  1. I feel like I am in a group counseling session. Well here goes, " Hi, my name is Jim, and I don't own a G. Loomis ", now go ahead, everyone say " Hello Jim ".
  2. I have to agree with Avid on this one. I have noticed the difference when using salt laden baits and non-salted ones. I do think the bass hold on longer to salty baits. As far as scents go, I think maybe it helps as a cover up, maybe, but, I am not sold on them. I have not seen a significant difference. Plus, when you come home with all those weird smells on your fingers your better half might think you are having a affair.
  3. OK, I have been patient but, here is my two cents. Leave your slide rules, hypothesis's, calculators, the position of the sun and moon charts, crystal balls, underwater camera's, laptops with formulas and equations software at home. As the saying goes " Just shut up and fish ". Ghesssssssshhhh, quit making it all so complicated and lets just fish. Its not that hard.

I could be wrong, and I am only using my intuition but, Trick or Treat LBH !
  5. OK Avid, I will send Eva down to you as well. I am sorry, she only has two hands so I can't get her to hold anyone else's pencil. Oh, and NO 5 lb bulk spools of line and saltwater reels you want loaded with 4 lb test fellas.
  6. I sat at a red light for 15 minutes the other year and finally decided that I would move on as there was evidently something wrong with the light. About 5 or 6 other vehicles did the same. I got a fine in the mail and contested it. I told the judge what had happened and he asked me if I had proof from the city that the light was malfunctioning and when I told him no he gave me my fine along with a additional 35 dollars in court cost. What can you do? I would say pay the fine dude, I doubt you win but, I guess you could go for the principle of the thing. My two buddies, one a State Trooper and the other a Deputy Sheriff laughed like heck at me. What a bunch of goobers, lol.
  7. Way to go Ben23. While your friends are in bed with a hangover you will be out enjoying nature and catching those big bass. It makes me happy to see a young man like you with some common sense, especially in this day and age.
  8. Ben, I wish you the best of luck in your up coming tournament. I know you will represent Maryland well , not only with your fishing ability's but, with your character as well. Good look my friend and give her all you have got. I will be rooting for you. Jim
  9. Black 1/2 jig with a Zoom Chunk in Flippin Blue for green bass. Green Pumpkin/Red Flake Salty Tube with a 1/4oz jighead, 3 1/2" for brown bass.
  10. Yea guys, you are right, the Trick Worm does sink, slowly, but, it does sink, sorry. I was not using my head. I have had a lot of luck throwing a white or white/pepper floating worm in the spatterdock though.
  11. Muddy, I use a spooler by the name of Eva Asburnink Groenstast. She is from Austria and easy on the eyes. She holds my line on a pencil while I spool up. I will send her up, but, do you think I can trust you while she is holding your pencil?
  12. You bet I will FM. I think he is getting tired of the old man hugging him, but, TS, I am going to do it anyhow, lol. Thanks for all your well wishes and to those of you still in the Irag, may god be with you.
  13. Arrrrrrrrr , tie that dog to the yard arm and cover him in Smelly Jelly and let the gulls have at em, arrrrrr ! " Using scent is not in the rules really, its just a guideline ", Arrrrrrrrrrr.

Yea, I hope she is happy in heaven now. She was one gorgeous woman whom had a ninth grade education and made it to Hollywood. They chewed her up and made a shell out of her for money. Right now, Geraldo and Greta are speculating and bashing her as I guess most of these lowlifes are. There are good media people out there but, the ones like I mentioned above are the lowest forms of life to me. They will take a tragedy and stomp the players into the ground until no one will listen anymore, take the money and run and wait for the next victim. Freagin parasites :-/.
  15. I tried to put garlic powder in a zip lock with some tubes. Did they smell like garlic? , yes, will I do it again? , no. It is just too messy and smelly and I am not sold on the scent factor. I do like the idea of a cover scent, but, as far as crawdad, worm, shad juice, I just don't see where it has made a significant difference when I tried them. What say you? says I ? Sorry, I just watched a old pirate movie this week.
  16. Thanks for your concern Avid. I not only recognize his PTS but, I saw it rear up when he was stabbed last year. To make a long story short, he was jumped in a alley way and stabbed, could not fire because of the other men, and took the guy out with his knife. Evidently they had to pull my son off of the guy. His excellent training kicked in. A nurse called during that week and let me talk to him as long as he wanted. He just did not even speak of what happened. I only knew what the nurse told me, nor did he ever bring it up. Enough said. I will never bring anything to do with Iraq up with him. If he ever wants to discuss it, I will let him do all the talking. I really don't think we will ever have that discussion though. I guess some day it might manifest itself, how? I don't know. Maybe it will never happen. It breaks my heart that this will probably stick with him for his life time but, my lips are sealed. Again, thanks for your concern. I appreciate it and have looked into it.
  17. Amen to that. I like a cold beer myself, but, I NEVER even drink ONE and drive, period. I work around the results of drunk driving accidents as well and I feel no sorrow for a drunk that is crying about hurting someone while driving drunk. They disgust me. That may be a little strong but, I go nuts when they are boo-hooing about hitting someone and they wish they had never done it. It doesn't make you a bad guy to enjoy a beer now and again but, it makes you a idiot to drink and get behind the wheel of a vehicle, and thats all I have to say about that. >
  18. You otter not hurt them. I like otters. They are fun to watch. When we go flounder fishing in Chincoteage VA. you have to tie the doors shut on your minnow buckets overnight because the sea otters use them like smorgasboards. I have seen them empty all the buckets in the marina overnight. Free lunch man !
  19. No but, I find this interesting. The less " trouble hooks " the better for me. I don't do well with treble hooks. I get them tangled in everything, including me.
  20. Interesting RW. It seems the smallies in this area like the taste of pipe tobacco and beer as well. Why not bottle a new scent, RW's Smokey Hops Scent.

  22. My son just got home Monday and is finished his military time. He has been in Iraq for a year and a half. He was deployed along the Syrian border, spent time in Mosul, and spent the last eight months in Baghdad. He is a little scared visibly from being stabbed and injured in a Humvee while driving over a roadside bomb but, is all in one piece. He is understandably not the same " boy " that left for the military, he is a man now and my heart is swelled with pride. He gave me the word that he never wants me to bring up the middle east with him so, I will respect that. He plans on going to college for a teaching degree. His dream is to be a college football coach. My dream for him is to achieve that goal. I pray for all whose sons and daughters are deployed in Iraq or anywhere else in the world serving in the military. God Bless.
  23. I just cannot get to those bass. I went the other day and tossed a tube and it just slid across the ice. I threw a spinnerbait and it just slide across the ice as well. I need to learn more about this winter fishin. What am I doing wrong?
  24. On a local 56,000 acre lake in my area there are a lot of night tournaments in July and August. Typically I go a little heavier on wt. Also, most of us use florescent blue line and a fishing black light. Your #8 test looks like 1/4" rope while using this technique. I also go more by " feel " than line watching while night fishing. I have caught some of my biggest bass while fishing at night on this lake. The bats hitting your line at night will drive you to drinking they are so plentiful and tend to hit your line all night. All of us around here look forward to these night fishing trips, as its usually takes at least 16 or 18 lbs to even cash a check in these night tournaments most of the time with a mixed bag of brown and green bass.
