I may have the record for that? Open tournament of like 50 boats and I got first with a five fish limit weighing in at a whopping 4lbs 6oz! 😁 Second place was 3 something for 2 fish and I was the only boat to bring in a limit. This is probably my favorite tournament win of all time. Complete grind all day which I only caught 6 keepers with the largest measuring 13" exactly. Culled one fish for less than a 2oz upgrade in 8 hours. Allen

Best I have done in a tournament was 24-7. Best overall would be either one March day fishing a local spot where I caught my PB 8.2 along with a 6.3, 6.5, and a couple others that I didn't bother weighing because fishing was on fire. Other was at Trap Pond in Delaware one July evening where they were on a Zoom toad. Didn't have a scale with me but I caught 9 fish that went over 5lbs and I would bet money the best 5 went 30lbs. Not sure how to post a video? Regular bladed jig blade just doesn't work for some reason. I gave it to a buddy to try so I don't know anything except what he told me. GP bait feels like a mini bladed jig coming through the water. Allen

Anyone use only one brand of soft plastics?
Same here, even similar baits work differently so I just use whatever works best. Allen

What are generally considered the best performing 3-5’ crankbaits for $10 or less?
Bandit 100 and I agree that the SK KVD 1.5 doesn't work as well as the LC 1.5. Allen

Silver bait doesn't run correctly, GP one runs great though. Tried taking a video with my phone that didn't turn out well. Bait feels like a small bladed jig coming through the water. Poured about 25 more heads that I will be painting up the next couple of days. Allen

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Hit a local fishing Flea Market today just seeing what was there. One guy was selling soft plastics $1 a bag and had a lot of good stuff. Ended up buying the entire tub of baits for $70. Counted when I got home and ended up with 121 full and 48 partial packs. The Jackal cross tail shads and Yamamoto Shad shape worms along were worth $70. If anyone is a kids bass fishing coach that needs some trick worms send me a message as I have like 15 packs I will donate. Allen

My 2024 bait of the year
Last year was a complete grind with small finesse baits working the best. Fishing throughout the summer Thursday evening tournaments this bait accounted for most of my fish. I pour 3/32 ballheads using the New EWG hooks for these and they just flat out worked. Went from 3 fish the first tournament to 19 the second once I found these little baits. Hopefully for 2025 other baits work because I do not like fishing these little baits. Allen

Supporting Local Tackle Shops
Me too, the two "Local" shops for me are 45 minutes and 1:15 minutes away. Dicks is crazy high prices so I only hit there when I really need something right away which is rare. Allen

soft swimbaits
Some of you must be spending a fortune in shipping on some of these JDM baits. I see some of the baits on FeeBay $9 plus $14 shipping. Allen

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Well, I said earlier this year I only needed to buy some more fluorocarbon line and bullet weights nothing else. About $200 later I still haven't bought the line or weights. Trying to reserve my money for a HDS 10 pro its just not working. I blame my relapse on the Megabass Fine Art jerkbaits and Imakatsu Riprizers for looking so lifelike a mere fishing mortal like myself can't resist. Disabling the front door ring cam so my wife cannot see all the packages that arrive is getting to be a chore. Allen

Anyone use OSP crankbaits?
While looking for something else on Ebay I came across OSP crankbaits. They have some great colors and they baits themselves look like they would work. Just wondering if anyone fishes them that can give an opinion. Allen
