A GREAT MESSAGE....... Please don't delete this until you send it on, Let's send it around the world. FRIENDS ARE BORN, NOT MADE This is a poem being sent from a Marine to his Dad. For those who take the time to read it, you'll see a letter from him to his Dad at the bottom. It makes you truly thankful for not only the Marines, but ALL of our troops. THE MARINE We all came together, Both young and old To fight for our freedom, To stand and be bold. In the midst of all evil, We stand our ground, And we protect our country From all terror around. My pickle got fried in divorce court once, . Seriously, I will try that, it sounds pretty good. I saw not long ago where at some carnivals and such they sold fried Snickers bars in which were breaded. They say they are addicting.

You use Stradics? I would never use one of those.

I pull my wheels, check the spindles, clean and repack my bearings, as well as, make sure the seals don't leak every spring. I use Bearing Buddies as well. They are spring loaded and help maintain grease to the bearings should you get a seal leak. I think they are worth it. I live two hours from the Susquehanna River and I can't tell you how many times I have stopped to help guys whose bearings failed over the years. I like George Welcome carry spare seals, races and bearings, as well as, a air pump you run off of the cigarette lighter and a tire plug kit. Its saved my a** more than once over the years. JMO.

All my spinning reels are of the 2000 series without going into brand. They hold about 130 yards of #8 test. I have a buddy whom uses all 4000 series reels, even with #8 test. He loads them up with #12 test and puts on the last 100 yards or so with #8. He swears by this technique due to, less coiling, faster retrieve and smoothness. I don't like the extra wt. factor. I have a 4000 for #12 test on a 7' MH rod for Flounder fishing in Chincoteage VA but, I don't like it for bass fishing, it was not comfortable to me. Anything over #8 and its a bait caster for me. I do see his point in line pickup. Anyone else use these big reels and small pound test?

This happened to me last year, I received a email ( someone knows my personal email somehow, complaining of my post of the girl in the mini skirt with the big ... as well as, my post about the Northern Ireland political changes as of late. Last year was a personal attack on me about my being a guide and a know it all,lol. I am seeing less and less of a sense of humor in here except for a few and I have a tremendous sense of humor so I have to reconsider my place in here. Anyhow, to the sender, no she is not a hooker, its someone I met, yes she was a dancer at one time, she is also a RN, has a BS in Business and owns a small business. If you don't like big hooters, thats your problem, maybe you don't like girls, so go ahead and come out you jerk. I did not post the N. Ireland change in government as a political post but, as a good news post for the ending of violence there. In my family this was a important issue. My family is Scot and we have a lot of Irish friends and I grew up with the Protestant vs Catholic prejudice's. Anyhow, I have now idea why you would be so rude as to judge me. The girl?, hey I am single and like girls, who I date is my choice. Don't judge a book by its cover you prude. Yes maybe I should not have put that picture in here because of the younger crowd, I agree. The N. Ireland news, you evidently have no idea what its all about so don't even go there if you don't know what the he** you are talking about. I grew up with that prejudice and like any other it is ugly. Its funny you mentioned the black bladed baits. I use a black buzz bait for smallies in the first light conditions in the early morning and had success using them so I experimented with black bladed spinner baits without much luck until I used it one morning on a gin clear lake near me for green bass. It was the ticket for that clear water for me in the early first light conditions. I have since used it for this certain time of the day with much luck. Why? who knows but, it seems to work well. Any opinions on why this would work? My opinion is the black color makes it a more of a reaction strike because of its low visibility. Sometimes a non-gaudy color is the answer.

I guess all rivers have different top waters that produce better. At least for me around here for smallies my top producers day in and day out have been Cavitron Buzz baits in 1/4oz white skirt, Spooks in a variety of colors, bone being my best color, Torpedoes in clear, Spittin Images in basic shad colors and a good old fashioned Rebel Floating Minnow. It seems the late evening hours are the best for top water smallies here as well. I know it sure is fun to catch brown bass on top.

Unbelievable. I think they are going to have to build a bigger smoke house. I don't think you would want to be at close range and make a bad shot on one of those.

Avid, I can tell you that for the big river smallies here I use a 1/2oz gold Indiana bladed white spinner bait 99% of the time. It just works when they are on the blade bite but, at times, especially in the low water summer months along the big grass beds on the Susquehanna in Harrisburg a chartruese bladed spinner bait burned can be a killer tactic. I look for the shad boiling on the minnows and that seems to be the time for these chartruese bladed baits. We just burn them and the bass chase them down like cheetahs on a gazelle. I also like them for green bass in the tidal waters of the Lower Potomac in MD in the early spring when the water is dirty. I don't think they are a everyday good choice but, circumstances like the above mentioned can lend them as the best choice at times.

Sometimes I enjoy fishing with a buddy and sometimes I enjoy the solitude. I do better alone as my mind is on fishing. After guiding for 17 years and having to fool with some very interesting clients,lol, it is nice to fish alone. I gave up guiding last year and tend to fish solo more and more. I still like taking people with me though, especially if they have a sense of humor because I sure do.

I used to fish the Fed Trail and I saw some shady stuff from time to time but, over all most of the guys were on the up and up. We caught a guy who was catching big fish and tying them off on docks and piers until tourney day. He won a few doing this until we caught wind of it by someone who knew what he was doing. He was arrested by the DNR while winning a tourney one day and accepting a check. It is stealing, no ifs ands or buts. To that guy I said, aaaaaaaaaa.......ba buy!!!

Around here if you would use live bait for bass they would tar and feather you. I personally think that its what you want to use. I have never used live bait for bass but, I realize in some parts of the country its perfectly acceptable. I just don't understand why anyone would use live bait, but, whatever floats your boat, aye?

You better believe I will pray for your family while they are sacrificing here and I will pray for you while you are in country. Yes, Gander has them. I only use them for Super Flukes in 1/64 or 1/32 clamped right at the nose but, they had a assortment of wt's when I was there a few weeks ago. They also had Fat Ika's for 4.50 a bag in green pumpkin on special.---Just a heads up.

I used to when I was younger but, now that I am older, I don't think I can anymore ! ;D
