to fast? Trying to get a nice steady pour and doing so before the plastic starts to cool isn't as easy as I thought
  10. OK that makes sense. Just a couple plastic claps it is. Thanks.
  11. Yea I plan on pouring this weekend for tests I'll post pic of original and repour. The molds are nearly 3x as much as what I pain to make my own. Now when I pour do I use a rubber band or somthing to keep the 2 halves together?
  12. Just started on this today since it's getting closer to a good time for me to start fishing. I think it's looking pretty good so far. Just poured to top so soon I'll see how well this actually turns out. Finished product. I think it turned out pretty d**n well. Just a small pin ***** of an air bubble. But other than that looks pretty good for my first go round.
  13. I hadn't really fished till last year since I was a small kid with my grandpa down in the boothill of mo. The smell brings back memories of good times of carefree life. Not to mention I like being outdoors. Then there's the fight the fish put up. I just love it. Never knowing how big the fish is at the end of the line. And giving me somthing else to do with my son.
  14. Well since I'm pretty new I figured water clarity water temp time of year, color of lure would all be things that caused the bite. Keeping track of retrieval speed might be a little hard for me. I tend to get caught up when I get that bite I get into and and completely forget what I was doing to get the bite.
  15. So I wanna start one of these but not really sure how to keep track of everything. What does everyone keep track of? Water temp seems very helpful to know but I'm not sure how to go about finding out. Ofc keeping track of what I'm throwing and what's working and not working, and length and weight. Is there anything else I should track?
  16. It's only happened to me at a high pressured lake, has happened 3 times probably but I kept thinking I was doing somthing wrong, with being new to fishing and all, till I learned the bass will bump them like that.
  17. Pretty sure this is the one of my pb. I have so many pictures of the fish I catch since I take 1 of every one I catch, even for only fishing for 1/2 a season I've still acquired quite a few. Nothing to write home about, but if I'm not mistaken on the pic weight was around 2.6 but I fully intend on breaking my pb record this year.
  18. I've had problems with hooking bass nearly right between the eyes on the top of their heads, almost like they just bump the lure and I set the hook thinking they've taken it. Luckily never hooked into an eye blinding them.
  19. Sitting and waiting is exactly why I don't cat fish
  20. Well since this will be my first spring to fish I'd like to get on the bite and get on it fast, but id also like to learn a lot more since I don't know much. I'd also like to catch somthing to replace my pb with is 2.8 lb. I'm working with a guy at my new job that seems to know quit a bit about fishing so hopefully I can team up with him and he can teach me some new things.
  21. I do my best to never let the fish hit the ground, but I always carry a scale on my even if I only expect to hook dinkers
  22. I've never went out to look for smallies but i hear that they are more active when its as cold as it is here in Missouri. But I'm not sure where to start to look, any advice?
  23. Parents got me a gift card. Had no other choice. Not like I can use it anytime soon
  24. I've done that. Waiting on a 85$ box of stuff from bass pro to hit my door step. I'm trying to talk my lady into a trip to TX for a quick fishing trip.
  25. I've organized and reorganized my gear and I'm ready to get out on the water but I'm in the middle of Missouri so I don't think I'll be able to hit the water for a few more months. What does everyone else do when there stuck on land and have no chance to hit the water
