  1. Trim the skirt to expose more of the Allen
  2. As a certified lure hoarder I would keep it all just in case. Now I would only use 5% of it this year but couldn't get rid of anything. Allen
  3. Want to try some of these in Natural Shad. Allen
  4. They just don't work as well as other Zman baits for me? I have a lot better luck on a 2.5" regular tube. Tubes are sacrificed to the river rocks way before the material will wear out. Allen
  5. Not specifically into BFS but the fish on my local river are small. Thursday evening tournaments are all crystal clear water and small bags. Because of this I fish a lot of Ned craws and small minnows or worms. Started to make some finesse football jigs that looks like they are for panfish. Also working on some 3/8oz downsized spinnerbaits. Allen
  6. So the blades Barlows, JannsNetcraft, etc. are made by 3 companies. Worth, Lakeland, and Hagensfish make 90% of the blades you see for sale. Finishes that looks better would be listed as Premium or Regal. Hildebrandt are very expensive and the sizes don't match anyone else's. For example a size 4 willow between the 3 main manufacturers is close but a Hildebrandt 4 willow is like 2 sizes larger. Lakeland overall has the most different types of finish colors.
  7. I could write two novels just on blades. Try some Indiana or wide willows. Reason I say this is they work great for pressured waters. Everyone in their brother is throwing a chartreuse/white bait with a Colorado and willow blades. Allen
  8. Finesse 3/16 football jig in PB & J. Swim jig in 3/8 for a size comparison. Allen I would say it's more of a finesse bait than a spinnerbait or bladed jig. Doesn’t have the vibration of a bladed jig or flash of a spinnerbait. Feels like a spinnerbait with a really small blade coming through the water. Allen
  9. Just got my copper blades to make a craw colored bait. Allen
  10. Only one that has worked for me is a 1/2oz bluegill colored one. Going to try some smaller sized ones in Baitfish colored ones this year though. Allen
  11. Craft wire is copper based and flexible. I have used it for years with no problem.
  12. These are expensive for what you get. I lose more of these than spinnerbaits. Allen
  13. Looks like a great color! They have so many good looking colors it's hard to keep up. Allen
  14. Munkin posted a topic in Tacklemaking
Dragon buzzbait the guy who makes my blades sent. This is for snakeheads in Thailand but it should work on Musky. Allen
  15. I just prefer the fine cut on these little jigs. Thinner and they don't flare as much when cut short. Allen
  16. Regular on the left and fine cut on the right. Fine is about half the width and works best for finesse jigs. Allen
  17. That tool works for mixing silicone and living rubber together. For production it isn't a good tool. The metal pen looking tool is what I like. Allen
  18. Not sure what size they are but about 1"? Bought a large pack of them years ago cheap. For weight I like a 3/4oz sinker most of the time. Allen
  19. That AJ guy has way too much tackle! I am a minimalist myself. Down to 3 boats. Allen
  20. Finesse cut skirt material is what I use. Regular skirt material flares too much when cut short. I will take some pictures later and post what they look like. Allen
  21. 20 to 24 Guage Craft wire is the best wire to use. That green wire for tomato stakes will rust and break. Allen
  22. Jig on the left is a Boss 3/16oz like in the link above with finecut silicone. Right jig is 3/8 or 1/2 with regular silicone for comparison. Allen
  23. BOSS Fine Wire Finesse – FishingSkirts.com These are very close to the Bitsy bug heads you like. Use finecut skirt material to get the same effect. Allen
  24. What topwater works depends on the year for me. Not sure the rythme or reason why? If I could only pick one it would be the popper. Allen
  25. I was going to say these have been our for awhile. Allen
