  1. Natural Muskie, tigers have darker stripes. Allen
  2. Upper Potomac River is where they are at. Never heard of one being caught below Great Falls. MD DNR use to stock them in a lot of places. Closest place I know of for you is where the Monocacy meets the Potomac in Frederick. I have caught them on just about every bass lure made. Baits that seem to do the best are jerkbaits and topwaters. Somewhere around here I have a Muskee box of Baits they have mangled. Allen
  3. Correct wire but those are too heavy for the Potomac River. For the OP what baits are you currently using? Allen
  4. Suggest finding a custom bait maker for these. My recommendation would be for them to cut down. 050 or heavier twisted eye frames to size 3. These frames are made for pike and muskee but are too long for bass size baits. I would also use a 6/0 hook. Allen
  5. Challenge accepted! I want to see someone organize my tackle in an afternoon. Allen

Thought these would work just not any better than other baits. Fished for about 2 hours from the shore earlier and caught three. They were the 3 biggest LM I have caught all year 4.5, 6, and 5lbs. Surprised the hell out of me. I fished them just like a tube with a 1/8oz flick shake head. I definitely need to pour some more flick shake heads with bigger hooks though. Allen

Bought a big LC one in American Shad to match the Shad on the Lower Potomac. Allen
  8. Named after Beaver Lake based on what I read. The RI ManBearPig name is from a South Park episode where they were making fun of Al Gore. Allen
  9. Bandit 300 or SK 5xd are my go to crankbaits. Allen
  10. Jackal Flick Shake in a color called Cola is one of my top 3. Allen
  11. I went simple a couple years ago. Flipping jigs I use black, brown, and green pumpkin or some combination of the three. Trailers are usually the same colors that match the jig. Now I do well with a brown jig with a GP head and trailer. This bait looks like the local crayfish and does well. Allen
  12. Bought 3 different sizes from Amazon or Ebay because I didn't know what size I needed. These will rot before I can use 1/2 of them. Allen
  13. Mustad makes some that only come in 4/0 and 5/0. They do run about 1 size smaller than other hooks though. Allen
  14. LuckyCraft.com -Crank Bait - CB Mighty D2R I call these the limit getter. Allen
  15. Best deep diver I own is the Strike King 5xd and they are usually on sale for $6. Allen
  16. Separating the skirt strands is such a pain I don't use them often. Colder water they are supposed to work better. I don't even carry any when it's warmer out because they melt together. Allen
  17. I have made a lot of 3/16oz ones for guys fishing 25-30' in Raystown Lake in Pennsylvania. Allen

Main place I fish Neds is the river for SM. With elastic baits they are so buoyant that anything lighter that 1/8oz gets swept away by current. A 1/16oz will float 20- 30 feet before hitting the bottom in 8 FOW. Allen
  19. Rapala countdown minnow sinks. Allen

Fish 1/8 most of the time. Occasionally 1/16 or 3/16 just not often. Allen
  21. Takes about one minute to rig up. Allen
  22. For cold water (under 40 degrees) bear hair works the best. Going to try some other materials though. Allen
  23. Most of the time I use 3/16oz with 3.5" tubes. Unless heavier current or 15 FOW the bigger weights just hang up too much. Allen
  24. Past two weeks it's been a brownish finesse jig 1/4oz. Allen
  25. Something different I want to experiment with. Underspins are 1/8 and 3/16 with 1/0 hooks. Bottom is a mini bladed jig that I plan to try with small minnows. Allen
